IMPORTANT INFORMATION & FAQ S Can my child play in the same team as their friend? When possible we will make every effort to accommodate teammate requests. We want the children to have FUN and we know that a large part of that will include playing with their friends. Due to this we are almost always able to ensure your child plays with their friend as long as you let us know. Please make sure to write the request on your child s payment form. However if you decide to join up late (e.g. after training has started) the team that your child s friend is in may already be full. In that case we will offer them an alternative team. Who will coach my child/what are their credentials? All of our PCYC coaches are volunteers and the majority are parents of children playing for the Sandgate Saints. We greatly appreciate that they willingly give up their own time to train and coach Saints kids and as such they are under no obligation to obtain or hold official coaching accreditation. This is also not required for Mini Roos (U6 s-u11 s) coaches. However some of our coaches have chosen to undertake official coaching courses through Football Qld. All coaches have gone through the PCYC volunteer induction and online training and must hold a current Blue Card. Our current coaches have all coached for at least one year. When will I know what team my child is in/when they are training/who is their coach? The week after Sign On we will start allocating teams as by this stage we have the majority of our numbers. Most coaches will be continuing on with the team that they trained last year; others will be allocated where needed and to the age that they feel comfortable coaching. Once all of this is confirmed I will email each person individually with their team, coach and training time information. **Please note that Sandgate Saints teams train on Tuesday s starting from 4.30pm. Training takes place on the PCYC fields usually for 1hr. older teams may train for 1.5hr. How do we know the playing fixtures? Football Brisbane puts together and releases all fixtures. These are sent directly to Hannah who then sorts them out for each Saints team and emails a fixture list to each individual family. The document you receive will be the fixture list for your child s team only. Adjustments may be made to a fixture at any given time without us being notified. Therefore each Tuesday and Friday Hannah checks the Football Brisbane website for any changes. If there is a change to one of your child s fixtures the update will be either emailed to you (if a Tuesday) or sent via SMS (if a Friday). Is there training over School Holidays? We do not schedule training over the school holidays however some coaches may wish to do so. This is completely up to them and we ask that they consult you first. There is no extra cost involved if your child s team trains over the holidays. Who do we contact re. missing training/missing a game/an issue or complaint? Hannah organises soccer at Sandgate PCYC with season 2018 being her 4 th year in charge of the Saints. She is the primary contact for anything. Hannah makes the call if trainings or games are cancelled due to rain, arranges uniforms, handles all Football Brisbane communication, controls all equipment and most importantly keeps parents up to date with any information required. Please contact her via email hannah.parr@pcyc.org.au. On Tuesday s, Friday s and Saturday s she is available at the PCYC so if needing to talk to her directly call the club on 3269 5358. Coaches may also give you their contact information however this is completely up to them. If they are happy to take charge of communication for their team Hannah will include their contact information within the welcome email you will receive outlining your child s team and training time. In this case they will become your primary contact.
