Thank you for registering to take part in Insomnia 24, we hope you re as excited as we are for event day! We hope that your training is going well, whether you re taking part on your own, or as part of a team. This race pack is intended to provide you with all you need to know about the event, and answer any questions you may have. KEY EVENT DAY INFORMATION: VENUE: Cattows Farm, Swepstone Rd, Heather, Coalville, LE67 2TD INSOMNIA 24 / RACE INFORMATION PACK / 3
CAR PARKING: There is ample car parking at the venue (please follow event signs on Heather Lane). Please note that there is a charge of 5 per vehicle which will cover your parking for the duration of the event. Please ensure you have the correct change available on arrival. REGISTRATION: Please note that you MUST register at the registration area in the race village between the following times to take part in the event: FRIDAY 22nd JULY: 4-8pm: Race registration (for Friday arrivals) SATURDAY 23rd JULY: 7-10am: Race registration (for Saturday arrivals) You will be given key event information, therefore it is compulsory that EVERY participant registers to be able to participate in the event. Please ensure that you bring with you the Go Ultra Events signed disclaimer form (further on in the pack) and photo ID to provide proof of age. Without these, you will not be permitted to take part in the event. You will receive your race number at this point, which must be worn at all times during the event. You will be required to complete the back of your race number with personal information, and emergency contact details. Please also ensure that you detail any key medical information on here too, which may be used by our Medical Team in the case of an emergency. By completing and providing this information, you are giving your consent to use this in the case of an emergency. INSOMNIA 24 / RACE INFORMATION PACK / 4
KEY TIMINGS: Friday 22nd July 2pm: site opens 4-8pm: Race registration (for Friday arrivals) 9pm-10.30pm: Onsite entertainment, live music & bar 11pm-7am: Quiet time on the site Saturday 23rd July: 7am-9am: site opens for Saturday arrivals 7am-10am: Race registration (for Saturday arrivals) 10.15am: Mini Insomniacs fun run (Approx. 1km) this is free of charge. Under 14s only. 11.55am: Race briefing on start line (ALL participants to attend) 12noon: Mass start 8.30pm-6am: Head torches must be carried and worn by all participants 11pm-7am: Quiet time on the campsite Sunday 24th July 6am: Head torches can be removed 12noon: Race ends, all final laps must be started before 12 noon to count 2pm: Finishers presentation 2.30pm onwards: Sunday departures 11pm-7am: Quiet time on the campsite Monday 25th July 7am-11am: All remaining campers to depart site CHIP TIMING: You will also be given your timing chip at registration, and full details on how to use. Please note that there will be one timing chip per solo participant, and PER Team, which you will hand over to your team mate at the relevant point. SPORT ident provide our chip timing and results system and are a professional external supplier to Go Ultra Events. Please ensure that you keep your timing chip with you at all times, and hand in to the Go Ultra Events Crew at the finish line. Please note that any lost timing chips will be charged at 25+VAT. THE ROUTE: The route consists of a 10km off-road loop through woodlands and fields and parts of the National Forest Way. Please note that the full route map will be uploaded onto the website closer to the event, route maps will also be available for participants and spectators at the event. Please note: the route is subject to change dependant on weather and final health & safety checks. The route will be marshalled for directional purposes, and there will be a water station at approximately 5k. You are welcome to take your own food & drink supplies on the course but you must dispose of this rubbish in the bins provided. There will also be water and snacks supplied at the finish and half way point. As the event will be taking place throughout the night, please ensure that you adhere to the compulsory head torch and kit requirements: We are extremely proud to be working with the beautiful Cattows Farm for this event and are committed to returning the venue and route to the same standard as we found it, therefore please ensure that you dispose of any litter in the bins provided and show respect at all times. KIT: Please ensure that you cater for all weather conditions, and pack accordingly. Suitable footwear must be worn (we recommend trail shoes for this event). Majority of the course is off-road therefore please ensure you are sufficiently equipped. Head torches MUST be worn from 8.30pm-6am by all participants. There are parts of the course that have no lighting so this is a necessity for health & safety purposes. The Go Ultra Events Crew will be checking this regularly so please ensure this is adhered to. SITE INFORMATION: The Race Village: Go Ultra HQ Onsite catering A fully licensed bar Massage tent Children s entertainment and inflatables Music Please ensure that you bring cash with you, should you wish to purchase any food and drink in the main event site. Please note that there will be limited facilities available on the Sunday evening, therefore please ensure that you bring adequate food and drink supplies with you. Facilities: You can expect use of hot showers, toilets and water access points all weekend free of charge, in the main event site. Please note that there are no electric hook ups available for the camping, but as mentioned above there will be hot showers and running water available. CAMPING: Camping will be free of charge for all our participants and spectators. Please note there will be no pre-pitched camping available. As we are using the beautiful grounds of Cattows, we just ask that you are respectful of the surroundings, and the quiet times we have indicated on the key timings section. We want you to have an amazing weekend so feel free to stay from Friday to Sunday nights inclusive. Please note that there are no electric hook ups available for the camping, but as mentioned above there will be hot showers and running water available. Please ensure you dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided onsite. Please note there will be no chemical disposal available. Only small diesel powered generators are permitted onsite between the hours of 7am-10pm. The camping area is separate to the car parking area to ensure the health and safety of our participants and spectators. Disposable BBQs only are permitted onsite. You are not permitted to dig up the ground under any circumstances. These must be kept a safe distance away from tents, and you must dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided. Please note that you are camping at your own risk, and Go Ultra Events are not responsible or liable for any damage or loss to your personal belongings. INSOMNIA 24 / RACE INFORMATION PACK / 7
MINI INSOMNIACS RACE: Please note that there are no electric hook ups available for the camping, but as mentioned above there will be hot showers and running water available We re a family friendly bunch, therefore there will be a mini Insomniacs race (approx. 1k) on Saturday 23rd July at 10.15am. This is free for all children under 14. The winner will receive a medal and a prize. Please ensure you advise the Go Ultra Events Crew at registration if your child would like to take part, and they will provide you with the relevant information and form to complete. We MUST have this information prior to the event. FIRST AID AND MEDICAL PROVISION: Your safety is our ultimate priority and therefore First Aid will be available for the duration of the event. Our medical providers will aim to attend to any incidents as soon as possible. Please ensure that you carry with you for the duration of the event, the Go Ultra Events Organisers mobile number should you require any assistance or medical attention at any point: WAYNE BUSBY GO ULTRA EVENTS MOBILE: 07738 865461 Your health and safety is our primary concern, but please ensure you are sensible and cautious at all times out on the course, but particularly during the night. CHEATING: We will not allow cheating of any kind. Anyone caught trying to cheat will be disqualified from the event, and subsequently your team will also be disqualified if you are a team runner. FINISHING & RESULTS: After finishing the event you can expect your own Insomnia 24 bespoke medal, Insomniac T-shirt, and goody bag. The solo runner or team that complete the most laps in 24 hours will be announced as the winners of their category and will receive a prize. In the event of a tie, the runner/team that has completed the most laps in the shortest time will be announced as the winners. For example: Team 1 15 laps 24hours 10 minutes Team 2 15 laps 24hours 25 minutes Team 3 14 laps 23 hours 57 minutes Therefore, team 1 would win as they have completed the most laps in the shortest time. Sport ident provide our chip timing and results system and are a professional external supplier to Go Ultra Events. All results will be available on the Go Ultra Events website after the event. I understand that I am entering The Go Ultra Events Insomnia 24 event entirely at my own risk, and I must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards, and take full responsibility for my own safety. I agree that no liability whatsoever shall be attached to the event organisers, or staff in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused. I understand that this event is a 24 hour event, and I have read and agree to all terms as outlined in the race information document. If at any time during the event, I feel unwell or feel it would be unsafe to continue, I will retire from the event. I accept that Go Ultra Events can withdraw me from the event at any point, should I not adhere to the terms outlined. I also understand that Go Ultra Events reserve the right to cancel or amend the event for unavoidable reasons beyond their control.
