The meeting minutes were voted on and accepted. New Business: The Massasoit Chapter Christmas Party was discussed. The party will be held at Patty and Dennis Martin s on Thursday, December 6, 2012 starting at 6:00 PM. November Meeting Notes: The Chapter discussed Paul McCarthy s recent presentation at the Robbins Museum on November 14, 2012, titled The Search to Identify A 19 th Century Wooden Sailing Ship Wrecked in the North River The Massasoit Chapter Members were informed about the up-coming American Society for Amateur Archaeology meeting that will be held at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell. The title for December the meeting is Show and Tell

Massachusetts Archaeological Society Massasoit Chapter Judy Macioci was the November Meeting Presenter. Judy s Presentation was Based on Her Research on: Recipes from the Wild New England Native American Uses of Wild Plants During the presentation, Judy brought the Massasoit Chapter Members back to a more simple time to show how New England Native Americans used Nature s Gift s from the wilderness for cooking, ceremonial or medicinal purposes. Judy s knowledge of the Native American s Plants and there many uses was very evident in her presentation. The discussion was professional and her interaction with the Massasoit Chapter Members was delivered with a warm informative style.
Fall Lecture Series The November Series was Presented by Paul McCarthy The Search to Identify a 19th Century Wooden Sailing Ship Wrecked in the North River This was the last of the three Fall Lecture Series offered in Partnership between the Massachusetts Archeological Society and the Massasoit Chapter. On November 14th,Paul McCarthy presented his lecture entitled, The Search to Identify a 19th Century Wooden Sailing Ship Wrecked in the North River to the audience at the Massachusetts Archaeological Society s Robbins Museum in Middleboro. Paul s Lecture played out as a maritime mystery focused on the North River in Marshfield, Massachusetts. During his presentation, Paul gave clues to the members of the audience and walked them through how, where, and why this wrecked ship ended up in the North River. Paul s maritime research is outstanding! Paul s ability as a master story teller was very much on display during his talk.
