1. Events Saturday, 16 December 2017 Adams Farm, Walpole MA USA Event Description: We are excited to announce the Verge Sport BOSSCROSS p/b 545 Velo cyclocross race at Adams Farm, 25 miles southwest of Boston. We are pleased to have the cooperation of the Friends of Adams Farm and the Town of Walpole for this event. Amenities include timing by Velocity Results, neutral pit support provided by sponsor Velofix, sponsor Haute Coffee (food and drinks), a Team and Expo Tent row, use of the large barn for registration and warmth, and a Beer Garden with fire pits, all announced by DJ Ryan Kelly. There is ample parking at the farm. Course Description: The course graces the field and meadow portion of the 365- acre Adams Farm preservation in bucolic Walpole. The roughly 2km lap has more elevation than you think, frigid temperatures, tight turns, barriers, Belgian Steps,a Zonhoven-inspired sand pit, and the Fresh Tilled Soil flyover. The Verge BOSSCROSS presented by 545 Velo is run under USA Cycling (USAC) Permit (2017-2783). 2017 USAC regulations and penalties apply. The host USA Cycling club, 545 Velo, will hold a Kid s Race that falls outside the scope of USAC & UCI rules. 2. Registration Pre-registration for all categories closes at 5:00pm on 14 December on Bikereg.com. On-site registration & number pickup begins at 7:15am at Adams Farm. Registration for each race closes 30 minutes prior to that race. Riders who register on race day are subject to a late fee of $10. All riders in the USAC fields must present either a valid USAC or UCI license. One-day licenses will be available for Category 5 Men and Category 5 Women riders at the event for $10. Page 2

Race Age and Eligibility USAC 1A14. A rider s racing age for cyclocross is determined by the year in which the current season ends with the World Championships (2018). Take this year and subtract the year you were born. This is your racing age. For example, if you were born in December of 1990, your racing age is 28 (2018-1990). The Men Pro 1/2/3 event is open only to riders of racing age 19+; the Women Pro 1/2/3 event is open only to riders of racing age 17+. The Kids Race is open for children aged 5-12 years old. $32 Page 3
5. Equipment Mountain and fat bikes are allowed in the CX categories, but may not have protruding bar ends. Geared bikes are allowed in the single speed category if gear shifting can be disabled via zip ties or other means. Bikes with 3.8 diameter or larger tires (as marked) are allowed in the fat bike race. STUDDED TIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY CATEGORY. 6. Prize Lists EQUAL cash prizes for the Men s and Women s Pro 1/2/3 races are below. For all other races, winners will receive merchandise, trophies, and/or medals. And you ll like it. 7. If you are anything other than a Junior or Cat 5 racer and you get this wrong, DJ Ryan Kelly will notice. Riders risk not being scored in their race for misplaced or misapplied numbers. Please make sure to properly place the numbers according to the above guideline. Riders must ensure that their number is visible and legible at all times. Numbers folded, altered, or not well fixed may result in disqualification or a fine according to USA Cycling. Page 4
8. Course Map Each lap of the course is approximately 2 km in length and infinity km in awesomeness. 9. Start Area Staging/Rider Call Ups Riders must present themselves at the staging area near the start 10 minutes before the start of their event for staging and call-ups. The order of staging is as follows: 1. Pre-registered riders based on crossresults.com ranking 2. Pre-registered riders without crossresults.com ranking: order of registration 3. Day of registration riders, order of registration 10. Velofix Pit Area Only riders and rider support crews are allowed access to the equipment pits. Spectating from the pit is not permitted. The Pit Referee will have full authorization to deny access to any person who interferes or hinders operations in the pit. Riders may not cut the course to get to the pit. Riders must enter and exit on the same side of the pit, and may not go backwards on the course after the pit exit to get to the pit. 11. No Bike Wash There is no water at Adams Farm in December and therefore no bike wash, please plan accordingly. Page 5
12. Lapped Riders USAC 5G.1: Lapped riders who are permitted to remain in the race will all finish on the same lap as the leader and will be placed according to the number of laps they are down and then their position at the finish. But try not to get lapped. 13. Beer Garden and Coffee/Food The sun-drenched* Beer Garden will provide spectacular views of the start/finish line, the barriers, and the flyover. 545 Velo is procuring several excellent varieties of beer from Jack s Abby of Framingham. Catering is provided by Special Occasion Servers. Cash only. You must be 21 and have a valid ID to drink. Our permit doesn t allow alcohol to leave the Beer Garden or to be brought on the premises by race participants or spectators. Please respect this so that we can keep our license! Please drink responsibly. *Assuming that it s sunny. Morning coffee and pastries will be provided by Haute Coffee. The Chubby Chick Pea food truck will be on the premises for lunch. 14. First Aid First Aid is available near the registration area in the barn. A dedicated ambulance staffed by EMT will be on site. The nearest hospital is Norwood Hospital at 800 Washington Street Norwood, MA 02062 (781-769-4000). But don t need the EMT. And don t need the hospital. 15. Results and Awards Timing is provided by Velocity Results. Printed results will be posted in or near the barn. All protests must be lodged with the race officials within 15 minutes of results being posted. The top three riders in every event must report to the podium area for awards and interviews approximately 20 minutes following the completion of their race. Awards will last only a few minutes. Specific instructions will be delivered via the PA system. Prizes for the podium finishers will be awarded at the podium ceremony. Please try to make your podium if you win so we don t have to give the awesome podium prizes to someone else. For Men Pro 1/2/3 and Women Pro 1/2/3 non-podium finishers (positions 4-10) who are eligible for prizes, you may pick those up at registration. 16. Anti-Doping All races are conducted under USA Cycling and USADA anti-doping regulations. This isn t a UCI C1 race. Or even a C2 race. And while it s a USAC race, there won t be doping control. But don t be a dope don t dope. Page 6
17. Directions The venue address is 999 North Street, Walpole 02081. From Boston: Route 90 west to Route 128/95 south to Route 109 west (exit 16B). Then follow From Route 109 directions below. From Gloucester: Route 95/128 south to Route 109 west (exit 16B). Then follow From Route 109 directions below. From Providence: Route 95 north to Route 1 north (exit 9). Left on Route 27. Right on East Street. Left on Plimpton Street. Right on 1A. Left on Fisher Street, which becomes North Street. Adams Farm entrance is on the left. From Trailside Road in Weston: Route 30 east to Route 95/128 south to Route 109 west (exit 16B). Then follow From Route 109 directions below. From Route 109: Route 109 west to left on North Street. The entrance to Adams Farm is on the right. 18. Team Tents and Team Parking Team Tent spaces are purchased in advance through BikeReg.com. Each 10x10 is $20. If you plan on putting up a tent for your club or team you MUST reserve a spot in the Team Tent area. NO EXCEPTIONS. THERE IS NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING AT ADAMS FARM. See the Course Map in Section 7 for the location of parking. Parking is in a field. The conditions of the field will be temperature and weather dependent. All parking is at the vehicle owner s risk. We will have parking attendants directing you where to park. Please respect the attendants. They are volunteers and undoubtedly cold. 19.
