Evert Hartgers born: 8 May 1944 Evert does not see himself as an artist but as a hobbyist. There anyone can give judgment on themselves after seeing his work but I have a different opinion on: an artful hobbyist. Its affinity with the great painter Piet Mondrian he not insert. That is the biggest inspiration for Evert. His style resembles that of Piet Mondrian. Without myself to give it a name or perhaps a wrong name. Of course there are many more great examples that have been a great source of inspiration. Evert is started in 1986 and after he had visited quite a few museums has become fascinated of modern abstract art. Before that, he unbuttoned wall doilies and handicrafts. But the painting is started only after 1986. He has a preference for blue what in almost all of his work. Evert is very active and productive in the years from 1986 until 2013. His collection consists of more than 1,500 paintings and objects. Also, many study projects and try-outs. We are now working on getting all this to index and register. EVERT HARTGERS PAINTING ARTS Evert had a brain stem inflammation in 2014. This allows him to now hard talk and walk is certainly not more and is so shackled to his wheelchair. Painting is not more because he cannot control his hands. His oeuvre consists of ca. 800 signed/dated paintings, 500 (ongesigneerd) try-out paintings, 50 cigars boxes/boxes/and other (ca. 150) objects. These pieces are all to see by appointment, but are largely in the web gallery with a small selection in the webshop and on Facebook.
