Australian SKUD Address 9 Mark St New Farm, 4005 Telephone 0400 749 020 movinrmc@gmail.com SKUD 18 Hull / Sail No. AUS 025 Cunningham adjustment To allow the crew to easily reach and control the cunningham adjustment on the mainsail. The system is continuous with an adjustment point on each side of the rope dash, to allow the crew to easily adjust the cunningham whilst on either port or starboard tack. As the crew has only one full strength arm (left) to pull on all adjustments for sails, this modification was required to facilitate accurate trimming. Relationship to control points Currently set up as a double pulley system on each side of mainsail leading down to the control point in the sub cockpit floor. 3 ml rope and small Ronstan pulleys. The cunningham is threaded through a series of pulleys from the port to the starboard side of the boat. The purchase in the system is 8:1 (4:1 on each side of the mainsail) leading down to the control point in the sub cockpit floor. N/A One-Off This system was added for the crew to be able to effective trim the sail in conditions over 10knots. As all the crews strength is the left side of her body (paralysis on the right hand side including right arm) it is necessary to be able to trim from both port and starboard side of the boat, when on either port or starboard tack.
