INCENTIVE PARTNERS organize for you one of the most beautiful run on a magical coastal road : The Mauritius Marathon 2010. A real Marathon chic and sportive! 1/ the route : On the 20 th of June the scenery you will discover all along the race is one of the most beautiful coastal road: The start will take place on the South of Tamarin Village around the shopping center: Ruisseau Creole. Tamarin is known for its surfing, and is also the capital of salt with its vast saltpans. Then down to the south, Black River: Kingdom of big fishing sport, and located at the foot of the largest National Park in Mauritius: The Black River Gorges Park. The Village of Case Noyale, true to the west coast, between the mangroves and the savannah of the mountains. Direction Mountain Le Morne: the second UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mauritius, symbol of freedom for the slaves. This famous mountain of Mauritius which peaks at 570m above the blue lagoon is now a real emblem of Mauritius Republic. Then comes Village Le Morne; opposite the Islets called l Ilot Fourneaux in the middle of the lagoon, the meeting place for wind and kite surfers. Baie du Cap; with its spectacular mountains on one side and the white sandy beaches on the other. Wild and fringed Filaos, here you will find a picture of paradise. Maccondé Bay; the road winds off through the small bay, between cliffs and mountains before reaching the towering rock. It continues with the Saint Martin and Bel Ombre; vast sugar estate created in the 18th century, a testimony to the agricultural development of Mauritius and the opportunity to discover the remains of the local architectural heritage. The last kilometers run along pebble beaches and the crashing waves of the great Indian Ocean. Finish line is on the beach of Saint-Felix in the bottom of Chemin Grenier the largest town in the southern wilderness. 1
The half marathon will start around Baie du Cap close to the mountain of Le Morne and will follow the route of the Marathon as described above. The MAP The marathon will cross 8 villages and 2 districts of Mauritius : Savanna and Black River, which together account for nearly 150,000 inhabitants. Advantages of the route: - The path crosses several specific natural landscapes of Mauritius; - The route passes through varied but typical villages; - The course is historically rich; - The course is easily accessible. Logistic of the race : The Sunday 20th of June, the runners of the marathon and the half marathon will also celebrate the Musical festival So come and join the race enjoying the rhythm of Mauritian traditional Sega! START Marathon start in front of the shopping center Ruisseau Créole at 6h30 am Half-marathon began around the Baie du Cap at 7h00 am CHECK POINT All along the route we will offer runners water or sports drink, and refreshments every 5 km. And during your run, you will never feel alone, a Sega rythm will give you the energy. 2
FINISH Saint Felix public beach is a wild but well equipped area, close to Riviere des Galets, it is accessible easily by everyone. Competitors will be able to refresh and regenerate in a beautiful countryside before going back home and the accompanying persons will enjoy the entertainments. The Marathon of Mauritius is a unique opportunity to launch out a sporting challenge within an idyllic framework and to discover another side of Mauritius, the occasion to support associations like MMCS and Friends in Hope or to meet people and to share a common accomplishment.
