November was a month of change and excitement here at Salina Country Club. The biggest change was obviously the moving of casual dining to Johnny s Up. I really appreciate all of the feedback, both the positive comments and the suggestions on what we need to improve. So far the experience has been well received with activity in the new space being increased. We do understand that there are concerns with noise and the children s area that we need to address and we will be working on both of those in the coming weeks. In addition to the new dining experience, the new lower parking lot and the new roof on the Poolhouse/Snack Bar are both welcome and much needed upgrades. I do want to thank all of you who were able to attend the recent Annual Stockholders Meeting in person, or sent in Proxys if you weren t able to be there in person. It was a great night and I want to thank again the Outgoing Board Members for their service to the Club: Daran Neuschafer, Blaine Spurney, Brooke Tuttle and Frank Roth. I also want to thank and welcome our newest Board Members: Mark Wedel, Sarah Payne, Melissa Ostmeyer, and Mike Junk. December is going to be a crazy month at the Club! We again have more Holiday parties booked this year than last year. We will be communicating regularly if certain areas of the Club will be unavailable for regular service. In addition, we have some fantastic member events planned for the month including: Breakfast with Santa NEW SCC Happy Hour in Johnny s Up Christmas To-Go Christmas Eve Dinner New Year s Eve Party Once again, thank you all for being members of Salina Country Club! It s a very exciting time for our Club and I m very grateful that you ve chosen to join us! See you at the Club, 3 Salina Country Club December 2017

Randy s Corner Please join us for the Pro Shop Open House on Thursday, December 7th from 5-7pm. We ll have complimentary food and wine, and all merchandise will be on sale. We ll also have some fun contests and drawings for added discounts up to 75% off, plus the Penny Raffle for a new set of irons! Enjoy a great start to the Christmas season and get your shopping finished early! If you are looking for last minute gift ideas, personalized Titleist golf balls are always fun and appreciated by the golfer in your family. Orders placed before December 10th will be guaranteed for delivery by Christmas and free personalization is included. Call the Pro Shop to place your order. Winter is a good time to look at re-gripping your clubs. Our annual re-grip special, re-grip your irons/hybrids and get the woods re-gripped for free, will run through January. Let us know if you would like us to look over your clubs to make sure they are ready for next season. Club storage, as well as men s and women s handicaps, will be billed out in January for next year. If you do not want either of those services for 2018 please let us know before the end of January. December is my last month as Head Golf Professional at SCC, I look forward to the coming years as Director of Golf and working with Rob Carlson as he takes over as Head Golf Professional. Rob is very excited about the opportunity and I m sure he will do a great job. Thank you for a great 2017 season, and for all the great seasons since I became Head Golf Professional in 1988. Salina Country Club is a special place and I am delighted to continue to be a part of it. See you on the links. Randy This time of year the crew has put the mowers away for the season and we are busy with projects that will make an impact on the course for many seasons to come. We have been busy with the tree work and cleaning up overgrown areas on the dam by the pond on #9. This month we also started to bring in various items like the yardage markers, ballwashers, and trash cans for a fresh coat of paint to be ready for next season. Also this month, the second cup will be placed on the greens. This year will be different than previous years. In the first cup there will be a flag like normal, but the second cup will be covered with a green recycled rubber plug. This way we can manage the traffic at each pin location and all you have to do is replace the flag at the hole you played. You do not have to move the flag to the second cup on the green. This will help keep both cups playable longer and reduce the traffic to each location. The second cup will remain on the greens until mid-march, about the same time we finish re-sodding the three fairways that we killed off. As a reminder, the fairway project will start in February weather permitting. In the meantime, the off-season cart policy is in place and I ask that you stay out of the fairways as much as possible. However, please still follow the green and red posts. The more you follow the rules now, the better the course will be when spring comes around. The crew and I will keep working hard to improve the course each day. We need your help with the divots and ball marks. Since the grass is not growing right now each ball mark on the green will not heal unless you take the time to fix it. I appreciate all your help and support. I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday Season from the Salina Country Club golf course maintenance staff! Chris Fore Up 5 Salina Country Club December 2017

December is here, but you wouldn t know it by the weather as of late. It was a beautiful 75 degrees for Thanksgiving! It could not have been a better day for all that joined us for the fantastic spread prepared by Chef Eric and his team. Holiday activities will continue to be offered for the members throughout the month of December. Breakfast with Santa is one of my favorite events. We will have a top notch Christmas Eve Buffet and of course will close out the year in style with our New Year s Eve Celebration. Reservations are now open for all these events. We look forward to seeing everyone there. We have lots of Holiday events taking place this month. With the new Johnny s Up area we will be using the downstairs location for more Holiday parties. This will make for fewer groups having to use the Men s Card Room. We do have three parties using the Men s Card Room this year on December 1st, 9th, 14th. We will post reminders of these dates to eliminate any surprise usage of there and in the kid s room area. We once again are offering Christmas Eve To-Go orders this year. Contact the club or me directly and place your To-Go order for Christmas Eve Dinner. Enjoy the good times! It has been a busy month for membership. The decorations are up and we are ready for all the wonderful events this holiday season. Our Stock Plus mailing went out this month and we have had a great response from the stock members for this incentive. I am also excited to present the Play Now Pay Later membership initiative for 2018. This program applies to all membership categories and is a great way to experience all that the Club has to offer. There is no initiation fee and the first month s dues are not billed until March 1st 2018 with a one year signed agreement. This is a great way to get new and former members involved in all the great happenings this winter at the Club. I will be hosting a new member and prospective member social in mid-january. We will have wine and cheese and a few wonderful appetizers. I will have more information coming soon. If you know anyone that would be interested in attending please let me know. I will do my best to make them feel welcome. Enjoy this festive holiday season with your friends and family. Happy Holidays, Melissa 9 Salina Country Club December 2017

Hello Everyone! November has been a great start to the holiday happenings here at SCC. Where should I begin? We started with the relocation of Johnny s Place to Johnny s Up. I think the two restaurant spaces together make the space appear more lively and full of activity. Shortly after the launch of Johnny s Up we brought you our Sushi Social series. We have run it two times and evaluated our performance. We plan to simplify the offerings a bit and adjust the service aspect so you have a better experience. For now, we will put the social on hold during the month of December and re-launch in January 2018. Please feel free to offer suggestions for our Sushi Socials via comment cards or email me at eshelton@troon.com in the meantime. Thank you to all that came to our Veterans Day Dinner. It was great to see everyone and pay homage to the service men and women that keep us safe and secure. Thanksgiving Brunch was a success! Thank you for allowing us to host your families and take the stress off entertaining at your home. The Candlelight Dinner in The Grill Room was a perfect ending to a fabulous November at SCC. Keep an eye out for the December calendar. December will be a great month. The Food and Beverage team has the Christmas To-Go order forms online, and we are ready to start taking orders. Please keep us in mind for your New Year s Eve plans. This year our food stations will be even more exciting. We are thinking of fresh new chef stations like house made ramen to an ice cream sandwich bar! I can t wait to celebrate the new year with you all. Best Wishes.
