Lloyds Banking Group Lean On Me Challenge 2017 Mapbook Halifax Hike September 29 In aid of Mental Health UK

Join the Facebook Group Lean On Me Challenge For updates on the event Or follow on Twitter under #LBGLeanOnMe Plan and Timings 2 As with all of the events, the Halifax Hike begins at Copley at 9am. The first six miles of the event is alongside the canal. After a little short of three miles, the first stage ends in Elland on the banks of the canal by the Fox and Barrel pub. Then the walkers will cross Elland Bridge and return to the canal towpath heading for Brighouse. From Brighouse the route heads to Hipperholme where a 30 minute lunch break is planned by Kendall s Café From here, the walkers will steadily climb up through Shelf and Queensbury as far as The Raggald s pub just the other side of Mountain. Then they will head back to Halifax largely down Keighley Road before arriving at the Trinity Road office. The last stage then heads back to Copley via a trip down into Sowerby Bridge. Stage 1 Copley to Elland 3 0.0 Leave the Data Centre heading for Copley Village 0.1 Turn right on Hollas Lane and immediately left down onto the canal towpath 1.0 - Pass under the road in Copley Village staying on the towpath 1.5 As the canal splits, keep right following the path on the right hand side of the water passing the lock without crossing 1.6 Cross over the water to Stainland Road and on the other side, return to the towpath along the canal 2.4 Cross the canal to the other towpath and continue on towards Elland 2.6 Pass under Elland Bridge and turn left towards the main road 2.7 Stage end at the Barge and Barrel Pub

Stage 2 Elland to Brighouse 4 0.0 Head over Elland Bridge 0.1 Halfway over the bridge, turn left on Gas Works Lane. 0.2 Take the path to the left after Wharf House by the sign for the Calder Valley Greenway to re-join the canal towpath heading towards Brighouse 1.4 Pass the Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve 2.2 Cross water to the other bank and follow it on to the bottom of North Cut 2.3 At the end of North Cut, turn right, cross the water and follow the River Calder towpath and follow this on to Brighouse 3,0 Cross under or over Owler Ings Road staying on the towpath 3.1 Turn left on A641Huddersfield Road by Sainsbury's 3.2 Straight on (2 nd exit) at the roundabout onto Bradford Road 3.3 Follow the road round to the right at the end and then join the pavement alongside the main road. 3.4 Cross the roundabout to the checkpoint at Tescos

Stage 3 Brighouse to Hipperholme 5 0.0 Turn right out of Tesco s and head up Bradford Road 0.5 Turn left on Trinity Grove by the Indian Restaurant 0.6 At the end, turn left on Smithy Carr Lane 0.8 At the end, turn right on Lightcliffe Road 1.0 Turn right on Smith House Lane, the left fork of two roads off to your right. 1.3 As the road bends to the right, turn left onto Stoney Lane and pass the Primary School 1.7 At the end, turn left on Wakefield Road by the Sun Inn 2.3 After the bank of shops, turn right on Sutherland Road 2.5 Cross over Leeds Road and continue up Sutherland Road 2.7 At the top, turn left on Bramley Lane 2.9 At the end, after the Grammar School, turn right on Denholme Gate Road. 3.0 Checkpoint at Kendall s Café THIRTY MINUTE LUNCH BREAK

0.0 Leave the Raggald s car park at the rear onto Roper Lane, turning right, then immediately left on Green Lane towards Bradshaw. ( 1.2 Pass the monument and keep right on Pavement Lane 1.7 At the crossroads, head straight across Keighley Road into Field Head Lane 1.9 Take the 3 rd left into Heathmoor Park Road when the houses finish 2.7 At the end, turn right on Keighley Road 3.0 Checkpoint at Morrison s Stage 5 Mountain to Illingworth 7

0.0 Continue down Keighley Road 0.9 Cross over the lights in Ovenden by the Railway pub 1.5 Cross the lights with Ovenden Way and head down the dual carriageway staying on the right hand pavement 1.9 At the lights, turn right into Shroggs Lane then turn left onto Dean Clough 2.4 At the end turn right on Northgate 2.5 Veer left on Market Street between the bus station and Kashmiri Aroma 2.7 Turn right on Russell Street before WHSmiths and then left on the precinct before Wilkinsons 2.8 Turn right at the crossroads by the White Horse pub and left at the end by the Halifax Branch 2.9 Cross the lights and then turn right into Trinity Road Stage 6 Illingworth to Trinity Road 8

Stage 7 - Trinity Road to Copley 9 0.0 Leave the Head Office and head up Blackwall, taking the first left on Harrison Road 0.2 At the end, Head straight over into Oxford Road and follow it round to the left 0.3 At the end, turn right on Huddersfield Road 0.5 Opposite the bus depot, fork right on Heath Road 0.7 Straight over at the lights with Free School Lane 1.2 After Manor Heath Park go straight over the lights with Skircoat Moor Road and head along Skircoat Green Road 1.5 At the end of the high wall on the right, turn right down Copley Lane 1.7 Take care crossing the narrow bridge as there are no pavements for 15 yards 1.8 At the lights after Copley School, head straight over past the Volunteers Pub 1.9 Follow Copley Lane round to the right and join the canal towpath 2.9 Leave the towpath and turn right on Hollas Lane 3.0 Turn left at the lights on Wakefield Road and arrive at Copley Data Centre
