Left-hander Edwin Escobar gets the ball for Reno opposite Las Vegas right-hander Gabriel Ynoa. Yesterday s Game: The Aces defeated the Tacoma Rainiers by a 6- score on Sunday at Cheney Stadium. Mitch Haniger hit a three-run home run, while Braden Shipley won his second straight start. Reno opened the scoring with four runs in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a throwing error and a wild pitch by Tacoma starter Joe Wieland. Jack Reinheimer singled to lead off the frame before Sócrates Brito reached on Wieland s miscue. Both runners moved up 9 feet on the wild pitch to set up an RBI single to right field by Zach Borenstein. Haniger then punctuated the big inning with a blast to left that put the visitors ahead -. Tacoma answered with three runs in the home half. The Rainiers loaded the bases with no outs on a double, a walk and a single before Patrick Kivlehan laced a two-run base hit to right field. Luis Sardinas followed with a sacrifice fly to center to cut Reno s lead to one. Reno got a run back and extended its lead to - in the fifth on Kyle Jensen s two-out solo home run down the left-field line. The dinger was Jensen s tenth of the season, most among current Aces players, and gives him double-digit dingers for the seventh time in seven full Minor League seasons dating back to. The Aces tacked on an insurances run in the seventh inning. Mike Freeman led off the frame with a single through the left side and then stole second before coming around to score on Brito s RBI single to left field.
