Annual Star Performance Karaoke Competition The Foundation will have their annual Star Performance Karaoke Finals Competition on Saturday September 13, 2014 at the Sutton American Legion. Registration for the finalists will be 7:15 PM. The finalists will begin competition at 7:30. Deb s All Around Sound will provide the Karaoke. There will be food available and a raffle that evening. Those qualifying this year are Deb Bishop, Don Schaldecker, Ron Isley, Lily Griess, Briley Griess, Deb Baumann, Stephanie Babella, Tavia Steenson, Daniel Woodside, Sara Hale, Tanya Nuss, Kris Moody, Sawyer Parr, and Adrianna Hoskins. Congratulations to all of you! Awards will be presented to: 1 st & 2 nd place winners awards night October 18, 2014. 1st Place: Trophy, $100.00 cash, & Festival packet 2nd Place: Trophy, $50.00 cash, & Festival packet We hope all of you plan to attend, and hope many will attend to show your support and appreciation for this annual event. Please mark your calendar and attend. It promises to be exciting and challenging! ELECTION BALLOT 2015 The deadline for the 2015 election ballot for Foundation Board of Directors is October 18, 2014. Hall of Fame 2015 Our Hall of Fame members are an important part of the NCMF. The NCMF Board of Directors is now considering Hall of Fame nominations for 2015. To become a member of the NCMF Hall of Fame, a nominee needs to be: Associated with the music world in either Country or Gospel Connected with Nebraska A professional performer, a songwriter, or a member of the NCMF in good standing for 5 consecutive years. THE NEBRASKA COUNTRY MUSIC FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT ORGINAZATION 501(c)(3) THAT PROMOTES THE GROWTH OF COUNTRY MUSIC IN NEBRASKA. ALL DONATIONS TO THE NCMF ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. MEMBERSHIP DUES REMINDER MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE PAID YEARLY. THEY ARE DUE EVERY ANNUAL FESTIVAL IN OCTOBER. MEMBERSHIP DUES: GENERAL INDIVIDUAL - PERFORMER $25.00 NCMF Hall of Fame members have a paid lifetime membership to the foundation. They are required to pay stage fee to perform during the festival. Jr. Hall of fame members are $12.50 per year and are required to pay stage fee during the festival. A membership to NCMF helps in the cost to print and mail newsletters, event flyers, notices, and information to all members throughout the year. Our newsletters are a vital way to inform members of events and happenings. Any person can be a member of the Nebraska country music foundation. You do not need to be a performer, songwriter, or musician to be a member. Hall of Fame Plaques The NCMF Hall of Fame plaque 34 years and the NCMF Jr Hall of Fame plaque are proudly displayed at the annual festival. Each year Hall of Fame names will be added to the plaque. Box 1323, Hastings, NE 68902 2014 Foundation 34 th Annual Festival The 2014 NCMF Board of Directors announces the 2014 Festival will be held Wednesday, October 15 thru Saturday, October 18 at the Adams County Fairgrounds Community Service Activities Building, Hastings, NE. The theme will be Ride A Horse, Sing A Country Song and the 2014 festival colors will be Black & Brown. If you are interested in competing in this year's festival, please email necmf1@gmail.com with your name, choice of song, and if you plan to sing with the band or with CD. This year's Saturday headliner is Big Al Weekley. The festival schedule and more festival details are in this issue newsletter. Please check our website www.necmf.net for information. FESTIVAL SONGWRITING ENTRIES The Foundation requires the following to enter a song in the songwriting competition. 1. Person or group must be a current member of the NCMF 2. Person or group must pay the $15 stage fee 3. Song must be on CD 4. Name of person or group who wrote the song 5. Address of person or group who wrote the song 6. Name of song and track # 7. Professional or amateur division 8. Country or Gospel category 9. Song on CD MUST be entered into the competition on or before 12 noon on October 17, 2014 to be judged. If you cannot enter your song by 12 noon on October 17, 2014 you can mail it & the required information prior to the festival to Deb Shaw, 30550 Birch Rd, Glenvil NE 68941 and I will make sure it gets entered. Practice time with the festival band will be limited this year. Performers will need to send or email me the TITLE OF THE SONG, THE KEY YOU NEED, AND THE ARTIST THAT SINGS IT BY SEPTEMBER 25. I will then pass the list to the Festival Band so they can have some preparation prior to the festival. Knowing your song(s) prior to the festival will help cut down on the necessary practice time and help speed up the time for performers. If you have the song on CD, you can mail the CD to me & it will be returned to you. The category for Golden Oldie Country Song of the Year and Tribute to Veterans may bring out several new songs that the band has not done before. Big Al started playing a guitar at the age of 14. He is a well known performer, promoter, and DJ for KRVN Radio Station, Lexington, NE.

All ages and all divisions eligible to compete in this category but the song must be a country song 1980 or prior to qualify.
