The background to an independent Boccia Federation CPISRA Members Resolution October 2010 CPISRA Boccia Independence Sub-Committee established March 2012 (BISC) BISC Proposal to Members: BISFed Purpose: Provide International Governance for Boccia BISFed Vision: More opportunities for elite level competition Preserve the current Paralympic pathway Support the growth, development and accessibility of Boccia for all 1

BISFed s Objectives Promote, enhance and support Boccia as a sport for all Govern Boccia internationally Promote Boccia amongst decision-makers Promote and represent the interests of members Create a network of members; encourage contact and exchange of ideas regarding Boccia 2

Handover from CPISRA to BISFed BISC has been working on establishing BISFed since March 2012 Approved by CPISRA Executive Committee IPC agreement in principle Formal Transfer Agreement prepared All CPISRA rights and obligations in relation to Boccia transfer to BISFed Paralympic pathway for CP athletes preserved Classification, Rules: no significant changes CPISRA certified officials transfer existing status to BISFed Transfer effective 1 January 2013 Motion to CPISRA General Assembly on 15 th December 2012, that: Members endorse the transfer of governance of the sport of Boccia to BISFed on 1 st January 2013 14
