ICWL LEAGUE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, October 11, 2017 7:00 pm 9:00 pm Meeting started at 7:01 pm Treasurer s report o We have $14,615.29 in the account at the end of September. o We paid $3750 deposit for league championship facility at L Sports. o League dues need to be paid by the December meeting on 12/4/17. Clubs can pay online or send a check to ICWL at P.O Bo address on line. o You can pay your dues on line. Brian will send out procedure of how to do that to the league. USA Wrestling o Tony Black joined us for the meeting to discuss membership changes that are USA Olympic wide changes. All coaches and anyone who is a club director have to become safe sport certified which does not cost anything to become a safe sport member. The SafeSport course is online training module put together by the USOC. The course covers fourteen lesson areas that include, but are not limited to seual, physical and emotional misconduct; local and overnight travel; bullying and harassment. The training videos in total are approimately 90 minutes long and includes quizzes and a final eam. SafeSport is available for free at www.safesport.org Each team MUST send an email when their checks are completed to the board. (Safe Check, molestation, bullying, seual harassment) USA certification cost $49.75 per person for member ship. Requirements of the ICWL are to have at least 2 people become USA certified and 1 of them MUST be a Director. This all has to be done before your team can get their certificate of insurance (COI). Website login in has changed. Create new account. Put your ID # into claim your pre-eisting profile and proceed from there. What you upload to USA Wrestling can now also be used to upload to the ICWL as well. They are offering the ICWL to partake in the Mason Dion Duals. The ICWL has the ability to enter 2 teams if we want to. The Duals committee will reach out soon with more info. As of September 1st all of our ICWL Teams are insured for the upcoming season but in order for us to remain compliant and for you to receive you Certificate of Insurance you must complete each step in this plan. 2017-2018 USA Wrestling Timeline. IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES that each team must follow. 10/16/17 Update Team Information to ICWL for USA Wrestling Charter 12/1/17 Rosters submitted (emailed) 12/1/17 ALL Coaches Background Checks completed 12/15/17 Deadline for all PAYMENTS to USA Wrestling 12/31/17 FINAL Rosters due to USA Wrestling (Athletes can be added up to this date after would need league approval). STEP 1: TEAM Contact Information (DEADLINE 10/16/17) - Each team is required to update and verify their team information on the ICWL Website ( http://www.intercountywrestlingleague.org ) to ensure all data is accurate for the coming season. In the event the information is staying the same from last year you MUST still enter the site and confirm. Once the information is updated we will upload to USA Wrestling to update the TEAM CHARTER for the 2017-2018 Season. At that time a COI will be emailed to your team contact. Step 2: Coaches Background Checks (Deadline 12/1/17 or before your team practice begins): Each team is required to have at least 2 coaches complete and pass a USA WRESTLING COACHES BACKGROUND CHECK. This must be completed by 12/1/17. Here is the link that will take you to the site: www.usawmembership.com Step 3: All rosters must be submitted by 12/1/17. Step 4: All payments to USA wrestling must be made by 12/15/17 for all wrestlers to receive their USA Wrestling Membership cards. As of this month only 20 out of 47 teams have completed their certificate of insurance & team info. ICWL is going to start looking for Freestyle/Greco tournaments/duals as soon as the season is over. Team Gear o USAW & Nike agreed to put an on line store together for the ICWL offering singlets, headgear, shoes & warm ups. o Each team who orders gear will get a 20% discount & the league will get a percentage back as well. o The gear can be sublimated and customized. Rating System o There are three options F,0,1,2 (new/proposed method) F 0,1,2,3(current method) F 0 through 5 (old method)
o A vote was taken 2/3 majority voted to keep current rating system but clearly define what a 3 is. League will put a committee together to determine the definition. o It was also discussed that if you can t find a match for kid the match coordinator should send them elsewhere for that weekend to wrestle and get matches. Don t just say sorry we have no matches for you this weekend. o Rule of thumb for match ups 5-6 pound difference for match ups. Schedule o Every year the league struggles with teams abilities to host however, if you don t have more than 3 mats, you probably shouldn t host due to time restraints and team size. You should consider splitting a 3 rd mat if you are considering hosting. o If you would like to be a part of the hosting committee, sign up with Josh Hiembach tonight after the meeting or send email to schedule@intercountywrestlingleague.org. o Last year on the scheduling committee we had 14 teams represented. o If you have questions or problems with scheduling, send an email to schedule @intercountywrestlingleague.org o Teams should consider hosting on Friday nights and possibly Sundays as an alternative. o The league likes to have a preliminary schedule together by the November meeting but not finalized. o The teams that are going to host but haven t submitted yet have your dates in by 20 th -23 rd. Weight Certification o The first round of certifications will take place from 11/27 to 12/11. o At certifications there will be board member and/or referee from another area to verify weights along with the roster. o The second weight certification will take place the weekend of January 20 th during your weekend meet. If you have kids that aren t there on the 20 th then they must do it the following weekend meet on the 27 th. Duals Committee o Sign-up sheet see Josh Hiembach after the meeting. League Facebook Page o The league Facebook page has already been set up. It will be available to a closed group not public o All comments and posts will be reviewed. Constructive criticism is ok but no bullying! o You should advertise your tournaments, practices and clinics here. o The league also has a twitter and Instagram account.

The league decided that the reasoning for Ford s eistence is due to an internal issue with Haverford of which the league agreed was an issue they had to resolve. Resolution would not be ecepting another team that was splintered league so that league members can ask questions and decide whether or off of one of our eisting league teams. o Upper Merion is out due to a lack of leadership.
