KARNATAKA FOREST DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION Notification B9-Recruitment-Sports-CR-1/2015-16 Dated 03-07-2015 Recruitment of Meritorious Sports Persons The Karnataka Forest Department invites applications from the eligible meritorious sports person for the posts of Deputy Range Forest Officers, Forest Guards and Forest Watchers in various Circles / Divisions of Karnataka. The selections of the candidates are made by the Special Recruitment Committee under the recruitment of meritorious sports persons in the manner specified under Karnataka Forest Department Services (Recruitment of Meritorious Sports persons in the category of Deputy Range Forest Officers, Forest Guards and Forest Watchers) (Special) Rules, 2015. Mode of submission of Application:- On-Line Application Format, Notification will be published in the official website: www.aranya.gov.in. Candidates should submit their Application through On-line. Instructions to submit the Application will be displayed in the Website. The Candidates shall apply only one application for one post. Candidates should keep a copy of the Application with him/her. Application Fee (through online):- For the Candidates belonging to General Merit, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, the Application fee is Rs.100/- + Service Charge Rs.12/-. For the Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-I, the Application fee is Rs.50/- + Service Charge Rs.12/-. After submission of Application On-line, take a print of the Application and pay the Application Fee and Service charge at the Post Office which has E-Payment facility. 1. The number of posts proposed for one time recruitment at the level of Group C & D are: Sl. Eligibility Criteria: The applicants invited under these Rules shall qualify the following eligibility criteria. A. Age Limit: As on the Notification date 03-07-2015. B. Educational Qualifications: Cadre Deputy Range Forest Officer Forest Guard Forest Watcher Qualification A Bachelor s Degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognised university or equivalent. Must have passed II PUC or possess equivalent qualification on the date of notification. Must have passed SSLC standard on the date of notification. C. Physical Standards: Must possess the following physical standards (in respect of all the 3 cadres mention at Sl. 1. i) Height and Chest: Height Minimum Chest Minimum expansion on inhalation Minimum Exhalation Male: 163 cms 79 cms 5 cms Female: 150 cms 74 cms 5 cms ii) iii) Distant and Near Vision with or without glasses: Distant Vision Better eye Worse eye 6/6 mtrs. or 6/9 mtrs. Near vision Better eye Worse eye 0/6 mtrs. or 0/8 mtrs. Have each eye full field vision. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids or either eye shall be deemed to be disqualification. Hearing Test: (1) Rinner s Test (2) Webber s Test (3) Tests for Vertigo iv) Any defects observed during the tests (mentioned above) shall be a disqualification. D. Physical endurance and efficiency test: The candidates who found qualify in age, educational qualification and physical standards shall be called for physical endurance and efficiency tests as per Rules. Physical Tests Physical Endurance Test Deputy Range Forest Officer The Candidates must pass a physical endurance test consisting of a walk of 25 kms. in case of Male and 16 kms. in case of Female, to be completed in four hours. Forest Guard and Forest Watcher The candidates are required to complete the following event which constitute physical endurance test, within the time limit prescribed below:- Men 1600 meters run 7 minutes Women 1000 meters run 6 minutes Physical Efficiency Test -- To test the candidates physical fitness, stamina and courage, shall have the following items, which constitutes the physical efficiency test: Sl. E. Sports achievements eligibility norms: The applicants invited under these Rules shall produce the certificates, medals or ranks of achievement in the different events of sports specified below for the purposes of verification and preparation of cadre wise merit list against the stipulated number of vacancies for each sports / games in a ratio of 1:5 based on the order of participation and performance. I. Order of priority of performance of sports and games: 1. Gold Medal in Olympic Games. 2. Silver Medal in Olympic Games. 3. Bronze Medal in Olympic Games. 4. Gold Medal in World Championship / Cup for Seniors Grand Slam Tennis. 5. Silver Medal in World Championship / Cup for Seniors World 3 in Tennis. 6. Bronze medal in World Championship / Cup for Seniors World 3 in Tennis. 7. Gold Medal in World Universiade / All England Badminton Championship Davis Cup Afro-Asian Games. 8. II. The rank list of the applicants against each Sports / Games is prepared in a ratio of 1:5 based on the order of participation and performance of the sports and games as per the order specified under item 2 E I as per the guidelines specified in the special rules. F. Written Examination: i) The candidates ranked in the ratio of 1:5 against each sports / games will be subjected to the written Aptitude test in respect of the Deputy Range Forest Officers. The Aptitude Test (Objective type) of the standard of Bachelor of Science Degree including B.Sc. Forestry. The Aptitude test is conducted with a maximum 100 marks for a period of 2 hours. The minimum qualifying marks is 40. All Tests will be conducted at 9
