We always try to have a FUN WAY to WIN these prizes. This time it was a WHITE ELEPHANT / FISH

BOWL concept, so when your name was drawn as a winner, you reached into the fish bowl and pulled out a prize. Sometimes it was a white elephant you could throw back (Twice if needs be), but the 3rd pull you had to keep whatever you won, even if it was another White Elephant. This gave the winners some control over what they won, but also kept an element of LUCK (cause Chalking is still a necessity) involved, too. The GRAND CHALKER PRIZES are donated prizes by the sponsoring club. This time Drinks Saloon had great electronic toys for all us girls and boys to win. They were: Friday Night Grand Chalker Prize Phillip s DVD Player Bill Patrick Saturday's Grand Chalker Prizes 5 CD Home Stereo System Jason Dutton Sunday's Grand Chalker Prize Portable MP 3 Player - Susan Nolen Again, the GRAND Chalker Prizes donated by Drinks Saloon kept us with LOTS of scorekeepers down to the last game and plenty of spectators for the finals. Thank You Terry & Sue. The rest of the Chalker Prizes won this season were: Set of 24 gm. AND A FEW OTHER ITEMS we forgot to write down what and who won them. LOL Director s Notes: This 9th DFW Dartistry was an extremely exciting and FUN time. We INTRODUCED a NEW STYLE tournament A RATED DRAW. A tournament based on stats. The players season record, not sex, was the determining factor of tourney. During the season the players earned a Play/Place Ratio (times placed divided by times played).

We had 110 participants. AMAZING! After registration for the tourney, we counted out the number of teams (55) and drew team numbers for each person in the bottom half of the play/place ratio ; then we drew team numbers for each person in the top half of the p/p ratio, until everyone had a partner. This created very equally matched teams where the best team darts should win. The Draw process & posting of the teams onto the Bracket Board took almost 30 to 40 minutes. (Hopefully, it won t take that long next season). Other than a few complaints about Sandbaggers (players whose rating was lower than their known ability), the tourney was fantastic and we had LOTS OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK. So, we will be doing it again. The rest of the weekend tournaments ran as smooooth as silk. They better be, we ve had enough practice. The number of players at the Saturday tourneys were only slightly less than last season, but the BIG WINNERS were different. We had a total of 137 out of 189 qualified players join the party throughout the weekend. The dedicated Darters showed up as usual with LOTS of newbies getting in their FIRST Dartistry. It s always exciting to see new players stretch their comfort zone and join the fun. It was an awesome weekend with this season bringing a FEW unexpected upsets and exciting surprise teams & individuals taking the TOP 8 positions. That was FANTASTIC. All in all it was a Fun tournament with fantastic competition, fabulous pay-outs, and phenomenal darts thrown. Thanks everyone for playing, score keeping, and making this weekend so much FUN for ALL!. This season we tried the Director s Table and Main Bracket Board in the back room where the shuffleboard is at. With the great overhead lighting and a little more room with some privacy, the tourney ran smoother than I thought it would. We didn t put up any extra standards, yet somehow finished within a reasonable time on Friday night, with absolutely no problem on Saturday or Sunday. The food on Friday, Saturday and Sunday disappeared before most players knew it was there. LOL. Thanks Joan & Gene, I know you were up late cutting veggies, etc. NEXT TIME We will ask everyone to bring some kind of dish. There is always plenty of food ALL WEEKEND LONG, that way. I hope everyone TIPPED their bartenders and waitresses, because just cleaning off the tables and bars was a constant chore as the players & football fans drank the club out of a few type of beers during the weekend. DRINKS STAFF worked their buns off and did an excellent job all weekend. They deserve a hand. A special thanks goes to my co-directors (in NO particular order), Amy Ainsworth, Cindee Mitchell, Joan Bullard, Lisa Lane, Raylene Gleghorn and of course my wife, Sara (who lets me do this and still loves me, wow). The TEAM did a great JOB. Thanks everyone. During this weekend, we offered THREE CHARITABLE 50/50 pots to raise money for 3 family families affected by either Cancer or death. The families were: The Watkins family, to help offset the costs of Ray Watkins funeral expenses. The Ricky Jones family to help as Ricky goes through more Chemo for the Cancer found in his liver. Leanne is really stressed out trying to make ends meet during this time. AND, Donna & Roo Williams. Donna s cancer is back, again, and the prognosis is not good. Roo is also under tremendous stress although she tries to hide it. We raised $230 for each family. Thanks everyone for your donations. See you at the $10,000-10th DFW Dartistry Championships in April 2007. OH, YEA! We will be ADDING ANOTHER NEW TOURNEY this season, too. A RATED SINGLES tourney. Please watch the

Circuit s Forum for complete details of how this will work, plus when and where it will be run. Plenty of more darts to be thrown, MONEY thrown around and EXCITEMENT.. Thank you, again See you on the boards! David Lloyd, Director
