Present printed and signed waiver form and copy of NBG card to satellite weigh in. Entry fee is $35 for the first division and $20 for an additional division. Walk Up Registration (March 23rd ONLY): Walk up registration and weigh in only allowed on March 23 rd, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the venue. Walk up entry fee is $80 for the first division and $50 for an additional division. Kata: Registration (on or before March 22nd): Enter tournament on-line at obukanjudo.org by March 22, 2017. Bring printed and signed waiver form and copy of NBG card to venue. Entry fee is $60 per team for each kata. Teams can enter up to three kata. Nage no Kata, Katame no Kata and Ju. Walk up Kata registration only allowed on March 23 rd, prior to competition start. Officials Meeting: Officials, coaches and managers, Saturday 8:30 AM. Head Referee: TBA. NW Class R certification is available by the NWYDK Referee Committee.
NEW! SHIAI REGISTRATION AND WEIGH IN PROCEDURE Step 1. Valid National Registration. Make sure you have a valid USJF, USA Judo, USJA or NGB card prior to registering for the Shiai or Kata competition in Eventbrite. Step 2. Register in Eventbrite. Enter tournament and pay on-line at obukanjudo.org by March 22, 2018. In order to keep the quality of our tournament, we are limiting the number of contestants to 250. Step 3. Satellite Weigh in. Between March 20-22, go to a designated satellite weigh in location and weigh in. Note, you must have already registered in Eventbrite and paid your entry fee prior to weighing in. Present your Eventbrite confirmation, signed waiver and copy of National registration card. See the list of Satellite weigh in locations at obukanjudo.org. If you wish to be designated as a satellite weigh in location, please contact Rod Conduragis or Mark Hirota at 503-208-3035, obukanjudo@yahoo.com. Satellite weigh in locations must email their weigh in forms no later than midnight March 22 nd to obukanjudo.org and deliver signed waivers and copies of NBG cards to check in desk at the tournament venue on March 24 th. Step 4. Report to the Mat. Having completed the steps above, simply report to the venue on Saturday March 24. Tournament opens at 9 am.
Kata Format (Competition Friday March 23, 2018, 6 pm) Eligible teams include all female, all male and mixed pairs. Teams may compete in one or more kata, though an individual may only compete in each kata once. Changes in the above may be made at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. First, Second and Third place will be awarded in each kata. Shiai Format (Competition Saturday March 24, 2018, 9 am) Divisions with 6 or more contestants will use a modified double elimination bracket, the champion will not have a loss. Divisions with 5 or less contestants will use a pool bracket Changes in the above may be made at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. No contestant may move down an age group. First, Second and Third place will be awarded to the Divisions indicated below. Divisions will be based on age (as of the day of the tournament) or rank and actual weight. Based on available contestants, every attempt will be made to ensure fair competition for all contestants. If a contestant moves up to a division by their own choice, they will be subject to the rules for that division. If a contestant moves up to a division, at the request of the Tournament Committee and with their concurrence, they will be identified and subject only to the rules pertaining to their original age/rank division.
