I hope everyone submitted a SERVE form online so that you may become superhero volunteers. Don t worry, there s still time to submit a SERVE form if you d like to volunteer. (Just visit http://www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/doc/1532/volunteer-services/about/about-376/.) And please be patient as the county continues to send lists of approved volunteers from the online SERVE form submissions to Deer Park. Much appreciation to those who took time to attend last month s Volunteer Breakfast & PTA General Assembly Meeting and completed a Volunteer Opportunity form. I hope you found it informative. It was a big success! I d like to also thank all of our terrific grandparents who joined us during Grandparent s Week or sent a message to their grandchild if unable to attend. Your participation gave your Ranger a chance to celebrate you and made them feel pretty special too. Don t forget to get your workout gear on and come join us for our first Family Health Night at Deer Park on September 23 rd from 5-7 p.m. We will have demonstrations, information about being healthy and much more! 2016 Hillsborough County Public Schools Spirit Days Get ready to show your school spirit Sunday, September 25 th at 4:05 p.m. when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Los Angeles Rams at Raymond James Stadium! Wear your workout gear & join us for Family Health Night We invite all Rangers to try Camp Gladiator boot camp or get your groove on with Jazzercise during our first Family Health Night on Friday, September 23 rd from 5:00-7:00 pm in the cafeteria and courtyard. Next Hillsborough County Public Schools Spirit Day will be Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Saturday, November 5 th at 7 p.m. Sno-Cones are Here Friday, September 9 th was our first Sno-Cone Day of the school year. It is a fun treat provided on pre-determined days in the cafeteria, following lunch to students who have purchased a $5 Sno-Cone Pass. Remaining Dates: October 14 March 24 January 13 April 21 February 16 May 12 If you have not had the opportunity to get a pass for your student, there is still time to order online at www.deerparkpta.org thru the Ranger Shop. The last day to purchase a Sno-Cone Pass for the school year will be October 7, 2016!

Annual Ranger Fun Run Keep on Clipping Box Tops & Labels for Education! During our first collection in August we had 984 Box Tops turned in. That s $98.40 for our school! Thank you for clipping and remember you can also clip Labels for Education on many other products such as Campbell s, Pace, Pepperidge Farm, V8 and SpaghettiOs to earn items for our school! How to participate: 1. Collect Box Tops and Labels for Education each month. 2. Place Box Tops in baggies of 50 and Labels for Education in a separate baggie. Label each baggie with student s name, teacher and grade level. 3. Turn them in monthly to your teacher. Students will kick-off the annual Boosterthon with a pep rally on Tuesday, October 11 th. There will be fundraising milestones every few days where special prizes can be collected by the students. Parents can support their students by helping them set goals, obtain pledges and donating too. The Ranger Fun Run will be held on Thursday, October 20 th. This is a fun-filled event where students run, skip and hop their way around courses set around the playground and field to motivating music. Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on their students. This is an exciting and positive way to raise funds for our school every year. Earn prizes: Prizes are awarded each quarter and at the end of the school year to the student who submitted the most box tops and the class with the highest percentage of participation.
