The Mann Family Celebrates 40 Years of Fishing in BC. From humble beginnings in the early 1970s, the Mann Group has siezed opportunities and made strategic investments that have enabled them to grow their family run business year over year. CEO STATEMENT 2017 Operational Efficiencies and Future Growth The Osprey No. 1 s average daily catch was between 70,000-95,000 lbs in 2014. Since then, upgrades in holding & freezing technologies, and adding 66% more freezers has enabled daily production of up to 250,000 pounds. Global demand for sustainable sources of high-quality, low-priced seafood is greater than ever. The MANN GROUP is well positioned to capatilize on this ever increasing demand with our substantial White Fish and Ground Fish quotas, and our symbiotic assets and operations. 2005 2000 Transitioning to A Global Seafood Exporter The Manns purchased a 57.8 m freezer stern trawler. At 2024 gross mt, it is the largest F/T on the Canadian west coast. In 06, the Manns purchased a leasehold at the Port of Vancouver and later, the adjacent property. She is responsible for developing promotional materials and interacting with prospective buyers. Built in 1998 in Denmark, the Osprey No. 1 is the largest mid-water freezer trawler on the Canadian west coast. At 57.8 meters, & over 2000mt, the Osprey No. 1 is 34% longer than the next largest vessel and has twice the production capacity. The Osprey No. 1 is the culmination of 70 years in the business - fishing, and process engineering. Annual overhauls and critical investments in technology have enabled the Osprey No. 1 to produce 50% of the frozen-at-sea Pacific Hake industry s product.
