LE11 5RG For information in Europe, call:(01509) 231166 Emergency Number, Europe: 01509 231166 Section 2 - Composition, Information on Ingredients ---------------------------------------- CAS#: 7789-45-9 Chemical Name: Copper bromide %: 100.0 EINECS#: 232-167-2 ---------------------------------------- Hazard Symbols: XI Risk Phrases: 36/37/38 Section 3 - Hazards Identification EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air). Potential Health Effects Eye: Causes eye irritation. Causes skin irritation. Ingestion: Causes gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause blood abnormalities. Ingestion of large amounts of copper salts may cause bloody stools and vomit, low blood pressure, jaundice and coma. Inhalation: Dust is irritating to the respiratory tract. May cause severe irritation of the upper respiratory tract with pain, burns, and inflammation. Chronic: May cause liver and kidney damage. Chronic ingestion may cause bromism characterized by disturbances of the central nervous system, skin and digestive tract. Section 4 - First Aid Measures Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if

irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing before reuse. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid. Inhalation: Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid. Notes to Physician: Antidote: The use of Calcium disodium EDTA as a chelating agent should be determined by qualified medical personnel. Section 5 - Fire Fighting Measures General Information: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Substance is noncombustible. Extinguishing Media: Substance is noncombustible; use agent most appropriate to extinguish surrounding fire. Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8. Spills/Leaks: Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container. Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective Equipment section. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation. Section 7 - Handling and Storage Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing dust, mist, or vapor. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Section 8 - Exposure Controls, Personal Protection Engineering Controls: Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the permissible exposure limits. Exposure Limits CAS# 7789-45-9: Personal Protective Equipment Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin

Clothing: Respirators: exposure. Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure. Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator if exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms are experienced.
