Baliem Valley lies 1800 m above sea level and is surrounded by a crest of mountains, some reaching up to 4500 m. The discovery of the valley and the Dani tribe was only made, after

the advent of flight, in 1938 due to its virtually impassable terrain and the lack of food for the explorers along the way. On this tour you will visit the local market in Wamena Town and the neighboring Dani villages to observe their primitive traditions and a totally different way of life as we know it. The tour also includes a visit to Aikima and its 250 years old mummy and Kurima, where the Dani and Yali Tribes' way of life mixes into a unique combination. This exciting adventure will show you the unique and isolated way of life of the hidden valley. An experience you ll never forget. These are just some of the many domestic travel options to choose from when you book with Worldwide Dive and Sail. Please contact our bookings team at info@worldwidediveandsail.com or ask your agent for more information. Insurance Worldwide Dive and Sail strongly recommends guests to obtain travel insurance. Worldwide Dive and Sail cannot be held liable for any delays which occur during the cruise, nor delays/cancellations of the flights and transfers organized on your behalf. General Information Visa and Passports Passport holders of most western countries are required to obtain a visa on arrival which allows stays up to 30 days. Visa and Passport regulations for different countries are constantly in a state of flux. We always advise our guests that they check regularly for updates and changes. Please make sure that your passport has validity of at least 6 months upon arrival into Indonesia. You may be required to show a confirmed ticket to leave Indonesia within the maximum number of days you are allowed to stay in the country. For more information, please visit the Indonesian Embassy website. www.indonesianembassy.org.uk/consular_visa_type_arrival.html Time Zone The time varies depending on your location in Indonesia; GMT + 7 (West) in Sumatra, Java and Western Borneo; GMT + 8 (Central) in Sulawesi, Lesser Sunda Islands, Bali and Eastern Borneo; GMT + 9 (East) in Papua and Maluku.

Health Health services in Indonesia are by no means up to western standards, although there are hospitals in all major towns. We do advise all guests to ensure that vaccinations are up to date. We recommend that travelers follow normal precautions with food in order to prevent stomach upsets, and be sure to drink bottled water only. Please consult your doctor or nearest health authorities for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. Language and Religion The spoken language in Indonesia is Bahasa; however, nearly all Indonesians who work in the tourism industry speak English. 88% of all Indonesians are Muslims, and about 8% Christians. There are size-able minorities of Hindus and Buddhists who freely pursue their respective faiths. Climate and Weather Indonesia is a tropical country, and the climate is fairly even all year round being roughly divided into two distinct seasons, 'wet' and 'dry'. The east monsoon, from June to September brings dry weather while the west monsoon, from December to March, brings rain. The transitional period between these two seasons alternates between gorgeous sun-filled days and occasional thunderstorms. Even in the midst of the wet season temperatures range from 21 C (70 F) to 33 C (90 F), except at higher altitudes which can be much cooler. The heaviest rainfalls are usually recorded in December and January. Average humidity is generally between 75% and 100%. Clothing and Footwear Dress on board our yacht is very casual and most guests feel comfortable in little more than swim wear, shorts and t-shirts, particularly in the warm weather of Indonesia. A sweater is advised for cooler nights, particularly after multiple dives. Guests prefer bare feet on board the yacht; however island visits will require sturdy sandals or cross-trainers. Electricity On board the yacht we have both 220V and 110Vwith 2 round pin sockets. (European style) Please make sure you bring universal adapter with you if necessary. On land 220/250 volts AC, 50Hz but 110 volts is still used in some areas. Plugs used are European-style with two circular metal pins.

Smoking Smoking onboard is permitted in designated (outdoor) areas. Money Matters The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). The majority of established hotels, shops and restaurants accept major credit cards. However, smaller, family-run places probably will not. Worldwide Dive and Sail advises guests to exchange money prior to the departure of the trip and have small denominations of Indonesian Rupiah on hand. Payments Onboard Marine and Port Fees The marine park and port fees for this trip are 80 per person and must be paid onboard in cash. Optional Extras Any extra costs you may have onboard must be paid in cash. Worldwide Dive and Sail accepts GBP, EUR, USD and the Indonesian Rupiah. We regret we are currently unable to accept credit card payments on our Indonesia excursions. Trips often finish in remote locations, it is best to bring extra cash in case there is no ATM or other method of withdrawing or exchanging money. In addition to park & port fees, guests are advised to bring between 200-300, for any incidental expenses such as massage, wine, cocktails, laundry, dive course, torch or computer rental and WWDS merchandise. Tipping Tipping is a matter of personal choice. You may wish to leave a tip if you feel the crew has made your holiday extra special. Tips are divided equally amongst all the crew including dive guides. Airport Terminal Fee Passengers travelling within Indonesia are required to pay airport terminal fees. This varies from airport to airport; please ensure you have small denominations of local currency on hand to pay these fees.

Diving Information Guests Level of Diving Worldwide Dive and Sail welcomes everyone from non- divers to seasoned divers. Each destination has different diving conditions based on the season and time of the trip. If you have concerns regarding the conditions of the destination you wish to visit then please contact your agent or Worldwide Dive and Sail. Water Temperature and Exposure Suits The Banda Sea has average water temperatures of 26 C (79 F) most guests will find a 3mm shorty sufficient. For those who feel the cold easily it is advisable to bring your own 5mm suit. Scuba Equipment Since some of the airline carriers have strict check-in luggage limits, Worldwide Dive and Sail offers most rental equipment free of charge. All trips include: 12 litre tanks (15 litre tanks by special request and depending on availability) Weight belt and weights BCD not weight-integrated Regulator - complete with alternate air source and depth/pressure gauge consol Wetsuits - 3mm shorty only Mask Fins - full foot or open heel and boots Equipment Rental The following equipment is for rental at an extra charge of 5 per day. Underwater torch Dive computer* * Please note that the use of a dive computer is compulsory on our yachts. For your safety, Worldwide Dive and Sail asks all guests to always dive within the limits of their dive computer. Underwater Photography and Videography Our yachts offer specialised features for underwater photographers and videographers.

These include: Each cabin is fitted with an individual computer and multiple power sources to facilitate the needs of digital photography. The computer features high-end specifications and 20 high- definition flat- screen which is integrated with the yacht s network server in the saloon. Work stations for the preparation and maintenance of cameras including prep and storage areas. Large rinsing tanks with fresh water changed frequently. Recompression Chamber and First Aid Worldwide Dive and Sail yachts are equipped with a thorough first aid kit and facilities for emergency oxygen administration. The area of Raja Ampat is very remote and there are no hospitals in the area that can deal with a diving emergency. The nearest recompression chamber is at the hospital in Manado and to reach it requires the use of private emergency air evacuation. Flying After Diving Current studies show that you should wait at least 24 hours after multiple repetitive dives before you fly. Please have this in mind before you book your onwards international or domestic flights. Diving Insurance Diving insurance is mandatory aboard all Worldwide Dive and Sail yachts, irrespective of destination. Please ensure your insurance covers scuba diving and snorkeling, including the costs for recompression chamber treatment and emergency air evacuation. Whilst many general travel insurance companies will cover scuba diving activities they often fall short on recompression treatment or evacuation. Worldwide Dive and Sail strongly recommends purchasing diving- specific insurance such as DAN (Divers Alert Network), Indepth or PADI which each have broad coverage for diving accident treatments and medical transportation. Prices vary dependent on your chosen package. Worldwide Dive and Sail can offer shortterm diving insurance coverage (1-4 weeks) through Indepth. Requests must be received by our bookings team at least 1 week prior to our cruise departure date to ensure adequate time for arrangements. www.diversalertnetwork.org www.indepths.org www.padi.com
