Lots of hard work making it all happen, both behind the scenes & on the day of the tournament. Thanks, ladies! The kitchen team for our Canada Day Tournament provided a festive atmosphere with lots of Canada stickers & red & white decor. Thanks for your hard work! A heartfelt thanks to all the kitchen teams who provide the refreshments for our tournament a big job, done cheerfully, with a smile. How about that Gold Cup Tournament? Another successful event due to the hard work beforehand, as well as on the day, of the many club volunteers who make it all come together. A special thanks to Nicky Chamois (first time doing the luncheon) & Carol Gifford (first time as MC) who did an admirable job performing their duties. Thank you to our newsletter team, Mike & Sharon Costescu, for keeping us all informed of the news of the club & what s coming up. Lots of positive feedback received from members. Off to Edmonton for the Nationals!! Steve Naylor (S), Ken Bunner (V), & John Mackenzie (L) won Gold at the Regional Championships, Ontario East, in Belleville! Wishing this dynamite threesome all the best! The OSCC Men s-night-out bowling event was enjoyed by the participants, thanks to Chandy, Bob K, Robert, Gerry H, Clayton, Dieter, Dave P, Bill P, Larry, Carol, Gerry D, & Fred T for their coaching. We have our first fence sign, advertising the Deegan Hearing Clinic. When you visit them, be sure to say you re a lawn bowler for a good deal! With our hot and humid July weather, we are reminded to stay hydrated when out bowling. Don t forget to wear a hat & slap on some sunscreen.

EVENTS COMING UP IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER MORRISON TROPHY TOURNAMENT, MP This annual tournament is sponsored by the Morrison family, long time active OLBC members who continue to have great success in competitive play. They are showing their appreciation to the club by generously giving back to the game they have enjoyed so much. It is scheduled for Monday, August 1 st, starting at 9:30 am. WILMOT CREEK This is a friendly tournament that switches between two venues each year. Last year OLBC hosted and this year WILMOT CREEK willdo the honours. This event is scheduled for August 12 th at 10 am with a rain date set for August 19 th. As always, our hosts treat their guests very well. SHOELESS JOE S TOURNAMENT, MT This tournament will take place on Sunday, August 14 th, and will begin at 9:30 am. Check the posted sheets to sign up your team. OLBC HOT DOG BBQ & CORN FEST Sink your teeth into some delicious, fresh, home grown peaches and cream corn covered with mounds of butter and anything else to suit your taste. Also included to satisfy your appetite will be hot dogs on the BBQ. Guests are welcome. A minimum of 40 people is necessary for this event to take place so sign up soon if you intend to participate. A one game jitney will be played after the feast. Mark August 26 th on your calendar and try to arrive before 5:30 pm to take part in this fun event. OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, MT This tournament will take place on Saturday, September 3 rd, at 9:30 am. Be sure to check the sign-up sheets to enter your team. CLUB FUN DAY Monday, Sept. 5 th at 10: 00 a.m. All members are encouraged to take part in this fun day that includes many events requiring a variety of some unusual bowling skills. There will also be a few different versions of lawn bowling games. Hope you can come out and join the fun. PROGRESSIVE MF CHALLENGE This event takes place on Thursday, September 15 th, at 9:30 am. Come out and show everyone how progressive you can be! LEBLANC/WORSLEY/ROSSI/CLOKE MEMORIAL, MP This memorial tournament will take place on Sunday, September 18 th, at 9:30 am. Be sure to check the posted sheets to sign up your teams. SPECIAL END-OF-SEASON 2 GAME JITNEY All members are encouraged to take part in one of the final planned events of the lawn bowling season. So, on Wednesday, September 28 th, make a point of sharing with your friends some memorable stories of the season.
