RULES Ribbons awarded from first to sixth place. Champion and Reserve in all divisions with 3 or more entries. Each class must have at least 2 entries to be held, and 3 for VHSA points to count. Proof of negative Coggins within the past 12 months required. Formal attire is encouraged. Boots and ASTM-approved hard hats must be worn when mounted. A $30 fee will be charged on all returned checks. $25 non-showing fee for horses on grounds but not entered in show. One paid California Warmup permitted per horse/rider combination if time allows. This show is an associate member of the VHSA. Every class offered herein, which is covered by the rules and regulations of the current VHSA rule books will be conducted and judged accordingly. Management reserves the right to refuse entries, cancel, split and/or combine classes if necessary. In case of a tie, points won over fences will be the deciding factor. No martingales in under saddle classes or the flat phase of the equitation classes. (exceptions granted for leadline, pattern, and pre-short stirrup) No boots on horses in hunter classes. All guests and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damages to show grounds and property. Visiting horses may not enter barn. Judge s decisions are final. Anyone displaying abusive and/or unsportsmanlike conduct will be excused and all entry fees forfeited. No dogs allowed on show grounds. Age of rider is determined as of December 1, 2017 Red Gate Farm, their employees and associates will not be held responsible for any loss, accident, or injury during this show. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS - HUNTERS LEADLINE DC: For riders 7 years of age and under. Rider not eligible for any other classes other than Pattern Ride and must not have competed in any class other than Leadline/Pattern Ride. Rider to be led at the walk. Pony to be on lead at all times. RGF PATTERN RIDE: Open to riders 12 years and under. Riders may enter other walk/trot classes only. Leadline may be used. Anti-grazing reins allowed. PRE-SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION DC: Properly attached anti-grazing reins are acceptable for this division. For riders 10 years of age and under. Not eligible for classes requiring cantering or jumping. Must not have ever competed over fences or shown at the canter. RGF NOVICE EQUITATION: Open to riders 12 years and under. Entries may not cross enter into classes where they would jump over 18. Jumping rounds may be trotted or cantered. Must not have ever competed over fences higher than 2. SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION DC: For riders 12 years and under. Must not have shown over jumps exceeding 18 in height. SHORT STIRRUP HUNTER V/DC: Open to riders 12 years and under. Entries may not cross enter into classes where they would jump over 2'. STUDENT EQUITATION: For riders in 1st or 2nd year of showing at 2 feet. May cross enter into other divisions as long as the jumps do not exceed 2 feet. Must not have shown at other shows jumping higher than 2 feet. Riders may trot or canter over fences and simple changes are permitted. PONY PLEASURE V/DC: Open to all ponies 14.2H and under ridden by juniors. PONY EQUITATION V: Open to all ponies ridden by juniors. Judged on hands, seat, guidance and control of mount. To be ridden over a separate course of at least 8 fences. At least 1/4 of riders completing the course will return to work on the flat.
