The game started out as a tactical chess match, with New York getting most of the looks but Dallas holding firm. The Red Bulls grabbed their first goal in the 37th minute on a well-worked set piece. Sacha Kljestan sent a free kick to the far post, and Sal Zizzo headed it down back across goal. Lloyd Sam finished the shot to give the hosts the lead. Kljestan doubled the lead early in the second half, off an audacious play initiated by Sam. The Englishman attempted to catch Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez out by attempting a one-timed long chip, but the GK was saved temporarily by the ball bouncing off the crossbar. Kljestan made a run into the box to follow up the shot, however, and blew through Dallas flatfooted defense to head in the rebound. Mike Grella iced the result in the 71st minute, as he headed in a bending cross from Felipe to make it 3-0, before Felipe added a tally of his own in the final 10 minutes. SUPER SUB After a slow beginning to the season, Gonzalo Veron seems to have found a knack for late-game theatrics. In the last nine MLS matches, Veron has produced seven points on two goals and three assists, all five of seven points coming in last five minutes of each match. Against Philadelphia, Veron, who entered the match in the 84th minute, tallied an assist on both of New York s goals (87 & 90+2 ). The Argentine striker then produced the game-winning goal against New England in the 90th minute. Veron came on for Bradley Wright-Phillips in the 83rd minute. Veron, coming on as a sub in the 68th minute against San Jose, recorded an assist on Royer s second goal in the 90+1 minute. Even though he wasn t credited with the assist, Veron created the chance in the 73rd minute for teammate Sacha Kljestan to record what would be the game-winning goal. Veron brought his late-game heroics in the Open Cup Semifinal match as he subbed on in the 59th minute and scored New York s first goal in the 75th minute to cut the deficit to one, 2-1 to spark the Red Bulls offense. The Red Bulls striker, who cam in the 64th minute, was called upon in the 70th minute to level the match with a penalty kick. He responded by putting away his first career penalty kick goal to level the New York Derby, 1-1. Both his assist against Philadelphia and his goal against New England were his first career game-winning assist and goal. CLOSING OUT MATCHES New York s unfortunate narrative in 2016 was that the team was unable to hold onto a lead or allow the opposition to take points away. Early on in 2017, the Red Bulls have seemed to have changed that narrative. New York is 13-0-4 when leading or tied at the 75th minute mark. (14 MLS / 3 Open Cup) New York is 6-2 in one-goal matches, including 4-0 at Red Bull Arena. FIRST BLOOD New York is 9-1-1 when scoring first this season. The Red Bulls were 13-1-8 when scoring first in 2016, including an 10-0-1 mark when scoring first at home. During New York s first three-match homestand this season, it did not trail one minute of the 270 total minutes of play. PARTYING LIKE ITS 2003 For the first time since 2003, the New York Red Bulls advanced to the U.S. Open Cup Final, defeating FC Cincinnati (USL), 3-2 on Tuesday at Nippert Stadium. It is just the second time in franchise history that the Red Bulls reach the Open Cup final, previously appearing in the finals in 2003. New York advanced to the 2003 Open Cup final after downing D.C. United, 3-2, which is the same scoreline the Red Bulls achieved on Tuesday. The Red Bulls needed a late game winner to advance to the Open Cup finals in 2003 and this year. Current NYRB II head coach John Wolyniec scored the game-winning goal in the 86th for the MetroStars, while Bradley Wright-Phillips tallied the game winner in the 101st minute. KLJESTAN THE CREATOR Sacha Kljestan has set new franchise records for assists and game-winning assists this season. Kljestan surpassed Thierry Henry in both categories, first for game-winning assists on April 22 against Columbus with 12 and then for career assists as a Red Bull against Minnesota on July 22 with 43. Kljestan s lone assist against Montreal on July 29 raised his season total to 10. He has tallied at least 10 assists in the last three seasons. Against NYCFC on August 6, Kljestan recorded his 10th career multi-assist match with two assists. He has tallied eight as a Red Bull and two with Chivas USA. Kljestan has recorded at least one assist in four of the seven last matches. Over that span, he has recorded eight points on one goal and six assists. Kljestan s four consecutive matches with at least one assist from July 19 to August 6 is the longest streak in MLS this season. Kljestan currently tied with FC Dallas s Michael Barrios for second in MLS with 12 assists this season. For his career, Kljestan has amassed 79 MLS Regular-Season assists, which places him 13th all-time in MLS history and second among active players in MLS. Kljestan is eight assists away from recording the most assists over a three-year span in MLS history. Wright-Phillips is one of the best goal scorers during the run of play in MLS as he owns a 0.63 goals per 90 without penalty kicks. He tops Taylor Twellman (0.59), Robbie Keane (0.57), Sebastian Giovinco (0.58) and David Villa (0.53). This season, BWP is the only goal scorer among the top 10 who has scored all 14 goals during the run of play, while the rest of the top 10 has recorded at least one penalty kick to their totals. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles has been a stalwart in net at Red Bull Arena since he came to the club in 2012 and Ryan Meara has been an outstanding complement in the Open Cup. Of Robles s 46 career clean sheets, he has recorded 30 of them at Red Bull Arena. He has a career 1.05 goals-against average at home. Robles has continued his trend of blanking the opposition at home, as he tallied four shutouts at Red Bull Arena to begin 2017. It was the first time in club history that the Red Bulls did not allowed a goal through the first four games of the season at home. Robles allowed a goal for the first time at home against Chicago. He tallied 415 minutes of scoreless soccer at Red Bull Arena to begin the season. His record in 2016 was 588 minutes, which is the third-longest in MLS history, that spanned from April 24 to July 24. The Red Bulls goalkeeper recorded the first road shutout of 2017 against Philadelphia on June 18. Robles tallied a game-high three saves. Robles added his second road shutout of the season, tallying three saves against Minnesota. Robles recently moved into a tie for 13th in MLS history for career shutouts with Bill Hamid at 46. Meara has been huge for Robles as a backup, playing extremely well for New York in the Open Cup. He has tallied two cleansheets in three Open Cup matches this season. Meara recorded a huge penalty kick save against Philadephia to help the Red Bulls advance. Meara has tallied four career shutouts in Open Cup matches. THE WRIGHT STRIKER With 24 goals last season and a second MLS Golden Boot, BWP put himself in a few elite categories. Per Elias, 18 players have scored 20 or more goals in an MLS season. BWP is the only player in league history to do so twice in his MLS career. Only three other players in league history have scored 15+ goals in three or more consecutive seasons. BWP had 27 goals in 2014 and 17 in 2015. With 14 goals on the season and nine matches remaining in the regular-season, Wright-Phillips looks to become just the second player in MLS history to record 15-plus goals in four consecutive seasons. Wright-Phillips currently tied for sixth in MLS with 14 goals, behind Ignacio Piatti (15), Sebastian Giovinco (15), Diego Valeri (16), Nemanja Nikolic (16) and David Villa (19), respectively. 6 NewYorkRedBulls.com 6

Since 2014, Wright-Phillips has won two Golden Boot awards and has finished no lower than fifth in the race. BWP became just the fifth player in league history to win the award twice. No player in MLS history has won the award three times. JUBILANT JULY The Red Bulls played their best soccer to this point of the season in the month of July, stringing together five-straight wins across all competition (4 MLS/1 USOC wins). It is the second time in franchise history that New York has enjoyed a perfect month with four or more wins, the other being July of 2000, when the team went 5-0-0 in MLS play. New York is 5-0-0 this July, with four MLS victories and a win over the New England Revolution in the U.S. Open Cup. Over the last five matches, New York has outscored its opponent, 15-3 and have won three road matches during the stretch. The Red Bulls five-match winning streak across all competition is just one shy of tying the franchise record of six, which has been accomplished just once in club history. ROBLES IRONMAN STREAK Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles continues to rewrite the history books, setting another all-time MLS mark on March 11 against Colorado. With an appearance against the Rapids, Robles broke the league s all-time mark for consecutive regular season appearances with his 142 nd. Robles surpassed previous record holder, Chris Klein. Robles has started and played a full 90 minutes in 165 consecutive regular season games. He broke Kevin Hartman s all-time MLS record of 112 complete games against Colorado on April 16, 2016 and set a new league record for consecutive starts with his 119th against NYCFC. Robles is the only player in MLS history to start 100 consecutive games for the same franchise. Robles surpassed former Red Bull Dax McCarty at Portland on August 18 for the franchise lead in starts by a field player or goalkeeper with 164. The goalkeeper also leads the franchise in wins (78), shutouts (46), goals against average (1.32), winning percentage (.588) and minutes played for both field players and goalkeepers (14,760). 90 Minutes Played in Consecutive MLS Regular Season Games 1. Royer has tallied at least one goal fourof the last five matches. With New York holding a 3-1 lead in the 89th minute against San Jose, Royer put the nail in the coffin with two consecutive goals in a span of 1:43 for his first NEW YORK RED BULLS vs. FC DALLAS career MLS brace. Royer connected with his second career brace against Montreal. Two of Royer s six late goals this season have been late-match heroics as his goal in the 76th minute against Atlanta evened the match and his goal against New England in the 74th minute was the game winner. Royer added to his late-match heroics in the Open Cup, as he tallied the game-winning goal in the 67th minute to knock NYCFC out of the tournament and advance to the Round of 16. Royer continued his perfect streak of penalty kicks as he cashed in his third against Montreal in the 25th minute to give the Red Bulls an early 1-0 lead. Royer, who joined New York on a transfer from FC Midtjylland, had one goal and one assist in six appearances last season. TIMELY LAWRENCE Each time Kemar Lawrence has recorded an offensive stat (goals/assists), he has made sure that it will affect the outcome of a game. On April 29, Lawrence tallied his first career game-winning goal in the 71st minute to extend New York s winning streak to three with a 2-1 victory over Chicago. Lawrence then assisted on Daniel Royer s game-winning goal in the 74th minute against New England for his second game-winning assist of 2017. Five Lawrence s six points this season have been game-winning plays with his first being the game-winning assist against Columbus last week. Of Lawrence s 14 career points, nine have been game-winning plays. He has tallied seven game-winning assists and one game-winning goal. For his country of Jamaica, Lawrence scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of the Gold Cup Semifinal match against Mexico. CONSISTENTLY GOOD The Red Bulls qualified for the postseason for the seventh-consecutive year in 2016, the longest stretch among major sports teams in the New York metro area. New York finished as the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the third time in four years with 57 points. New York achieved a 50-plus point season for the fifth straight year, a mark only three other MLS clubs have achieved. The LA Galaxy have the only other longest streak, with seven straight 50+ point campaigns. In 2017, New York collected all nine potential points during its first three-match homestand. It was the second time under Marsch that the Red Bulls accomplished the feat. MID-WEEK MATCHUPS New York has had its best fortunate at home in midweek games under head coach Jesse Marsch, owning a 5-0-1 mark with three clean sheets. The Red Bulls had one of their strongest mid-week matches against San Jose, scoring five goals in a 5-1 rout on July 19 at Red Bull Arena. New York had its first of four mid-week matchups against Sporting Kansas City, falling 2-0 on Wednesday, May 3. The Red Bulls have struggled on the road in mid-week matches under Marsch, tallying an 1-6-1 mark. New York earned their first mid-week road win under Marsch against New England, 3-2 at Gillette Stadium. Despite the road woes in the mid-week, New York has only been held without a goal in two of previous eight games. BRACE FOR IT Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice in the final five minutes to lead New York past Philadelphia on Sunday, June 18. Wright-Phillips recorded his first and the team s first brace of 2017 to give the Red Bulls their first road win of the season. BWP added his second brace of the season against NYCFC on August 6 at Yankee Stadium. Per Opta, Wright-Phillips 15 braces since joining MLS in 2013 are the most by any player over that time. Daniel Royer joined BWP as the second Red Bull to tally a brace this season. The Austrian winger recorded his first career MLS brace in a span of 1:43 against San Jose on July 19. Royer has tallied a brace two of the last four matches. Besides Wright-Phillips and Royer, three other New York Red Bulls players have recorded at least one brace in their MLS career, Mike Grella (2), Sacha Kljestan (2) and Felipe (1). 15&15 CLUB Sacha Kljestan climbed into an exclusive group within the club, becoming just the ninth player in franchise history to record at least 15 goals and 15 assists in regular season play. Kljestan joined current teammate BWP as the second active Red Bull to accomplish the feat as he tallied his 15th goal for the club against San Jose on July 19. Five of the seven homegrown players have been given the nod to at least start one game this season. Midfielder Sean Davis started the first three games of the season before coming off the bench against Real Salt Lake. The seven homegrown players combined for just 2,995 minutes through 24 games last season. In 2017, the same seven players have racked up 5,022 minutes. The 5,022 minutes are the most minutes for homegrown players on a single club in the MLS in 2017. Versus Real Salt Lake, three of the 11 Red Bull starters were homegrown players as Tyler Adams, Connor Lade and Alex Muyl found themselves in the Starting XI. For the second game in a row, New York implemented three homegrowns in the starting lineup, featuring Derrick Etienne Jr., Adams and Lade against Houston. The player growth and the trust in the coaching staff have shown in minutes played from last season to this season. For the first time in franchise history, five Homegrown players made an appearance in the same match. Muyl, Adams and Lade started for the Red Bulls and both Davis and Etienne came off the bench. New York implemented five Homegrowns for the second time against San Jose as Adams, Davis and Lade were in the Starting XI, while Etienne Jr. and Muyl came off the bench. On May 3 against Sporting Kansas City, New York had another first in club history, recording four Homegrowns in the Starting XI, which included Davis, Etienne Jr., Lade and Muyl. On April 28, New York signed NYRB II goalkeeper Evan Louro to a MLS contract as a Homegrown. Louro became the eighth Homegrown to reach the first team in 2017. New York is third with eight Homegrown players on their first team roster. FC Dallas leads the league with 10, while LA Galaxy have nine. BACK-TO-BACK ROAD TRIPS New York will embark on its third of four back-to-back road trips with Montreal (June 3) and then to Philadelphia (June18). New York wrapped up its second back-to-back road trip in the same week with Sporting KC on Wednesday and Philadelphia on Saturday. The Red Bulls fell short to both Sporting KC, 2-0 and Philadelphia, 3-0. The Red Bulls, unfortunately, did not come away with a point in either match. It was just the fourth time under head coach Jesse Marsch and second time this season that the team did not record a point during a stretch like this. Under Marsch, the Red Bulls are 5-11-6 when traveling for two matches or more. New York has come away with at least one point in seven of its 11 back-to-back roadtrips with Marsch at the helm. THAT S A LOT OF OFFENSE The New York Red Bulls recorded their 1,000th career MLS goal on April 1 against Houston when Bradley Wright-Phillips scored his second goal of the season in the 13th minute. New York became just the third club in MLS history to reach the milestone, joining the LA Galaxy and D.C. United. The Red Bulls achieved the feat in their 667th game as a club. Not only did the Red Bulls record 1,000 MLS goals, they joined the 1,000-1,000 MLS club. Along with the LA Galaxy and D.C. United, New York also became the third team in MLS history to record 1,000 MLS goals and 1,000 MLS assists. BWP HERE TO STAY The New York Red Bulls have signed two-time MLS Golden Boot Winner Bradley Wright-Phillips to a new, multi-year MLS contract, the club announced on March 29. With the new deal, Wright-Phillips will now occupy a Designated Player spot on the roster. The London native is the franchise s all-time leader in career goals in MLS (77) and across all competitions (85). He also holds franchise records for career hat tricks (4), multi-goal games (17) and game-winning goals (21). The London native joined New York in the Summer of 2013 as a trialist. In his first full season in 2014, Wright-Phillips won the MLS Golden Boot by tying the league s single-season scoring record with 27 goals. Wright-Phillips is the fourth player in league history to record three consecutive 15+ goal seasons, and netted another 24 last season to complete his pair of scoring titles. STREAK TO REMEMBER New York and goalkeeper Luis Robles rattled off an historic home shutout streak from April to July of 2016. A goal allowed vs. New York City FC on July 24 marked the first allowed at Red Bull Arena since April 24, 2016 in a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC. The streak goes down as the third-longest in MLS history, behind a scoreless run from the Kansas City Wizards, and another Red Bulls shutout streak from 2006. New York shutout Orlando City, Portland, Toronto, Seattle, Chicago, and Dallas at RBA in the 2016 streak. The Red Bulls and NYCFC ended in a 1-1 draw on August 25. It was the first time in 10 New York derbies that the match ended with either team taking three points or advancing in the Open Cup. New York clinched just their second appearance in the Open Cup Final in franchis history on Tuesday. The Red Bulls have scored three or more goals in four consecutive games (July 5 - July 29). It is the first time in franchise history that New York has accomplished the feat. It is the second time in franchise history that New York has enjoyed a perfect month with four or more wins, the other being July of 2000, when the team went 5-0-0 in MLS play. New York is 5-0-0 this July, with four MLS victories and a win over the New England Revolution in the U.S. Open Cup. Head coach Jesse Marsch is the franchise s leader in MLS regular-season wins with 45. Marsch became the club s leader after a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over New England on July 5. New York has 83 regular season wins at home since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010. New York has the most wins and the most points at home in MLS in that time. The Red Bulls had four Homegrowns in the Starting XI for the first time in franchise history. Sacha Kljestan set a new franchise single-season record and led all of MLS with 20 assists in 2016. He had five multi-assist games, including two two-assist games against NYC FC. Kljestan, then, surpassed previous franchise assist leader Thierry Henry on July 22 against Minnesota. Kljestan recorded an assist to raise his career total to 43. Bradley Wright-Phillips won his second Golden Boot in three seasons last year with 24 goals. BWP did not score from the penalty spot, making the feat that much more impressive. BWP made up for a slow start (no goals in first seven games) by netting 15 goals in the last 13 games of the season, and only being held scoreless twice in that span. Following a goal against Seattle, Wright-Phillips became the third fastest player to 70 goals in MLS history, behind Roy Lassiter (104 gms) and Robbie Keane (106). BWP earned his 70th in his 110th MLS appearance, against Seattle on 3/19. With an assist at D.C. on August 21, BWP became the eighth player in club history to record at least 15 goals and 15 assists in regular season play. Kljestan joined BWP as the ninth player to achieve the feat on July 19 vs. Montreal. Bradley Wright-Phillips is the club s all-time goals leader in MLS (83) and across all competitions (92). BWP surpassed Thierry Henry s club record with 20 game-winning goals, the most in franchise history. Luis Robles set the MLS record for consecutive appearances, 142, on March 11 against Colorado. Robles is the franchise leader in wins (78), shutouts (46), appearances in goal (163) and minutes played by both field players and goalkeepers (14,580) Ryan Meara s start in the Open Cup on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 was the first time a New York goalie other than Luis Robles has played a competitive minute since the CONCACAF Champions League in 2014, when Meara started against Montreal on October 22. New York s seven-goal performance against NYCFC set a new franchise record for goals in a game, and tied an MLS record for largest margin of victory. UP NEXT New York wraps up its two-match road trip against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, September 9. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET with coverage on Unimas and New York Red Bulls Radio. 9 NewYorkRedBulls.com 9
