MK50-50th Birthday Celebrations Welcome On 23 January 2017 Milton Keynes is celebrating its 50th birthday, and throughout this iconic year, MK Council and city wide we are celebrating the past, present and future of Milton Keynes, sharing this amazing place to live, wk and visit. We are creating shared memies and showing off the city s histy, landscape, infrastructure, culture and people through a year long programme of activities: MK50! MK50 will provide an inclusive programme of events and activities on all scales, enabling people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be part of the celebrations. Welcome to your guide to 50 Walks f MK50, a joint project by Milton Keynes Council and The Parks Trust to create an exciting, fun programme of walks to celebrate Milton Keynes 50th birthday in 2017. There are a wide variety of walks available; suitable f all ages and abilities. Walks are located across the city, with the difficulty level indicated in each walk description; the me boots, the me challenging it is. Walk 1 MK50 BIRTHDAY WALK Mon 23 Jan 2017-10am. As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations take a walk in one of the city s ancient woodlands. Park at Howe Park Wood Education Centre, H7 Chaffron Way opposite the Westcroft Centre. 4-5 miles / 2 hour walk. WOMEN S WALKING NETWORK Sat 4 Feb 2017-10am. Led walk celebrating Women's Walking Netwk walks, walking through Milton Keynes parks f over 20 years. Meet in the 'star' car park at Furzton Lake on the V4 Watling Street opposite the National Bowl. 4-5 miles / 2 hour walk. Walk 10 Walk 8 WHADDON - MK HEALTH WALK Wed 22 Mar 2017-10-11:15am. A walk going past Stony High Street, down to the Mill Race, along the river by Mill Field and beyond to Ouse Valley Park. Walk 13 THE PARKS TRUST CHALLENGE WALK Anytime. Self-guided 25 mile challenge walk across Milton Keynes parkland. Start from Howe Park Wood, off H7 Chaffron Way. 25 miles. Downloadable map available from The Parks Trust website. WALKING FESTIVAL - OUSE VALLEY PARK AND COSGROVE WALK Sat 13 May 2017-11am. Join this walk starting from the Ouse Valley Park, then onto Man Farm Earthwks to Cosgrove Leisure Park and discover the Roman Buildings and the Old Wolverton Medieval village returning to Ouse Valley Car Park. Come prepared f countryside walking. Meet in the car park on Watermill Lane, Stratfd Road, Wolverton Mill. 5 miles. Walk 16 Walk 14 WALKING FESTIVAL - MK MONOPOLY BOARD WALK Sat 13 May 2017-10am (up to 4 hours). Nthern section of the MK Monopoly Board - be led from property to property on Milton Keynes very own Monopoly board. A linear walk from Central Milton Keynes Station to Wolverton Station passing city icons along the way. Central MK Train Station Square - next to the bike racks. 8 miles. WALKING FESTIVAL - WALK FROM NEW BRADWELL Sat 13 May 2017-10-4pm. 10 mile walk from New Bradwell across the countryside in the nth of Milton Keynes. Bring a packed lunch and come prepared f countryside walking. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on this walk. Meet by the New Bradwell clock, Newpt Road, New Bradwell. 10 miles. Walk 17 Walk 15 WALKING FESTIVAL - WHADDON TREE WALK Sat 13 May 2017-10:30am. Nth Bucks Way to Whaddon countryside walk with brief talks on trees and histy. Come prepared f countryside walking. Meet in the Hazeley Wood carpark at junction of H4 Dansteed Way and Wickstead Avenue, Grange Farm. 6 miles. WALKING FESTIVAL - STANTON LOW PARK WALK Sat 13 May 2017-12pm. Discover the new parkland of Stanton Low. Walk with a Parks Trust ranger through the park and learn about the area and the hidden histy of St Peter's Church. Meet in the car park by Broughton Fields School, Shakerstone Close, Milton Road, Broughton. 3 6 miles. WALKING FESTIVAL - STONY STRATFORD TO HAVERSHAM WALK Sun 14 May 2017-9am. Long walk from the edge of Stony Stratfd to Haversham and back. Discover the changes in landscape and transptation around the area. Bring a packed lunch and come prepared f countryside walking. Meet in the car park on Calverton Road, Stony Stratfd. Near to Milfd Avenue. 10 miles. Walk 23 Walk 21 WALKING FESTIVAL - MOULSOE TO WOLVERTON WALK Sat 13 May 2017 - Time Take a 'U' shaped walk with the rights of way team from Moulsoe to Wolverton. 10 miles. WALKING FESTIVAL - COUNTRYSIDE AROUND MILTON KEYNES WALK Sun 14 May 2017-4pm. Long walk from the Nth Bucks Way across countryside towards some of the surrounding villages. Bring a packed lunch and come prepared f countryside walking. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome on this walk. Meet at the Hazeley Academy, V2 Tattenhoe St. 10-11 miles. Walk 24 10 11

Circular walk starting at Whaddon village and walk along the Nth Bucks Way and part of the MK Boundary Walk and discover the location of Snelshall Priy on the walk back. Park in Whaddon Village and meet at St Mary s Church, Whaddon. 4 miles. WALKING FESTIVAL - TOUR OF THE OUSE VALLEY AND FLOODPLAIN FOREST NATURE RESERVE Sun 14 May 2017-12pm. Join a Parks Trust ranger f a tour of the Ouse Valley and uncover the wildlife residing in the Floodplain Fest Nature Reserve. Meet in the car park off Haversham Road at the end of V6 Grafton Street. 2.5 hours / 6 miles. 1 per person. WALKING FESTIVAL - REDHOUSE PARK TO BURY FIELD Sun 14 May 2017 - Time Join this led walk from the new to the established; from Redhouse Park to Bury Field in Newpt Pagnell. Discover the wildflowers and natural beauty of Bury Field. Come prepared f countryside walking. TIME: WALKING FESTIVAL - HERITAGE OF LOUGHTON VALLEY Sun 14 May 2017-3pm. Join this walk which starts by the Roman Villa at Bancroft and discover the rich heritage of the area. Meet in the Roman Villa car park, Constantine Way, Bancroft. 4 miles. 1 per person. SHENLEY - MK HEALTH WALK Tue 30 May 2017-10-11.15am. A variety of walks offered through Woughton on the Green, so you can walk at a pace suitable f you. Led social walk f all ages and abilities finishing with refreshments at the local church. St. Mary's (Woughton) Church Car Park, Newpt Road, Woughton on the Green, MK6 3BS. STONY - MK HEALTH WALK Fri 2 Jun 2017-10-11am. Join the Stony Stratfd led walk around Ouse Valley Park, including the nature reserve and an opptunity to see the birds and wildlife.
