The Venue Hall 1 Meadowbank Sports Centre 139 London Road Edinburgh EH7 6AE Situated in central Edinburgh and compromising of a 25 acre complex of indoor and outdoors facilities, a former host of the Commonwealth Games is sure to be a good reference! A Map can be found at: http://www.list.co.uk/place/375-meadowbank-sports-centre/ 2. Entry Cost of entry for 2013 will be 135 per team. Regional and International teams will be eligible to participate in the competition, but will not be eligible to qualify for or compete in the British Championships. Entries must be made via the British Gymnastics website, or in exceptional circumstances, contact Stuart Sinclair at BG, 0845 1297129 extn 2521 for a paper entry form. For information on how to use the entry system go to BG website/teamgym/entry Forms. Please ensure cheques are made payable to British Gymnastics. The closing date for receiving applications is 12 noon on 1 st February 2013. Please note that any late entries will be at the discretion of the competition organisers, and will be subject to a late entry fee. 3. Podium Training Podium training is available at an extra cost of 25 per team and will be made available on the evening of Friday 1 st March, by pre-arrangement with the competition organisers, for those teams that wish to orientate to the apparatus. Depending on demand, time slots will be allocated between 4.00pm and 8.30pm on a first come, first served basis, and may be limited to touch warm-up times only. Please contact the organisers at teamgymscotland@btinternet.com as soon as possible to discuss requirements. Please note the organisers cannot guarantee allocation of your preferred time slot. 2
4. MUSIC Music is to be submitted in advance of the event and emailed to: eddy@audiolightsystems.com by the closing date of 1 st February 2013. This is to assist with the smooth running of the competition. Coaches must bring an additional copy of the music to the event. 5. Coach and Gymnast Passes Passes will be issued to Clubs at the event. Only two (2) coaches per club will be allowed into the competition arena, plus one chaperone if required. (As per Notice included below) Wristbands can be collected on the day of competition, by individuals from the registration desk. The Wristbands must be worn at all times, in order to access the competition arena, and are not transferable between persons. The tumble track will be positioned close to the team seating area. For safety reasons gymnasts and coaches must not enter/exit from the arena whilst performance and warm-up is taking place. It is the coaches responsibility to ensure that gymnasts remain seated during performance and warm-up and to respect other teams. Movement within the arena will only be permitted during team changeover. 6. Spectator Tickets Spectators will be in the tiered seating within the sports hall, with disabled access. Tickets are priced 10.00 for adults and 5.00 for U14 & concessions, U5s free. Tickets are available in advance, although limited numbers will be available on the day. To avoid disappointment, please book early. Tickets will be issued in advance of the event. Those with additional requirements should contact TeamGym Scotland. Please note that gymnasts will be seated separately from spectators, within the competition arena and that only gymnasts and coaches will be allowed access to this area. Spectators and participants should arrange a meeting point outside the arena should contact with gymnasts/coaches be required. Alternatively you can order online at: www.scottishgymnastics.org Anyone attending the venue who forgets their pre-ordered ticket will be required to pay the full entry price at the door. 3
7. Photography ONLY pre-authorised personnel will be allowed to take photographs. It has been clarified that they are allowed to take photographs of other gymnasts and are not restricted to their own club. They may not use these images for anything other than personal use. All who enter the competition are deemed to have consented to photography. Anyone who does not agree to this should not compete. 8. Tariff Sheets Current tariff forms (with the BG and UEG Logos) that are appropriate for Level 1 can be obtained from the British Gymnastics, Scottish Gymnastics. www.british-gymnastics.org / www.scottishgymnastics.org Level 2 and 3 should use the same tariff sheets and judges will make suitable allowance for the compositional requirements. Sufficient copies of completed tariff sheets must be handed in at the time of Registration. Amended tariff forms cannot be accepted after that time. 9x tariff sheets required for Floor 6x tariff sheets required for Tumble 6x tariff sheets required for Trampette 9. Jewellery Please note that the policy of jewellery for gymnasts AND coaches is zero tolerance. No jewellery whatsoever is allowed in the performing areas. Should a judge see jewellery during a performance, they will stop the routine as soon as it is safe to do so. When removed, the team will be allowed to continue, but they will receive a penalty. 10. Coach Qualification Please note that BG have clarified that it is the Club s responsibility to ensure that they provide coaches suitably qualified to the level and appropriate standard of the competing gymnasts. TeamGym Technical Committee - Competition Statement "BG require the Team Coach at Competitions has a minimum Level 2 qualification in TeamGym. Please note this is the minimum qualification, it is still the responsibility of the club entering the team that the coach in attendance has undergone appropriate training and is TeamGym qualified and competent for the skills being competed by their gymnasts in the competition. In addition, the TG Committee require that the second coach standing in on Trampette and any coach standing in on Tumbling, should be of appropriate level of training for the elements being performed. For clubs recently entering TeamGym, the named Team Coach at the competition can be from another club, with prior agreement from that coach" TGTC Agreed 28 th January 2010 10. Coach Qualification continued: It should also be noted that cycle 5 coaches are not qualified for the same skills as cycle 6 coaches at the respective levels. Should you require further clarification, please contact British Gymnastics. You are reminded that the rules of the event demand that TWO appropriately qualified coaches must be present on the landing area for trampette before the Head Judge in that discipline may signal the start of that event. For standing-in on the Trampette, there must be at least one qualified TeamGym Coach at the appropriate level. The second stand-in on Trampette must have either a TeamGym coaching qualification or a men or women s qualification at an appropriate level. Acrogym or other gymnastics qualifications are not appropriate for vaulting support. In addition, it has been agreed that the teams MAY also take a NON-qualified assistant into the area to look after the team (hair, dress etc) provided they do not coach the gymnasts. 11. Apparatus Clarifications All apparatus provided will meet with dimensions as stipulated in the UEG TeamGym Equipment Directives document (October 2009). Clubs are advised that the competition organiser will provide two TeamGym Trampettes for use during the event. It is the Coach s responsibility to ensure that equipment is appropriately placed and safe to use. 5
Vault Height The vault will be a TeamGym Vaulting table. The height of the vault will be as follows: Men Women & Mixed Level 1 165 160 Level 2 145 165 135-160 Level 3 135 135 It is the responsibility of the coaches to ensure that the vault is adjusted prior to their team s competition slot. 12. Trampette Disclaimer At present the rules allow for clubs to provide their own Trampette. However, British Gymnastics has advised that those clubs must complete a Trampette Declaration Form (enclosed) and present this form and the Trampette for inspection on the day of the event. The timing of the inspection is to be at the time of the Team s registration. The Trampette will be inspected to ensure it complies with the specification in the Regulations for the event and that the apparatus is in good condition. This inspection will not include or cover any modifications made to the Trampette after inspection. British Gymnastics have advised that only the designated club may then use this apparatus at that event. Please advise the competition organiser by email to donna2gym@hotmail.co.uk if it is your intention to bring your own Trampette, and complete the form enclosed. This form must be returned to the competition organiser. Please ensure your Trampette is clearly marked with your team name. The head judge will complete the inspection during team registration and mark your Trampette with a sticker to confirm it has been cleared for use in competition. 13. Awards Medals will be provided to teams placing overall in 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd. A further trophy will also be awarded for TeamGym spirit. This will be awarded to a team that demonstrates the best TeamGym spirit throughout the competition and will be voted for by the judges. This is open to all teams, regardless of level and ability and is aimed to promote good competition atmosphere. 6
14. Team Qualification There will be a qualifying mark that national level teams will be required to achieve to compete in the British Championships: 42.00 at National Level 1 40.00 at National Level 2 35.00 at National Level 3 25.00 for Disabilities Teams Qualifying teams should ensure they will be available to compete in the British Championships on Saturday 25 th May 2013. 15. British Gymnastics Age and Competition Policy The age range for the National Primary teams in the 2013 Qualifiers and British Final will be 9 to 12 in the year of competition. The age range for the Regional Primary teams remains the same at 8 to 12 in the year of competition. 16. British TeamGym Competitions - Trampette Declaration Form It is currently acceptable for teams to bring their own trampette to TeamGym Competitions. In future, this will revert to the use of equipment provided by the organisers. Until then, it is essential to ensure that the equipment is safe and meets the current regulations at that time. ALL teams wishing to use their own trampettes must complete the attached declaration and present it and the trampette for approval on the day of the event and in advance of the competition start time. Acceptance of a trampette into the competition does not constitute acceptance of liability for its use. This remains with the club and the coach in charge on the day.
