Doing something you love simply adds value to life: Softball is just one of those things. I ve been playing here for over 10 years and in those years I ve made amazing friends, watched children grow and made some great memories. These fields are a home away from home and a perfect outlet for me to come and unwind. Love the game and all my softball family. Nikol Pinon Concord softball is a good place to get out and have fun and a great place to meet new people. Always a great time playing softball in Concord. Great fun, Great people, Great league. Michael Bottini II Team manager Final Sin Tattoo I grew up watching my dad, aunts and uncles play softball at Willow Pass Park. I finally got to play at 18 and have been playing ever since, 35 years now. I have met lifelong friends, watched kids grow up, and enjoyed the experiences. My kids have been watching me play for years and are now playing with me. They made me promise not to retire from softball until they could play on our co-ed team. I look forward to each new season to catch up with all my softball buddies - even the ones who play against me. It s a great way to get some exercise, socialize and just have fun. Interested managers may get the list at: Adult Sports Office 5:45 p.m. 6:15 p.m. Mon Fri (league nights only) Willow Pass Community Center 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Mon Fri (closed on holidays) 10 www.cityofconcord.org/softball Via email sports@cityofconcord.org Q: What do teams need to have at the time of registration? A: Teams must submit full payment and the completed Team Registration form (indicating 2 choices for league preference) with either a completed Player Declaration form or an original Official Team Roster (fully completed with original signatures). A 50% down payment will be accepted only if the balance due is secured with a credit card, which will be automatically charged prior to start of the season. Q: Why is it important to register your team as early as possible? A: Concord Adult Softball is an extremely popular program. Space is not guaranteed and registrations are processed on a first-come, first served basis. Priority is not given to returning teams. Most nights will fill up prior to the registration deadline. Register early to increase your chance of obtaining your first choice night of play. We do not guarantee placement in a selected league or night, however, every effort is made to accommodate team choices in a fair and consistent manner. Q: Where can you get information on approved bats? A: Concord Adult Softball uses the Licensed/Approved Bats list distributed by USSSA. The most current information on approved bats can be found on their website. All bats used in Concord Adult Softball leagues must be USSSA approved. Q: Where do we get our officials? A: All softball umpires officiating at City league games are provided through the Concord Softball Umpires organization. Concerns or compliments can be forwarded to the Chief Umpire through our Sports Office or via email at sports@cityofconcord.org. Formal written correspondence is the best tool for getting your voice heard. We welcome your input. Feedback from participants is the best way for us to continuously improve the softball program. Call Concord Softball Umpires at (925) 689-8250 if you are interested in learning about becoming a softball umpire. Q: What is the playoff format? A: Summer softball season plays a double elimination playoff tournament that guarantees each entry two games before being eliminated. Fall softball leagues play a more traditional single elimination playoff tournament. Q: Where can I get a copy of the rules? A: Concord Softball League rules are available at the Sports Office, at www.teamsideline.com/concord, or at the Willow Pass Community Center. Q: How often are standings updated? A: Every effort is made to update standings at least once a week. The most current standings are posted at www.teamsideline.com/concord. Q: Can you play on more than one team? A: A player may participate on more than one team. Certain restrictions do apply. Refer to our Concord Adult Softball Rules & Regulations for the complete details on these restrictions.

Team/Player Classifications 1. Teams will be assigned to divisions by the Parks & Recreation Department using four criteria; prior league records, playoffs results, team roster and the overall strength of the team. 2. Player Declaration and/or Official Team Roster turned in at time of registration must accurately reflect the overall team composition and team playing ability. 3. All rosters, including Player Additions, will be reviewed by the league. Roster changes and/or Player Additions will not be approved by the league if they significantly increase the overall playing level of the team. 4. Roster Addition Forms should be submitted to the Field Supervisor (via the scorekeeper) prior to game time OR at the Willow Pass Community Center between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will receive tentative approval for the next game. The League Director reserves the right, at any time, to deny/revoke all roster addition(s)/changes. 5. The league reserves the right during the season to realign teams to a different division, deny/revoke Player Additions and/or disqualify teams from playoffs if needed to maintain the overall competitive balance within the league. 6. Players who do not correctly disclose their highest playing level(s) may be automatically dropped from the roster and will not be eligible to play for that team the remainder of the season. That player is also subject to suspension from all other Concord League teams. Flagrant non-disclosure may also result in additional manager and team sanctions. 7. In cases where a specific level is unavailable, the League Director reserves the right to place teams or players at the most appropriate level. 8. League Director reserves the right, at any time, to change the playing level/classification of a team or player when performance or roster changes deem it appropriate. Player Participation 1. Players may participate on more than one team if all of the following conditions are met: a. Player classification limits described above are not exceeded. b. The teams may not be in the same division of play on the same night. Example: Player cannot play on two different teams in the Friday, Men s D West Division. Exceptions: 1) The Women s program is only offered one night a week, therefore, women may play on up to two (2) women s teams in the same division. 2) In the event the division is a combo league, players may play on up to two teams in that combo division as long as they are not the same level of play, i.e. one team is a C league team and the other is a D league team. 2. Scheduling conflicts are the sole responsibility of the player. A player on two or more teams must notify their manager at the time of rostering which team they have chosen to play on in the event of a scheduling conflict. 3. League/Playoff schedules will not be adjusted or changed to accommodate such conflicts. 4. It is the Manager s responsibility to be aware of all other teams their players are rostered on. It is also their responsibility to make sure their team does not exceed classification limits as listed above. www.cityofconcord.org/softball 11
