A Message from the President... Your Board of Directors and members have had a busy year! In 2016, our second chapter banquet grossed $185,000 and a large percentage of the net proceeds were used in this community to help various organizations continue their own missions. Your San Angelo chapter was awarded Rookie Chapter of the Year from SCI in 2016. There are 169 SCI chapters in the U.S. and the San Angelo chapter ranks 9th in the nation for our 30% contribution to the national organization. At no time in our country s history have our hunting rights and gun ownership rights been under such scrutiny. The anti-hunting movement continues to gain momentum and our major driving force to protect hunters rights is Safari Club International. Our chapter mission is to continue to support our national organization while helping wildlife conservation efforts in our state and community. In service to the shooting sports industry, Scott has served on the board of directors of SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL, and is a past president of the Oklahoma chapter. He was SCI s national director of the Sportsmen Against Hunger project for the Humanitarian Services committee, vice-chairman of the USA Shooting Team Foundation board in Colorado Springs, and chairman of the board of the Professional Outdoor Media Association. Although SCI has made every effort to ensure the quality of donated hunts and trips, it cannot, and does not, guarantee the satisfaction of either the donor or the purchaser. 11. To protect our hunt donors, SCI reserves the right to withdraw any donated hunt from the auction that does not receive a bid at the minimum of 50% of its stated value. If the Auction Program Chairman and/or the Auctioneer determines that it is necessary or in SCI s best interest, the hunt may be offered to the last highest bidder at 50% of its stated value before determining that a withdrawal is necessary. If the last highest bidder rejects the offer, the hunt may be considered a no sale and withdrawn and may be resold later. All hunt values are printed in the auction guide and verified from donor price lists. The Auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the sale of a donated hunt. 12. Some hunts are subject to VAT and GST tax liabilities. Often these taxes are due and payable before a hunt can be taken. Other items may be subject to sales taxes.
