We will endeavour to hold all the senior sections on the Sundays and the larger duet/trio/group sections will be held on Sunday 25 th March in Studio 1 where we have more seating capacity BUT please make sure you are available on all 4 days. Rules and conditions 1. No photography/video recording will be allowed at the Festival. This is a requirement of the British and International Federation of Festivals. 2. Competitors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 3. A time limit is indicated for each class. Performances exceeding this time may be stopped. 4. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse the use of any electrical equipment. 5. The Organiser reserves the right to combine or reorganise classes depending on the number of entries received. 6. Entries Fees (must be accompanied by a completed entry form): Individual 5 Duets 7 Trios 9 Groups 4-8 competitors 13 Groups 9-19 competitors 16 Groups 20 or more competitors 20 7. Age Groups: Primary Competitors up to an including year 3 Junior Competitors from year 4 to year 6 Intermediate Competitors from year 7 to year 9 Seniors Competitors from year 10 to age 21* Year means school year not age. *Professionals are not eligible to compete in this Festival. For the purposes of this Festival professionals are defined as those who derive more than basic out of pocket expenses within the dancing profession, either as a performer or as a teacher, or who attend a stage or dance school on a full time basis. 8. Competitors must be aged 21 or under on 31 st August 2018. 9. Notification: Competitors will be notified of the date and time of their class by 1 st March. Please ensure you are available to compete on the relevant day before submitting your entry form. 10. Please contact the organiser if you have not received your notification information by 1 st March. 11. Each competitor (excluding groups) will be awarded a participation certificate if they are not placed 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd. Groups will be awarded a group participation certificate.
12. Gold, silver and bronze Wenlock Olympian medals along with first, second and third place certificates will be awarded in each class to solos, duets and trios with each dancer receiving a medal and certificate. In the Group sections one Gold, Silver and Bronze medal will be awarded with the corresponding certificate. Additional medals may be purchased at a cost of 1.50 each plus P&P. 13. Props: It is a condition of entry that parents/teachers and/or carers must take responsibility for the supply and safe operation of the props at all times. The Organiser has the right to refuse any prop which it deems inappropriate or could potentially cause harm if not used correctly. 14. The DANCER OF THE YEAR (dancer selected from the Primary & Junior sections) and the DANCER OF THE YEAR (dancer selected from the Intermediate & Senior sections) will each be awarded a trophy and certificate. 15. The decision of the adjudicator shall be final and binding. Dance Section Rules 1. All performers must be warmed up and ready at least 20 minutes prior to the competition. 2. Make-up, hair and costume may be worn in any style appropriate to the dance but NO jewellery is to be worn, for reasons related to Health and Safety. Any performer wearing an inappropriate costume may be disqualified. 3. CDs will be collected prior to the start of each class cassette recordings will not be permitted. Appropriate lyrics will be permitted in the accompaniment please discuss with the section organiser if you are unsure. 4. In the event of inappropriate language within the music choice the performance will be stopped immediately. 5. Dancers will be limited to an entry of no more than two dances in each class in the duet & trio sections with a change of partner(s). Group entries are limited to three groups per school in each class. In the event that the number of entries dictate the Classical and Cabaret sections can be split down further you will be notified that additional entries will be accepted. 6. The studio door will remain closed while competitors are performing and while the adjudicator is presenting awards. 7. We reserve the right to combine or reorganise classes depending on the number of entries received.
