Clouds moved east and the Sun brought warming temps. There was some snow by the curbs that Kenosha Velosport and Officials shoveled and swept aside. Temps were in the high 30 s to high 40 s. Not much wind and the racing was very good. The Cat 3 race was a day of breakaways The initial break was a solo by Mark O Shea on lap 2, then 5 laps later joined by Jeff Rudy and Rick Amen. Two laps later they joined Mark. Then four laps later Karl Schult and Justin Armstead bridged the gap now there are 5 off the front. The pace quickened two laps later Jeff drifted off the break, when he was absorbed by the field Chazz Martin speed off the field chasing the break. A lap later Marc lost contact with the lead break and would hook up with Chazz. With one lap to go there were 3 in the lead break, 2 in a chase break, Michael Jenrich and then the field. At the finish the lead 3 stayed away, Chazz held off Michael, Marc crossed the line just before James Bird, Mark Serafin and field. Two lapped riders were mixed in with the top five finishers. This race held a good pace that no one could breakaway from; the field sprint after the last corner was spread out but near the finish bunched up.
