Dear Skaters, RecPlex Holiday Ice Show Friday, December 16 th at 6:30pm & Saturday, December 17 th at 5:30pm Registration Deadline: Monday, November 1 st! Register by October 7 th and receive $20 off!!! The RecPlex Ice Arena is excited to invite you to participate in the 2016 Holiday Ice Show. The shows will be held on Friday, December 16 th at 6:30pm and on Saturday, December 17 th at 5:30pm. The following group numbers will be offered: Snowplow Sam Basic 1 & 2 Basic 3&4 Basic 5&6 Specialty 1 (Freeskate 3-5) Specialty 2 (Freeskate 6& Pre-Preliminary) Specialty 3 (Preliminary-Juvenile FS) Specialty 4 (Intermediate FS & up) Intro to Pre Freeskate-Freeskate 2 In addition to the group numbers above, we will also have feature solos, duets, guest skaters and our in house Patriettes team! For your convenience tickets will go on sale Saturday, December 3 rd, 2016. General admission is $10.00 per person and preferred seating will range from $12-$14 depending on the time frame selected. Preferred seating groups will be sold based on early time slots. Spectators in these preferred groups will be let into the bleachers in waves to select their seats before the general public. General seating prices will increase, the day of the show. Children 2& under are free of charge. Eligibility: All skaters that wish to participate must sign up for a skating class at the RecPlex Ice Arena for the Fall 1 and the Fall 2 session. The only exception to this rule is listed below and applicable to Freeskate 1 & above skaters. Skating Level must be determined as of October 29 th, 2016: Freeskate 1 & up: Our FS1 & up skaters have the option of signing up for a class OR purchasing a Holiday Ice Show Freestyle package! The Holiday Show Freestyle packages will give the skater 16 hours of Freestyle ice which may be used during any Freestyle session throughout Fall 1 and Fall 2. However, the holiday show package will expire on 12/21. No extensions will be given. Show Freestyle Package (16 hours of FS ice)- Members $160 Non-Members $176
Costumes: All costumes will be ordered for the listed group numbers. Music will be selected for each group number and choreographed by RecPlex Ice Arena staff during the scheduled rehearsals (included in this packet). Extra copies are available at the Ice Arena Guest Services Desk. Costume Registration Information: All costume information should be filled out online BEFORE you register at the front desk. Online costume form: http://recplexonline.com/form/holiday-ice-show-costume-reg-form Please measure your skater with a proper measuring tape and fill out every detail to avoid mistakes in sizing of costumes. If you are unsure please ask one of the figure skating coordinators and they will help determine the size. Since not all companies use the same sizing chart please fill out every measurement in inches and it will be matched with the appropriate size. Print your email receipt after filling in the costume form so you can present it to guest services before you register and pay. Volunteer Requirements: It is required that each family volunteer at least 2 hours of their time either during the Holiday Ice Show or during the Autumn Classic on November 12 th and 13 th 2016. Please fill out the volunteer form attached to this packet. Solos & Duets: ALL skaters Freeskate 3-5 can sign up for a Duet or Trio. You can request a partner or be paired with another skater. ALL skaters in Freeskate 6& up can sign up for a Solo, Duet or Trio. Any skater doing a solo, duet or trio will be required to be in a Specialty Number. Solo/Duet and Trio spots are limited. Music for solos, duets and trios will be provided by the skater(s) and presented to the Figure Skating Coordinator (Katie Kerley) via email for approval BEFORE choreography is started. Music is to be of a holiday theme. Music choices will be given on a first come first serve basis. Costumes for solos, duets and trios will be provided by the skater and presented to Figure Skating Coordinator for approval. Costumes should be in good taste. Feel free to be creative! Music: Fees: Solos should be no longer then 2:00min. Duets/Trios should be no longer then 1:30min. EARLY bird discount! Receive $20 off if you register by Tuesday, October 7 th! This fee includes the costume, ice time for rehearsals, choreography, coaching fees, lighting and miscellaneous expenses. That price also includes a DVD of the show. Any skater wearing rental skates will be required to purchase boot covers from the Pro Shop. No Refunds will be given after November 1 st, 2016! Attendance: Specialty lighting, decorations and props will be used to create a holiday wonderland for the skaters. To ensure a quality show, all rehearsals will be mandatory! All missed rehearsals must be approved by the Figure Skating Coordinator. If a skater misses more than one rehearsal (unexcused) they will not be allowed to participate in the show! No exceptions will be made!! Please look over the scheduled rehearsal times to be sure your skater(s) can attend them all. Pictures: Picture Day will be Saturday, December 10 th. Picture packet forms and the schedule will be available at the first rehearsal. We are excited that you decided to join us and help us celebrate!
