I chose Arizona for my state project because I have spent all but 1 year of my life here. I was born in New York, but we moved out here not long after. At first we lived in Glendale, but then we moved north to Cave Creek. I went to Cave Creek Elementary School which was in the center of town for grades 1 st and 2 nd. Afterwards, I attended Black Mountain Elementary School for grades 3-6 th. For 6 th grade we were in taught in trailers that were parked near the school. My high school class totaled 100 students. I loved growing up in a small town. The state of Arizona has many beautiful parks including one of the Wonders of the World; The Grand Canyon. Over 1 million people visit the Canyon each year (www.research.com, 2016). Our state bird is the Cactus Wren and state tree is the Palo Verde. Arizona is also known as the 5 C s State: Copper, Citrus, Cotton, Cattle and Climate. I really enjoy living in the state of Arizona. There are many things that I enjoying doing in the state of Arizona. These activities include; hiking, riding my quad and fishing. I enjoying hiking in the pines of Flagstaff and along the red rocks of Sedona. Yuma is where my family and I ride our quads around the golden sand dunes on the Arizona/California border. My favorite fishing hole has to be Alamo Lake. I have lots of fun hiking around the coastline and casting my pole into the deep blue water. These are just a few of the many things I enjoy doing in the best state; Arizona! Name: Date: Copy 1, 2, 3, 4 State Float Paragraph Graphic Organizer 1.
