Rita s Italian Ice LN Student-Athletes of the Week Rita s is located at 8910 East 96 th Street, just north of the intersection of 96 th and Sargent Road. Nick Petroy and Maddie Loughery, Cross-Country Nick and Maddie, both seniors, punched their ticket to the IHSAA state finals with amazing performances at the semi-state meet on Saturday in Shelbyville. In fact, Maddie broke the LN school record! These two running Wildcats will be competing this Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. Great job, and good luck Nick and Maddie!

Cheerleading & Cats in the Community: The LN cheerleaders were at it again, this time helping out MSDLT elementary schools at the NCAA sponsored, I am a Reader program. They do a great job of helping out with community events! Senior Chauncey Mays was excited about his time at Crestview Elementary school, going over to see the kids as the LN Wildcat!

Cross Country: The XC teams had four Wildcats compete in the semi-state in Shelbyville over the weekend; Maddie Loughery, Grace Dean, Nick Petroy, and Matt Reid. Seniors Petroy and Loughery qualified for the IHSAA state championships! Petroy covered the 5k course in 15:51.5, while Loughery s time of 18:37.5 set a new Lawrence North school record! The state meet will be run at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. The boys race starts at 1:00pm and the girls race will start at 1:45pm. Good luck at state, Nick and Maddie!

Football: The Wildcats will face the Warren Central Warriors on Friday night in the first round of the 6A sectional. The winner will move on to face the winner of the Ben Davis vs Lawrence Central game the following week. Congrats to seniors Chauncey Mays and Maliq Carr, who were invited to play in the Blue-Grey All- American Bowl games in January. Chauncey has been invited to play at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 6 th, while Maliq has been invited to play at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, on January 22 nd.

Volleyball: The volleyball team had busy Saturday in Greenfield, beating New Palestine in the first round of the regional in straight sets to advance to the regional championship game against Avon. The Cats won the first set before falling to the highly ranked Orioles, 3 sets to 1, ending the tournament run for the Wildcats in the Elite 8. Great job, Wildcats! Congrats on a season to remember!

Remember that all athletes are required to have an IHSAA/Community Health physical packet turned in to the athletic office prior to participating in any open gym, tryout, practice or competition.
