ABOUT US PACQUET RACCORD TOURNANT (PRT) has been developing and manufacturing rotating unions since the mid 1970s. Previously working closely with steel industry professionals, the company has now developed a wider range of products thus adapting to new fields of activity such as foodprocessing, machine manufacturing, building, factory automation, sanitation, plastics moulding and many others. We work with many materials to optimize the effectiveness of the rotating unions we offer and provide our customers with technical suited solutions, whatever the conditions. Our standard products cover a wide range of industrial needs. However, if you feel that none of our standard products perfectly suits your application, we can also develop rotating unions on, whatever the size, the number of fluid passages and the operating conditions. You must know that our offer also includes maintenance operations (PRT and competitors). The device presented above is provided with two rows of angular contact non-contiguous balls and separation ring which prevents contact between the balls while ensuring better rotation in the process. Both greater spacing between the balls and angular contact provide improved resistance to axial and radial loads on piping connections and to fluid pressure. Dynamic sealing is provided by a mechanical seal using the operating principle of differentials. This allows to reduce both mechanical loads and wear between the two faces and thus increases the product lifespan. Sealing system with two O-rings (63.09 * 3.53) Optimum sealing ensured with Quad ring which allows static sealing and prevents dust and water from entering the system. ADVICE ON USE Our products are machined and assembled to the highest precision. They are designed to comply with the requirements of the applications defined in our catalogue. They must therefore be set up properly on your device. Poor installation, misuse or poor maintenance may cause premature wear of the seal and/or bearings. Sealing is achieved using components which are subjected to wear. Regular inspection is necessary to take action as soon as leakage occurs; please do not continue to use a rotating union once you noticed leakage signs. Our rotating unions are suitable for many industrial applications. However if you feel that any product from our standard range matches your needs, please contact us and our R&D department will find the very solution. Machining and assembly of P.R.T. rotating unions are done with the greatest care. Each device is subjected to a pre-delivery test under pressure in order to ensure optimum quality and reliability. Guarantee PACQUET Raccord Tournant (P.R.T. ) rotating unions carry a 12-month guarantee delivery date or a 6-month guarantee date of installation. Our responsability is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective components. Carriage costs shall be borne by the customer. Guarantee on parts is only applied following inspection by a P.R.T. representative. Guarantee shall be nul and void in case of excessive use, temperature or rotation speed and inadequate fluid transfer. P.R.T. will not be held responsible for damage of your equipment following use of defective rotating unions. Maintenance and lubrication PACQUET rotating unions are greased, tested and ready for use when they leave the factory. The rotating unions coming without grease nipple are lubricated for life. Maintenance merely consists of routine inspections checking for potential leaks. When the rotating unions are supplied with a grease nipple, we highly recommend to use high quality ball-bearing grease (Orapi 606 ou 620). Greasing frequency depends on rotation speed, temperature and general operating conditions. For any further information, please contact us. When your rotating unions are provided with a mechanical seal, fluid within the device is necessary to ensure lubrication of the contact faces. You shall therefore please avoid using your device when fluid circulation is not involved in the process. Wear of sealing systems is directly linked to the quality of filtration of the fluid being transferred. Please try to keep extra loads on the rotating union to a minimum and use flexible hoses. Please do not submit your rotating unions to undue mechanical constraints. 26
