Objective The objective of the MAP funding is to support and grow the game of golf by providing financial assistance to GS Member Clubs for programs encouraging and promoting membership development and participation at their club. MAP grants are made available to the Golf Saskatchewan (GS) through funding from Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Funds. Allocated funds are to be used by Member Clubs with the intent of encouraging and expanding participation in the game of golf through sport skill development, rules clinics, etc. ELIGIBILITY: Who can apply? A Golf Club applying for a MAP grant must be a Member-In-Good-Standing as per the Saskatchewan Golf Association Bylaw Article 3. If a Golf Club receives MAP GRANT Funding in a calendar year and subsequently becomes a Member Not In Good Standing, the MAP GRANT Funds must be returned by November 15 th of the application year. Eligible projects may include (but are not limited to): Eligible expenses to connect to the RCGA Network (On-Line Handicap System): 1) High Speed Internet Line in the Clubhouse 2) Monthly Internet bills 3) Computer system upgrade Junior, Women s, and Men s Development Programs Hiring a CPGA Professional for golf instruction clinics Future Links Mobile Clinics for Junior Players Automated External Defibrillator (AED)Training First Aid/CPR training Exercise program i.e. how to properly stretch before playing Course Management clinics Attendance to handicap seminars Attendance to Member Club Rules of Golf & Etiquette seminars Purchase of golf instruction DVD s Purchase of National Golf In Schools kit (kit and resource valued at 475.00) Purchase of range balls and offering a members training session or member guest day Advertising costs for an eligible project Other programs pre-approved by Golf Saskatchewan on a case-by-case basis Ineligible projects: Capital Projects - such as upgrading, maintenance to course, or equipment purchases Debt repayment Funding for team or individual entry fees Wage payments for staff Cash Prizes or Social Events NEW FOR 2012: Additional Funding Opportunities may be available for your club in the following areas: o Attending the Golf Saskatchewan Annual General Meeting o Your club has an active Junior Coordinator o Your club has a Handicap Committee and Handicap Chair o Your club is participating in the Card Activation Contest o Your club is sending a Junior Team to Golf Saskatchewan s Junior Provincial Championships.
AMOUNT AND NUMBER OF GRANTS Member Clubs may apply for one grant per year but may apply for multiple projects on one grant application. Maximum grant award is pre-approved based on a Club s membership numbers from the previous year, however projects are not pre-approved. Member Clubs will be required to find other sources of funding for a minimum contribution of 25% of the total cost of the project. This percentage could be made up of other fundraising, sponsorships, and in-kind donations. Thus, for a MAP grant of 500, the total budget would have to be 625. REPORTING AND PAYMENT SCHEDULES A Follow-Up Report must be submitted by September 15 of the calendar year. The form will be supplied with your letter of notification. 75% of the funds will be paid out upon approval of the project provided your course/club has submitted payment for the current years membership, by June 15 th. The balance amount will be paid once Golf Saskatchewan has received the Follow-Up Report on the form provided, accompanied by copies of receipts for eligible expenses. NON-COMPLIANCE CLAUSE All MAP grant funds the club has received in the current year must be returned to Golf Saskatchewan by November 15 th, if the following conditions are not met: 1) All eligible receipts for expenses must be submitted with the Follow-Up Report, 2) A copy of the Member Club s finalized membership list for the current year must be submitted, 3) A signed Membership Declaration Form for the current year must be submitted, and 4) Golf Saskatchewan membership remittance fees must be paid in full for the current year. The non-compliant club is subject to disciplinary action according to SGA Bylaw Article 3.
