SMU shot 27.9 percent in the game, its lowest shooting percentage this season since its opening game of the 2013-14 season. The Clan shot 57.1 percent in the 1st half compared to just 21.4 for SMU. A 19-5 run in the final 7:10 of the first half put Simon Fraser firmly in control. Brooke Paulson led the Saints with 12 points in the game inclulding four 3 PT s. For a complete recap and stats, click here. Saint Martin s got off to a good start at Seattle Pacific back on Jan. 25th opening up at 14-point lead in the first half. But the Falcons closed out the half on a 15-5 run to pull within four at the break. Their momentum carried into the 2nd half as SPU outscored the Saints, 34-13, in the first 13 miuntes of the half. SMU shot just 33.3 % in the half and went 1-of-10 from the 3 PT line as Seattle Pacific came away with a 78-68 victory shooting 68.2 % in the 2nd half. For a complete recap and stats, click here. SMU s depth continues to be a strength. 9 different players have scored in double figures for SMU this season while 6 different players have led the Saints in scoring in a game this season. The Saints are getting an average of 28.2 points per game from their non-starters. SMU has outscored its opponents bench in 10-straight games and 18 of their 23 contests this season. On Saturday against Simon Fraser the Saints got double figures off the bench from Megan Wiedeman (11) and Krista Stabler (11). The Saints have a home court advantage boasting the 2nd best home record in the GNAC as they are 9-1 inside Marcus Pavilion this season.
