Hunter classes and pleasure classes are to be judged on performance, soundness and suitability with emphasis on manners. B Children s Hunter Open to horses and ponies ridden by a junior exhibitor. B Green - Junior / Amateur A green rider is any rider who has never jumped a course of fences at 2 6 or higher at any show. Safety and good horsemanship shall be emphasized, and the adding of strides shall not be penalized. To be shown over fences 2 (no combinations). B Low Pre-Green Hunter Open to horses who have not shown over a course of fences 3 6 or higher. CPHA Horsemanship Medal This class is open to Child and Adult riders who have never won any PCHA, USEF, National or Local medal class, equitation, hunter, or jumper class with fences 3 or higher. Riders may not compete if they have won any association medal finals where fences are 3. Trainers and riders must be members of the CPHA prior to riding in this class. Fences 2 6 in height with no combinations and at least two changes of direction. No work-off and one test of either a halt or trot fence as part of the original course. CPHA Child/Adult Medal This class is open to Child and Adult riders who have never won any PCHA, USEF, Nationa, Local or Regional medal class, equitation, hunter, or jumper class with fences 3 3 or higher. Riders may not compete if they have won any association medal finals, with fences 3 3 or higher. Trainers and riders must be members of the CPHA prior to riding in this class. Fences 3 in height with at least two changes of direction. At least two riders must work off using USEF test 1-8. There must be three entries to fill the class and three to complete the course. For CPHA Foundation Equitation Class Juniors and amateurs fences 3 3. Three riders must complete the course. Two tests will be part of the original course. Trainers and riders must be a member of CPHA and PCHA. For CPHA Junior Medal Five riders must compete in each age group (juniors and amateurs) or the classes will be combined. 17 & under fences 3 6. Three must complete the course. Jumping phase and work off of a minimum of three riders using tests 1-18. Must be a member of the CPHA and PCHA. Trainers must also be a members. For CPHA Amateur Medal Five riders must compete in each age group (juniors and amateurs) or the classes will be combined. 18 & over fences 3 6. Three must complete the course. Jumping phase and work off of a minimum of three riders using tests 1-18. Must be a member of the CPHA and PCHA. Trainers must also be a members. For WCE Junior-Amateur Medal Juniors and amateurs fences 3 6. This class is designed as a jumper type equitation class, which will be held in the jumper ring over a course at Level 4. The class will have a time allowed based upon a speed of 375 meters per minute. Time allowed is a definite factor in this class and may only be changed by the course designer after the round of one of the first three riders and only if he/she thinks a gross error was made in the original calculation. No work off is required. At least three competitors must complete the course for points to be awarded. Trainers and riders must be a member of the CPHA and PCHA. For additional specifications, check www.cpha.org. SFVHSA 12 & Under Medal This class shall consist of one round over fences (60%) and a flat phase (40%). In order to be eligible to compete, a rider may not show in any class where fences may be set at 3 3 or higher. The course will consist of at least eight fences set at 2 6 in height, with two changes of direction, and no combinations. All riders must ride in both phases. The same horse and equipment must be used in both phases, with the exception of martingales, which may not be used in the flat phase. Three riders must complete both phases for the class to count. Riders and their trainers must be SFVHSA members before entering the medal class. For additional specifications, check www.sfvhsa.org. SFVHSA 18 & Over Medal This class shall consist of one round over fences (60%) and a flat phase (40%). In order to be eligible to compete, a rider may not have won a medal class where fences exceed 3 3 in height, as of the date of winning the SFVHSA medal class. However, after a period of five years has elapsed since a rider has won a medal class at 3 6 or higher, that rider regains his eligibility to compete in SFVHSA 18 & Over Medal Class. The course will consist of at least eight fences set at 3 in height, with two changes of direction, and at least one combination including an oxer. All riders must ride in both phases. The same horse and equipment must be used in both phases, with the exception of martingales, which may not be used in the flat phase. Three riders must complete both phases for the class to count. Riders and their trainers must be SFVHSA members before entering the medal class. For additional specifications, check www.sfvhsa.org. SFVHSA Challenge Medal Open to junior and amateur members who have not won a 3 6 medal final. The course will consist of at least 8 fences, 3 3 in height, with at least two changes of direction. SFVHSA Futures Medal This class is restricted to junior and amateur members who have not competed in a class where fences may be set over 2 6 in height. This class shall consist of one round over a course of at least 8 fences not to exceed 2 3. There shall be no combinations on course. Only one change of direction is required.
