There will be NO Clerk of Course on Tuesday. Keep your swimmer in the team area when they are not swimming! Team parents can t help when they can t find swimmers. Don t let them use up all of their energy running around. Tell them to save it for their races. The TEAM needs them to be ready to swim fast. If you are signed up to work, notify the team parent and they will get your swimmer to the Clerk of Course on Monday and assist on Tuesday as long as the swimmers are in the team area. Be sure to keep sunscreen applied to your swimmer. Feed your swimmer during a longer break between races rather than right before a race. Make sure your swimmer goes to the bathroom frequently so a last minute potty trip doesn t cause a missed race. HAVE FUN! That s why we re here!!! DO NOT LEAVE MONDAY WITHOUT CHECKING WITH THE COACHES ABOUT TUESDAY

Entry information: Entry times are to be submitted to the 100th of a second. If there are no 100ths included-0.99 will be added. (Rule 5-Section 9) A swimmer must have competed in ONE scheduled league meets to be eligible for Championships. Each swimmer may enter a maximum of 4 events, including relays. If more are submitted, only the first 4 will be entered in events. Each team will have unlimited team entries in the Freestyle and Backstroke events. A maximum of six entries per team, per event, will be allowed in the remaining individual events. A maximum of two Medley relays per team, per event will be permitted and two Freestyle relays per team, per event. There will be NO DECK ENTRIES (i.e. no day of meet entries). COMPETITION: Everything you didn t know to ask about Championships: Every swimmer (ages 6-10) entered into Championships swims on Monday morning. The GATORS warm up at 7:45 am. The meets starts at 9:00 am. Arrive EARLY for parking! The facility opens at 6:30 am. (Please refer to front page of packet for GATOR age group warm up schedule). This session is for all 10 &U swimmers. For all 10 & U swimmers there is a CLERK OF COURSE. All swimmers 10 & U MUST report to the CLERK OF COURSE when the announcer calls their event. What is a Clerk of Course? The Clerk of Course, located in the grassy area behind the blocks organizes all the 10 & U by lane and heat and then takes them to the blocks for their events. Each team provides workers for the Clerk of Course to assist in this endeavor. Our team parents are responsible for getting our swimmers to the Clerk of Course. The afternoon Monday Preliminary Session is for all Girls and Boys 11 & Older. Warm ups start at 3:15 pm. The meets starts at 4:30 pm. The facility will re-open at 2:00 pm. QUALIFIERS: After the preliminary sessions, this is how the Finals on Tuesday work: The top twelve swimmers in each event, plus two alternates (places 13 and 14) will qualify for finals. The six fastest will swim in the CHAMPIONSHIP heat (Places 1-6) The next six fastest will swim in the CONSOLATION heat (Places 7-12). Alternates can only be placed in the Consolation heat. Alternates MUST show up ready to swim in case one of the top 12 swimmers misses the event. This has happened in the past so be ready to swim! Swimmers who placed 1 st 6 th on Monday swim in the championship heat on Tuesday. Swimmers who placed 7 th 12 th on Monday swim in the consolation heat on Tuesday. Alternates (places 13 and 14) can only be placed in the Consolation Heat. It is the swimmers final time on TUESDAY which determines their place overall and awarded points to the team. SWIMMERS MAY NOT CHANGE CATEGORIES; that is, the highest any swimmer in the consolation heat may score is 7 th place, even if he/she swims a better time on Tuesday than a swimmer in the championship heat.

CHAMPIONSHIP RULES: On Day 2 of championships: if a swimmer misses their first event, they are scratched for the remainder of the day. Please make sure your swimmers get to their scheduled events. Results at championships are official thirty minutes after posting. Parents should check the posted results for accuracy of time and place ranking. Questions about any discrepancies from what you think happened to what is posted should be discussed with your Head Coach immediately since questions must be raised within thirty minutes of the time listed on the Posted Result. Questions about times and/or disqualifications need to be directed to your Head Coach who will then discuss the issue with the Meet Referee if necessary. Parents of swimmers are not to go directly to the Meet Referee. HOW DO WE SCORE THE MEET AND WHO GETS AWARDS? Medals will be awarded for places 1-6 (all events). Ribbons will be awarded for places 7-12 (all events) Ribbons will be awarded for places 13-18 (for 12 & Under individual events only). Heat winner ribbons will be awarded for both sessions on Monday. Trophies will be given to the top 3 teams in each division. There are two divisions. There will also be 4th and 5th place plaques given in each division. All swimmers will receive a participation ribbon. All new League records set during the two days will be awarded a certificate. The only exception to this is that all 6 & U races are swam as timed finals and the Boys and Girls 8 & U Freestyle Relay is a final race on Monday. (All other relays will be swum on Tuesday) 6 & U freestyle and backstroke will swim on MONDAY ONLY. IF YOUR 6 & U is entered in a Medley Relay, they will need to swim on Tuesday as well. If not, then all 6 & U are finished on Monday. ***On Tuesday, we swim FINALS of Individual Events and ALL OTHER RELAYS.
