INTRODUCTION This manual has been prepared to present the principles and standards of judging required by the Code of Points of the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), as they apply to the Ontario Competitive Program. This manual is intended to be used as a resource for both coaches and judges. In principle, rules and definitions are based on the 2009 FIG Code of Points and the Canadian Supplement to the 2009 Code of Points. This manual is not intended to apply to competitions conducted under FIG rules. FIG judging requirements are not included. Judges preparing to judge at National and International competitions should refer to the FIG Code of Points and the GCG Women s Program Manual for complete judging requirements. Where no clarification exists under the Ontario Competitive Program, GCG rules and/or FIG 2009 rules apply. Additional clarifications will be documented and circulated in the Ontario Competitive Program Technical Clarification Bulletin, which will be posted on the GO website on a regular basis. Other basic and useful information has also been included in the various appendices. Individual coaches and judges are encouraged to send questions to the Ontario Women s Program Committee as appropriate. Recognition goes out to all those involved in the creation of this program. Thank you for your dedication, vision and hard work. Acknowledgement should also be made to the committee that will provide on-going support to the program throughout the season: the OCP Working Group consisting of Cathleen Buchner, Shelley Lefler, Paula Johnson, Diane Deslippe, and Elena Davydova. August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 4

ONTARIO COMPETITIVE PROGRAM (OPC) WOMEN S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS Philosophy The OCP should be used as a tool for competitive gymnasts of all ages and abilities. The program encourages both participation and excellence. It should challenge those athletes with limited potential, and allow them to move up to higher levels when they are ready to do so. It can also act as a feeder system for the athletes who show potential to move into a national program. By providing a seamless progression in the required difficulty as one moves up from level to level the program strives to be progressive, yet responsible. The OCP replaces any prior pre-comp, interclub, and provincial programs The OCP cannot be a duplication of GCG programs already in existence There may be components from the development program (ODP) used as an alternative type of competition for the 5-9 year olds The OCP will be compatible with both CPP and U.S. rules where appropriate, to allow Ontario athletes to compete out of province The OCP will focus on stability/consistency and will be used for an Olympic quadrennial regardless of changes to FIG except for those cases involving the value of elements or major changes that are imminent and necessary. Typical Athlete Profile: L1: These are recreational, non-competitive athletes. They practice once or twice per week and work through the CanGym Program. L2: These are entry level competitive athletes. The athletes in this category are learning how to compete a few basic elements, how to put routines together, etc. They are not eligible for Ontario Championships. L3: The athletes in this category are adding more A value elements to their repertoire of gymnastic elements. They are now allowed to vault using a springboard, go up to the high bar, do walkovers on beam and acro skills with flight on floor. They are not eligible for Ontario Championships. L4: This category is intended for girls who are ready to try more progressive skills. They will vault without stacked mats, attempt kips on bars and saltos on floor. They are not eligible for Ontario Championships. L5: The athletes in this category are doing A value parts only. They are vaulting handsprings using a springboard, allowed to perform kip and flyaway and are encouraged to do consecutive acro elements on beam and saltos on floor. Athletes in this category are similar to CPP Level 2. 9+ year olds are eligible for Ontario Championships. They may enter the open qualifier system or they may opt to complete at Invitational competitions only. L6: This category is intended for slightly more advanced gymnastics. It is an introduction to B value parts. Athletes in this category are similar to CPP Level 2. 9+ year olds are eligible for Ontario Championships. August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 5

L7: This level is similar to CPP Level 3 and to USA - JO Level 7. Athletes in this category are ready to try some more challenging B elements. 9+ year olds are eligible for Ontario Championships. This is the highest level in which a 7 year old is eligible to compete. L8: This level is similar to CPP Level 4 and to USA - JO Level 8. These advanced level athletes are being introduced to C value parts and salto vaults. 9+ year olds are eligible for Ontario Championships. This is the highest level in which an 8 year old is eligible to compete. L9: This level is similar to CPP Level 5 and to USA - JO Level 9. These athletes are the most advanced Provincial Stream athletes. Some of them may have goals of competing in the National Stream. They have mastered many B value elements and are now expected to compete C s. 9+ year olds are eligible for Ontario Championships. L10 This level is for National Novice and National Open categories. Refer to GCG for information on this level. Age Categories: 7 years old 10 & 11 years old 8 years old 12 & 13 years old 9 years old 14 + For Qualifiers and Ontario Championships, additional age splits for ages 10+ will be determined based on total registration of athletes over 100 as determined by WPC Oct. 31 st. A review will be conducted by WPC to determine whether further splits need to be made for Ontario Championships. Eligibility: Level 1 is our current CanGym Program (Recreational) Levels 2-9 is the Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 7 year olds are able to compete in levels 2-7, are not permitted to participate in the Open Qualifying System and are not eligible for Ontario Championships 8 year olds are able to compete in levels 2-8, are not permitted to participate in the Open Qualifying System and are not eligible for Ontario Championships 9+ year olds are able to compete in levels 2-9, but only those in levels 5-9 are permitted to participate in the Open Qualifying System and are eligible for Ontario Championships August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 6

Gymnasts are expected to remain at their apparatus in the designated waiting area until the end of each rotation. At the end of the competition, they should continue to remain in the competition area until called to line up for the awards presentation or told to go to the awards area (if in a different location than the competition gym). Gymnasts must ask the D1 of their apparatus for permission to leave the competition area (i.e., go to washroom, take items to parents, leave designated waiting area to speak to coach, get ice from medical personnel, etc.). A warning will be given for the first infraction of this rule. Each subsequent infraction will result in the deduction of 1.0. She must wait for a signal from the D1 to begin her routine (ex. Green flag raised, hand raised or name called). The deduction of 1.0 will be applied if the athlete begins before she has been called by the D1. The athlete MAY repeat the routine. EXCEPTION: Vault (see General Information Regarding Warm-Up Options) When gymnasts report to an event and after establishing the competitive order, the gymnast has the right to have her coach present before beginning her warm up time on the apparatus. Coaches will submit the order of competition for the gymnasts in their club upon arrival at the apparatus In competitions with group(s) of nine (9) or more gymnasts at each apparatus, the first half of the group will warm-up then compete. The other half of the group will then warm-up and compete. It will be split 5/4 or 4/5. There are four (4) warm-up options: Option A, Option B, Option C and Option D for Qualifying Competitions. To mark the vault runway near the approach to the springboard with Velcro or tape. Drawing chalk lines (lines for hurdle) is NOT permitted. A deduction of 0.10 for infraction of this rule will applied to the final score by the D Panel (Article 6) To stand in at vault, uneven bars and balance beam with no deduction during the gymnast s competitive performance, provided the gymnast is not touched At all apparatus in case of injuries or defects on the apparatus To address a verbal inquiry or clarification to the D1 (Apparatus Head Judge) about the Difficulty Score (D Score) and Execution Score (E Score) of their own gymnast s routine at the end of the rotation To file a protest with the Competition Chief Judge if not satisfied with the results of the initial inquiry. Protest must be based on the Difficulty Score (D Score) and Execution Score (E Score), composition deductions only. NOTE: If a coach inquires, informally or formally through a Protest regarding a Difficulty Score (D Score), or Execution Score (E Score), composition deductions only, and upon review it is ascertained by the D Panel and/or CCJ that an incorrect D Score was awarded, an adjustment to the D Score must be made regardless of whether it increases or decreases the D Score. To make an inquiry in writing about an athlete or coach from another club to the Competition Chief Judge using the Coaches Inquiry Form. The inquiry can only be made on the presumption that the rules were not applied or were applied incorrectly. 4.2.1 Standing in Position to Spot, Spotting and Lifting At vault, uneven bars and balance beam the coach may be present at the apparatus during the routine/vault without deduction. Coaches should avoid blocking the view of the judging panel when they are present at the apparatus At vault, if the gymnast is performing a yurchenko entry or salto vault, coaches may stand between the springboard and the vault table. For all other vaults, the coach may not stand between the springboard and the vault table. At vault, if the coach spots (touches) the gymnast during the first flight phase or repulsion phase, the vault will receive a Difficulty Score (D Score) of 0.00 At vault, if the coach spots (touches) the gymnast during the second flight phase or landing a spotting deduction of 1.00 will be applied by the D Panel At uneven bars or balance beam, if the coach spots (touches) the gymnast, a spotting deduction of 1.00 p. will be applied by the D Panel. August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 13

If a gymnast is spotted by her coach while performing an element and then falls off the apparatus on that element, the total maximum deduction applied is 1.00 If a gymnast is spotted by her coach while performing an element then falls off the apparatus on that element, the deduction for fall is taken only (not spotting) Spotted elements on uneven bars and balance beam will not receive Difficulty Value (DV), will not fulfill CR s and will not receive Bonus On uneven bars or balance beam, if a coach touches or catches a gymnast while she is falling from the apparatus there is no coach s penalty for spotting. The gymnast is deducted only 1.00 for the fall. On uneven bars and balance beam, if a coach unintentionally touches the gymnast without assisting her while she performs a skill, there is no deduction. The DV, CR and Bonus are credited as applicable. The coach may advise the gymnast during the intermediate fall period on uneven bars and balance beam After a fall on uneven bars, the coach may lift the gymnast to the HB and/or help her slightly to resume her swing If the judging panel is evenly split on whether or not a gymnast was spotted versus an unintentional touch, the decision goes to the benefit of the gymnast 4.2.2 Signals, Verbal Commands or Similar to a Competing Gymnast Coaches must refrain from giving signals and/or verbal commands that are considered coaching. These types of behaviours include technical cues such as: straighten your legs, jump higher, stretch through your shoulders, don t arch, jump higher, wide shoulders/arms, do your leap line etc. 4.3 Coaches are Not Permitted To block the view of the judges, however there is no deduction for this offence. Judges should request that the coach moves. To change the height of the apparatus without permission To speak to the D2 or E Panel judges about a performance during the competition To interfere with the rights of other participants To delay the competition To display flagrant, undisciplined and abusive behaviour 4.4 Sanctions Sanction will be imposed by the Competition Chief Judge for infractions by coaches as follows: 1 st Offence: Yellow Card 2 nd Offence during Same Competition: Red Card, immediate removal from competition In the interest of the athlete, when there is no other club coach on site, the penalty imposed will be financial (as established by GO) For a second offence, it is not necessary to have repeated the same offence If a coach demonstrates flagrant undisciplined and abusive behaviour, he/she may immediately receive a Red Card, be removed from the competition. All incidents involving sanctions must be reported in the Meet Report August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 14

Article 5.0 The Evaluation of the Exercises and Determination of the Score 5.1 General The current philosophy for exercise content and combinations encourages an emphasis on mastery of dance and acrobatic choreography, artistically presented In principle, the repetition of an exercise is not permitted. In case of interruption to the music by a technical failure of the audio equipment, or a technical fault with equipment the gymnast has the following options: Repeat her exercise without penalty and count the second score NOT repeat her exercise and count her first score (FX: NO 1.00 penalty for absence of music) The coach may request the first score before choosing one of the options. The vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise will be evaluated according to the Ontario Competitive Program for the gymnast s level. The execution /performance of an exercise (Execution Score) will be evaluated from a maximum of 10.0 on all apparatus. The Difficulty Score (D Score) will be calculated based upon the Difficulty Value (DV), Composition Requirements (CR) and Bonus specified for each level (Refer to GO OCP Apparatus Charts for requirements at each level) The responsibilities for the evaluation are distributed between the D and E Panels as described below 5.2 Difficulty Score (D Score) (Content) The Difficulty Score (D Score) on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise includes: Difficulty Value (DV) (Refer to 5.2.1 Difficulty Value for requirements for each level) consists of a specified number of most difficult elements plus dismount A = 0.10 B = 0.30 C = 0.50 D = 0.70 Composition Requirements (CR) (Refer to Articles 9-11 or GO OCP Apparatus Charts for the required CR s for each level) Bonus (Level 9 only) 5.2.1 Difficulty Value (DV) The DV are elements from the FIG Code of Points, GCG List of Elements, GO OCP List of Elements and GO OCP Apparatus Charts which are open ended and may be expanded as needed The D Panel will always recognize the difficulty value of an element unless there is a failure to meet the technical requirement of the element, in which case, it will either be devalued or receive no DV Devalued - If an element cannot be recognized as a preceding (or other) element (as listed in FIG Code of Points, GCG List of Elements, or GO OCP List of Elements or GO OCP Apparatus Charts), it then becomes a devalued element (i.e. no other description available in sources listed above). Refer to Element Recognition Articles 10.12 and 11.11 for examples. August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 15

The FIG Code of Points contains specific apparatus Table of Elements in which a multi-digit number identifies each element and value ranging from A to G Each level has a specified number of required elements as well as a maximum number permitted for calculation of DV. DV is calculated using the dismount plus the most difficult elements in the routine within the counting DV permitted in the exercise Required Number Maximum Number of Elements for Each Level Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Maximum: 0.30 Counting DV = 3 (Dismount & 2 elements) Maximum: 0.40 Counting DV = 4 (Dismount & 3 elements) Maximum: 0.50 Counting DV = 5 (Dismount & 4 elements) Maximum: 0.60 Counting DV = 6 (Dismount & 5 elements) Level 6 Level 7 Level 8 Level 9 Maximum: 1.30 Counting DV = 7 (Dismount & 6 elements) Maximum: 0.80 Counting DV = 6 (Dismount & 5 elements) Maximum: 1.80 Counting DV = 8 (Dismount & 7 elements) BB/FX- counting DV must be min. 2 dance, max. 5 acro Maximum: 2.20 Counting DV = 8 (Dismount & 7 elements) BB/FX- counting DV must be min. 2 dance, max. 5 acro 5.2.2 Recognition of the Same and Different Difficulties The same Difficulty Value can be recognized only one time in an exercise If performed a second time, the Difficulty Value is not considered (Some repeated elements are eligible for Composition Requirements (CR) or Bonus credit: Refer to Article 5.2.6 Repeated Elements) Elements are considered the same, if they are listed under the same number UB elements- are performed with or without a hop grip change on UB giants fwd and bwd performed with legs straddled or together, with hip bent or stretched Dance elements- with take off with one foot or two feet with the same leg position (BB & FX) [i.e., wolf hop (take off from one foot) and wolf jump (take off from two feet)] Exceptions: Wolf jump/hop and wolf jump with leg change are different elements. dance elements are performed in side or cross position (BB) NOTE: jumps with 1/1 turn or more performed in side position will be awarded 1 DV higher than in cross position (except 2.209, 2.309). If the same element is performed in cross and in side position, the DV will be awarded one time only and in chronological order. (Jumps with start from side position and finish in cross position, or vice versa consider as elements performed in cross position.) turns in the forward and backward direction land on one or both feet (BB) land on one or both feet or in prone position (FX) Acro elements- that land on one or both feet Elements are considered different if they are listed under Different numbers or August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 16

The same number, when There are different body positions (tuck, pike, stretched) in saltos legs in cross or side split in dance elements the description for body position of dance elements are different (ie. BB wolf jump vs. wolf jump with leg change. See exception above) There are different degrees of turns, ½, 1/1, 1 ½, (180, 360, 540 ), etc. (Refer to Article 7 for specific apparatus requirements) The support is performed on one or both arms or free The acrobatic elements take-off from one or both legs (balance beam) Mount elements are considered the same as elements performed within the exercise unless they have different numbers (FIG Code of Points) or are specified as different (GCG List of Elements, GO OCP List of Elements, GO OCP Apparatus Charts, GO OCP Technical Clarifications Document) 5.2.3 Composition Requirements (CR) The Composition Requirements (CR) for each level are described in the respective Apparatus Articles Each Composition Requirement (CR) presented receives 0.50 P Minimum A or higher elements* must be used to fulfill CR s as listed in the FIG Code of Points, GCG List of Elements, GO List of Elements or GO OCP Apparatus Charts. *In some cases, the Composition Requirements need not be recognized difficulty elements. Refer to Apparatus Articles 9 & 10 for specific examples. As well, in certain cases on balance beam, repeated elements may be used to fulfill Composition Requirements (Refer to Article Repeated Elements) To fulfill the dismount CR, the dismount must be one of the counting DV One element may fulfill more than one CR 5.2.4 Bonus Bonus is to be achieved through unique and difficult combinations on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise Bonus is available in Level 9 only to a maximum of 0.20 Bonus is awarded for the difficulty value specified. The 1 st and 2 nd D performed are eligible for bonus. Performance of a 3 rd or more D is restricted and will result in deductions of 1.00 and no credit for DV and CR (Composition Requirement) In order to be counted in the Difficulty Score (D Score), the element and/or connection must be performed without a fall. The bonus is given for the difficulty value specified. Bonus elements or connections may be granted more than once per routine Bonus for each apparatus is described in Articles 9, 10, and 11 5.2.5 Direct and Indirect Connections Indirect connections (only in acrobatic series on FX) are those in which directly connected acrobatic elements with flight phase and hand support (i.e. round-off, back handspring, etc. as preparatory elements) are performed between aerials and saltos on floor Example: This is an indirect connection Front salto tuck, round-off, back handspring, 1 ½ twist August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 17

Direct connections are those in which acrobatic and dance elements are performed without - hesitation or stop between elements - extra step between elements - loss of balance between elements - additional arm/leg swings NOTE: During dance connections, an arm swing is acceptable as the gymnast bends through the legs for landing and in preparation for take-off for the 2 nd element Extra Step: Without an extra step means the free leg of the first element, after landing, is placed immediately as the stand or take-off leg for the following element. Direct connections of leap connections or acrobatic connections in one direction, including backward or forward to sideward or reverse, are recognized when there is a Landing from the 1 st element, followed by an immediate take-off/rebound into the 2 nd element or Landing from the 1 st element on one leg and placing the free leg with an immediate rebound from the take-off leg into the 2 nd element Balance Beam: Connections of Acrobatic elements forward/backward (or reversed) It is a feeling of continuous dynamic rhythm without slowing down or stopping between landing and take-off There is not a rebounding effect, as is performed with two (2) acro elements moving the same direction forward or backward Examples: Direct Acrobatic Connection: One foot landing one (1) foot take-off Front walkover to cartwheel Back walkover to back walkover Direct Acrobatic Connection: One foot landing two (2) foot take-off Front handspring to back handspring Back walkover to back handspring Direct Acrobatic Connection: Two (2) foot landing two (2) foot take-off salto backward tucked to salto backward tucked Round off to back handspring Not Direct Acrobatic Connections Round off to round off Cartwheel to cartwheel in same direction (NOTE: Applies to Balance Beam) Salto forward landing on two feet to round-off August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 18

5.2.6 Repeated Elements Elements repeated in a direct or indirect connection on balance beam and floor exercise will receive bonus Acro elements may be repeated in direct or indirect connections Indirect connections (only in acro series on floor) are those in which directly connected acro elements with flight phase and hand support are performed between aerials and saltos Example: Level 9 Floor: +0.20 for B+C or greater saltos in direct/indirect acro connection C - Round-off, 1 ½ twist, round off, back handspring 1 ½ twist = 1 C value part and receives +0.20 bonus Acro elements repeated in a direct or indirect connection will fulfill the Composition Requirements (CR) provided that they are performed for the first time Example: Level 8 Floor: 2 different acro series, 1 of which has 2 saltos A A A - - Round-off, back handspring, salto backward tucked, back handspring, salto backward tucked = indirect connection (acro series with 2 saltos) Level 9 Beam: Acro series with minimum 2 flight elements B - Back handspring, back handspring = direct connection Exception: Level 8 Balance Beam: B+ dismount or A salto preceded by an acro B. A repeated acro B element connected to an A salto will fulfill the Composition Requirements (CR) provided the acro B has only been performed once before in the routine. B - A Round-off performed once in the routine, then round-off to salto backward tucked dismount = the second round-off has no value and award 0.50 for dismount the Composition Requirements (CR) Refer to Balance Beam Article 10.8 for a list of elements that may be repeated. Level 2-4 Balance Beam: Modified A element Backward straight jump dismount directly connected to and preceded by an acro A The same principal as above is also applied for Levels 2-4. A repeated acro A element directly connected to a straight jump backwards may be used provided it has only been performed once before in the routine. 5.2.7 Restricted Elements A 1.00 p. deduction is applied for each restricted element performed The deduction is taken off the final score by the D1 August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 19

Performance of a restricted vault will result in a 0.00 score At Invitational Competitions, the D Panel must consult with and receive CCJ approval prior to applying any restricted element/series deductions Any attempted performance of a restricted vault or restricted element on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise, regardless of the level of performance, will result in the application of the deduction Restricted elements performed in a connection/series will not receive difficulty value. The other elements in the connection/series will receive difficulty value. For the restricted series deduction, all elements within that series will not receive difficulty value. If a gymnast performs a restricted series the following will occur Deduction of 1.00 for restricted series deducted from final score 0.50 deduction for missing Composition Requirement (CR) if it is the only series performed no difficulty value credited in the series no bonus awarded no composition expectations awarded (as outlined in Specific Apparatus Deductions - Composition Charts for each apparatus) execution deduction applied Restricted elements will NOT be credited for Difficulty Value, will NOT fulfill Composition Requirements, will NOT be credited for composition expectations as outlined on the Specific Apparatus Deductions- Composition Charts for each apparatus and are NOT eligible for Bonus Execution deductions will be applied to the performance of each restricted element Refer to Articles for the list of restricted elements or series on each apparatus 5.3 Execution Score (E Score) 10.0 (Performance) For perfection of execution, composition, combination and artistry of presentation, the gymnast may earn an Execution Score (E Score) of 10.00 P. The Execution Score (E Score) includes deductions for faults in: Composition Execution Artistry of presentation The deductions for faults are described in Article 6 Table of General Faults and Penalties, Article 7 Technical Element Recognition and Specific Apparatus Articles 8-11 The Execution Score (E Score) is added to the Difficulty Score (D Score) to achieve the Final Score 5.3.1 Artistry This applies to both balance beam and floor exercise for all Provincial levels and is described as: creative choreography: originality of composition of elements and movements personal style: expresses personality and morphological types of the gymnast variations in rhythm sureness of performance (BB) ability to express idea (theme) of the music through movement: shows a relationship of music to movement (FX) It is recognized that there may be different interpretations of artistry and that this area requires more direction. Judges need to be consistent with regards to deductions for lack of artistry. Artistry may exist even within routines which fall outside of one s personal preference August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 20

Artistry should engage the onlooker in the performance If two routines are performed identically from a technical and content perspective, the artistically superior performance should be superior in score 5.4 The Final Score: Calculation The Difficulty Score (D Score) and Execution Score (E Score) are added together to achieve the Final Score. Neutral deductions are then applied by the D Panel to arrive at the Final/Flashed Score Scoring Example Balance Beam Level 6: maximum DV= dismount plus 5 elements to a maximum of 0.80 DV D-Score Difficulty in routine (2 B @ 0.30 each, 2 A s @ 0.10 each) +0.80 (DV) Composition Requirements (CR) (4x 0.50) +2.00 Bonus (Not applicable) D Score 2.80 E- Score (Total deductions to maximum of 10.00) 10.00 Execution, Artisty & Composition Average E Deductions - 1.75 E Score 8.25 Final Score (D Score + E Score) Difficulty Score (D Score) 2.80 Execution Score (E Score + 8.25 Final Score 11.05 Neutral Deductions (Time/Line/Restricted Elements applied by D1 from Final Score) - 0.00 Final/Flashed Score 11.05 Neutral deductions are applied to the Final Score by the D1 (Apparatus Head Judge) to arrive at the Final /Flashed Score. Execution Score (E Score) When there are four (4) panel judges, each D and E Panel judge submits deductions that are used to calculate the Execution Score (E Score). The highest and lowest deductions are eliminated and the middle two (2) deductions are averaged. Example: Level 6 Balance Beam Difficulty Score (D Score) = 2.80 A1 A2 B1 B2 Deductions 1.4 1.6 1.7 1.5 Average E Deductions (1.6 + 1.5) 2 = 1.55 Calculation of Execution Score (E Score) 10:00 1.55 (Average E Deductions) = 8.45 Difficulty Score (D Score) 2.80 Execution Score (E Score) + 8.45 Final Score 11.25 Final (flash) Scores are taken to three (3) decimal places (8.735) and are not rounded off. (e.g., 8.7777 becomes 8.777) August 2011 Section I (i.ii) Ontario Competitive Program (OCP) 21

Span between E Panel Deductions The allowable span between the two (2) counting deductions is 0.30 when the two counting deductions are between 0.00 to 1.50 0.50 when the two counting deductions are between 1.60 or greater When there are three (3) panel judges all three (3) deductions are averaged and the allowable span will be 0.50 points. The allowable span between the average deductions and the D1 s deductions is 0.30 when the two counting deductions are between 0.00 to 1.50 0.50 when the two counting deductions are between 1.60 or greater For judging panels of two (2) at Invitational competitions only, both judges will work together to determine the Difficulty Score (D Score), and then independently submit their deductions. The range between the two (2) judges must not exceed 0.30 points. 5.5 Recognition of New Vaults and Elements Elements that have been performed, and do not appear in the FIG Code of Points, GCG or GO OCP List of Elements or GO OCP Apparatus Charts may be submitted for evaluation. 5.5.1 FIG and Canadian List of Elements The Canadian List of Elements is comprised of elements submitted within Canada and performed by National level gymnasts The list also contains the most recent elements evaluated and recognized by FIG from International competitions and is valid at all GO sanctioned competitions In Canada, coaches may submit new elements to the Canadian Elements Working Group. The working group will determine a difficulty value for new vaults and new elements All decisions regarding value are communicated in writing to the respective coach. 5.5.2 Gymnastics Ontario OCP List of Elements The Gymnastics Ontario OCP List of Elements is comprised of elements submitted within Ontario and performed by gymnasts competing in the Ontario Competitive Program Elements from the CPP List of Elements are not valid unless listed on the Ontario List of Elements New vaults and elements can also be submitted at competitions to the Competition Chief Judge. The Competition Chief Judge, in consultation with four (4) D judges, including the D1 of the event where the element will be performed, and members of the OCP Working Group if present, will provide a provisional value and communicate this to the coach and judging panel of the event where it will be performed. The CCJ should attempt to observe the element/vault when it is performed. The evaluation and decision is applicable for that competition only and will be included in the meet report using the form in Appendix 12.2 Until a new vault or element is included on the GO OCP List of Elements, it must be submitted at each competition to the Competition Chief Judge for assignment of a provisional difficulty value as described above Coaches may submit new elements to the Ontario Competitive Program Working Group. The Working Group along with WPC will determine: Difficulty value of new vaults and new elements All decisions regarding value are communicated in writing to the respective coach. If given a value, the element or vault is then included in the Gymnastics Ontario OCP List of Elements. A revised list is then posted on the GO website.
