October 8, 2017 Six wildfires created a firestorm in the wine country communities of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. Many fled their homes with a moments notice with only the clothes on their backs. Entire neighborhoods were devastated as the fires spread overnight and continued into the days, and weeks, to come. It took 23 days to contain the fires. Over 200,000 acres and 8,900 structures burned, displacing tens-of-thousands of people. An estimated 3.3 billion dollars of damages have been reported for insured losses. Many families have nowhere to return. That is where we come in. March 11, 2018 The 5K to Rebuild Wine Country will take place on Sunday, March 11 on the Napa Valley College Campus. The Bay Area community is well known for its assistance to those in need. That is why we are inviting you to be part of this very special charity run or register as a virtual participant. Come out and run/walk with your friends and neighbors. With your support, we will be able to create an EVEN brighter tomorrow for the North Bay! Our Team About the 5K Run to Rebuild Wine Country Team REBUILD WINE COUNTRY Founded by the team behind Senses Wines, Rebuild Wine Country is a group of volunteer wine industry professionals working with Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County to raise $5 million to rebuild owned and rented homes lost in Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Mendocino and Lake county wildfires. rebuildwinecountry.org HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF SONOMA COUNTY Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With community support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Habitat homes are built with 90% volunteer labor. Ways To Get Involved There are a number of ways your company and employees can support the 5K Run to Rebuild Wine Country Event Corporate Sponsorship Form A Company Team Employee Participation With Brighter Tomorrow Events Management underwriting event costs of the run, more of the Sponsorship money will go to Rebuild Wine Country to aid Habitat for Humanity! Create a team for your company on our registration platform; your employees and their family members, customers vendors, suppliers etc. are all eligible to participate as members of your team. Encourage your employees along with their families and friends to register as participants for the event. If it is not convenient for them to get up to Napa on March 11th,encourage them to register as VIRTUAL participants, they will receive the t-shirt and race bib via mail and still support this great cause! Corporate Challenge Fundraise Volunteer Two Leader Boards on the event website will showcase the top 25 Bay Area companies that have 1). the most registered employees (live & virtual) and 2). companies with the most money raised (peer-to-peer funds raised + sponsorships + donations) Whether as a team or an individual, our registration platform makes it easy to set a fundraising goal and invite family and friends to donate to the cause.
