These were tested during the summer competitions and were confirmed by the Sub-Committee for Equipment and Development: - There shall be no suit plumbing anymore - Hip band was reconfirmed at tolerance of 0 cm, also for ladies - Parts of 4,7,9, and 10 of ladies suit must be minimum 5 cm wide at the waist seam - Underwear: consisting of two parts, with short sleeves and shorts; material homogenous elastic; thickness max. 3 mm, at seams and overlaps max. 5 mm; optional zipper allowed for underwear, middle of the front part zipper obligatory if back protector worn inside the shirt, full length. All jumpers except the present top 10 in the current WCJ standings must participate in the qualification round. Confirmed by the Jumping Committee by vast majority. Modification of the existing starting procedure as a further safety precaution On behalf of RD Assistants Miran Tepes proposes a modification of the existing starting procedure as a further safety precaution. This would imply an automated restart for an athlete should the wind condition change dramatically (sudden wind gusts) after start signal had already been given. So far this was possible with the jury/coach decision (human factor). This would then be communicated to the coaches at the coaches stand, as their wish is not to disturb the athletes at start themselves. Paul Ganzenhuber comments that this proposal should go back to the Sub- Committee to be thoroughly analysed first, and then if accepted discussed at the Jumping Committee meeting, which was unanimously supported by the Committee. 5.4 Youth and Children s Questions The Chairman, Harald Haim (AUT) reports: see enclosure 2 Minutes Jumping Committee Meeting, Zürich (SUI), 06.10.2017-6 -

SHORT SUMMARY Sub-Committee Youth and Children for the meeting of the Jumping Committee on Wednesday, 6 th October 2017, Hotel HILTON, Zürich (SUI) FIS YOUTH CUP In summer 2017 again only one competition took place in Hinterzarten (GER) which was very well organized. 46 participants from 13 nations were above the long term average. Especially the number of girls (21 from 8 nations) was very positive again. It became obvious that we have to take care about the education of coaches concerning the equipement rules. FIS SCHÜLER GP RUHPOLDING Also the competitions in Ruhpolding were a big success. Training, two competitions and some additional program was held and the young athletes liked it a lot. 74 participants from 13 nations in the age 11 to 13 years (18 girls) competed in 4 age groups and the numbers were higher than last year. Thanks to the organizers of these two events for their support. Hopefully we can carry on with this in the next years in the same way and with the help of FIS. DATES SUMMER 2018 Schüler GP Ruhpolding: 20.-22.7.2018 Youth Cup Hinterzarten: together with Summer GP (not confirmed yet) Once more there is the invitation tot he NSA s to organize youth competitions (especially a Winter Youth Cup would be more than necessary). LADIES 54 ladies from 9 nations participated in the 8 competitions of the Ladies Alpen Cup which is open for all. In 6 FIS Cups we saw 64 ladies with points and in 4 COC competitions there were 50 ladies with points. These numbers also seem to be quite stable. NORDIC COMBINED LADIES Following the Strategic Paper from last year there will be held the following competitions in the upcoming winter: Youth Cup: 2 events (CZE,NOR) OPA Juniorinnen: 8 events (open for all nations) Junioren WM: Test competition (HS72/5km) COC: 3 events (EST, NOR, RUS) Once again we have to point out that there must be a very close cooperation between the two disciplines. Analysis of Grand Prix series 2017 In general the Grand Prix series was excellently organized and carried out. The number of participants and nations is still growing. In Klingenthal at the final event 21 Nations were entered. WISLA - starting time before 6 p.m. is not suitable without wind protection. HINTERZARTEN - no remarks COURCHEVEL - problems with the lift - the hill certificate was a temporary solution only, the organiser is obliged to address the Sub-Committee for Jumping Hill with this issue for a final solution - Equipment Control room was not prepared on time HAKUBA - start time for both competitions should be after sunset when the situation at the hill is more stable. - Equipment Control container should be closer tot he Exit gate area. - translater in the Jury room is mandatory in order to be able to communicate with all members of the Competition Management CHAIKOVSKY - windy weekend - wind nets tested during the weekend, the new one between the both hills worked out pretty well, but the rest of the wind nets (for normal and large hill) should be at least 1-2 m higher - marking of the hill for summer season should be fixed

HINZENBACH - HS markings has to be adjusted KLINGENTHAL - wind net on left and right hand site of the take off area is mendatory

Individual Remarks Kranj SLO - room for equipment control should be more close to the exit gate - mixed zone must be better organized BESKIDY TOUR Szczyrk POL - exit gate and mixed zone should be on the opposite side (downwards left) Wisla POL - speed measurement devices from OC did not work proper (changed to EWOXX) Frenstat CZE - walkway from exit gate to chairlift / public crossing - should be a solid bottom in the waxing tent Stams AUT - equipment control platform on the top should be more solid and better protected to all sides Trondheim NOR - meals for the teams could be better arranged in hotel Panorama (time and quality) Rasnov ROU - same remarks as in FIS Cup (Ueli Forrer) Klingenthal GER - the performance of the chief of competition was not good (TCM and also communication)

FIS Cup Analysis Season 2017/18 2017 Summer Ueli Forrer Dachsen, 29.09.2017 General remarks This Summer Season we had only four FIS Cups organizer, last year six. The number of participants was in average slightly lower then last year but still nearly to 80 athletes per competition. The same nations as in previous years have sent a high number of athletes to the different competitions (AUT, POL, SLO, GER). FIN is new in the top ranking. 19 Nations made FC points, only three were without points. Villach and Kandersteg were extremely good organized competitions. The sportive part of competitions was on all places good organized. The preparation of the competitions was not everywhere as we expected. Also in infrastructure is place for improvement at certain places. The athletes complied much better with the regulations so that we had less disqualifications FIS Cups are a good platform to test the work of officials Video distance measuring / Data service (EWOXX) - No problems and a very good cooperation - The cooperation of all team leaders was very good and they were always ready to help. Villach (AUT) HS 98 01./02.07.2017 Kuopio (FIN) HS 127 12./13.08.2017 Kandersteg (S) HS 106 16./17.09.2017 Rasnov (ROU) HS 100 21./22.09.2017 Number of participants Nations with points 13 77 7 10 57 10 16 98 9 17 83 11 Individual Remarks concerning the organizers Villach (AUT) Very good and stable organization Preparation in the weeks before competition excellent Competitions well organized Food for jumpers at the hill available free of charge Very good accommodation for officials

Kuopio (FIN) The extension of Hill Certificate in the last minute caused some problems in preparation of the competition This year no COC and so less participants as in the previous years Due to a very bad weather forecast for Sunday we decided to run both competitions on Saturday (Training in the morning, first competition over Lunch time and the second competition in the evening). Number of people in the organization very low Infrastructure on a minimum size, but ok Food free of charge available for the jumpers The hill in general was in good conditions, the mats in the outrun are getting older and should be replaced in the coming years Kandersteg (SUI) Kandersteg organized the first time a FIS Cup The organization was very professional and you could not see that is they did it the first time. The staff always ready to help und to solve problems in a short time The athletes got food and beverage free of charge Rasnov (ROU) The organizer organized a jumping week with Carpath Cup, FIS Cup (men and ladies) and COC. All in all it was good organized and they are willing to do the best But the organizer should take more care of the infrastructure so that the facilities will remain in good condition for the future
