The Bruins are 14-4-4 overall this season with a 7-1-1 record on home ice. The Islanders are 9-11-2 overall this season with a 5-4-1 record on the road. The Bruins are 0-0-2 vs. Atlantic Division opponents this season and they are 9-2-4 overall vs. Eastern Conference foes. The Islanders are 4-2-0 vs. Northeast Division teams this season and they are 6-10-2 overall vs. Eastern Conference opponents. The Bruins are playing a matinee game on the Friday after Thanksgiving for the 17th straight full season (1994-95 season began in January; no season in 2005-06) The tradition began on Nov. 23, 1990 vs. Hartford (4-3 loss) and they enter today s game with a 9-6-1 record in those games.
