Pasadena Strawberry Festival SPONSORED BY THE SAN JACINTO DAY FOUNDATION The City of Pasadena in partnership with the Pasadena Strawberry Festival will be holding its annual Holiday Lighted Parade. It s time to get those creative ideas flowing, find those decorations and lights, shine up your vehicles and motorcycles, hitch the horses, and wagons, plan to be a part of the 2012 Holiday Lighted Parade. This year s parade will be held on Saturday, December 1 st at 7:00PM on Fairmont Pkwy from Preston to Beltway (Lowes). All entry forms must be returned by November 23 rd. NO ENTRY FEE IS REQUIRED. PARADE ROUTE: The Parade Route will be one mile long; the parade will begin at 7:00 PM in old Randall s parking lot corner of Preston and Fairmont, proceeding down Fairmont to Lowes and ends in the Lowes Parking lot. STAGING: Check- In: Parking lot (old Randall s grocery store) on Preston and Fairmont. When arriving: go to the Check in Table first to sign in and pick up your number, then proceed to line up area. Line up: 4:00 PM (You can decorate in the parking lot.) Starting Time: 7:00 PM Sharp! Judging: Before the Parade at 6:00PM ENTRIES: All entries (Wagons, Trucks, Trailers, Floats, Motorcycles, Horse Drawn, etc) must be Decorated and Lighted. All entries are responsible for power to light their entry. You have the option to play Holiday Music. NO SANTA CLAUS. The City of Pasadena will furnish the Santa Claus. NO POLITICAL ADVERTISING. RULES OF THE ROAD ABSOLUTELY NO THROWING OF CANDY, GUM, - ETC. from any entry in the parade. Doing so will cause immediate expulsion from the Parade. This is a City of Pasadena rule and is strictly for safety reasons. Only those participants who are walking will be allowed to pass things out to the spectators along the parade route. If there are people walking with your float, truck, etc., there will be NO JUMPING ON & OFF ANY MOVING VEHICLE. Walkers will not be allowed to walk beside the moving vehicles; for safety reasons they MUST be BEHIND OR IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLES. Children under 5 may walk in the parade with an adult. Children who are riding on floats, trailers, trucks, etc. must be accompanied by adults at all times. There is to be no littering either at the line up or along the parade route. If you work on your entry at the line up, please be sure to take everything with you. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the line up area or Parade Route. Number placement will be explained at time of check in. ENTRY FORM - Please complete the entire form. All entries must be received no later than 5:00 PM on November 23 rd. AWARDS Trophies in 4 different categories will be presented at Judging time (6:00 pm). HOLD HARMLESS DECLARATION - All participants must sign a release holding the Pasadena Strawberry Festival, San Jacinto Day Foundation and the City of Pasadena harmless for any loss of personal injury or property damage during the parade. Each participant or legal guardian of a minor participating must sign the release. Please feel free to copy the release form enclosed for your participants if necessary. Please assign someone to collect & turn in the releases at check in, if you do not send them in with your Entry Form. The Parade Committee reserves the right to reject any entry which they deem inappropriate. Groups that appear to be participating for the purpose of protesting for or against a cause are not representative this holiday celebration. To Indemnify means to agree to assume the liability in a situation thereby relieving the other party of responsibility. I grant permission to be Photographed or Interviewed in connection with PSF/SJDF. Such photograph or interviews may be used for television, film, video, visual, graphic or printed media to demonstrated the nature of the PSF/SJDF and to further the aims of PSF/SJDF. I agree that this Release,Indemnify Agreement, Hold Harmless will be governed by the laws of Texas, and that jurisdiction and venue for resolution of any dispute regarding this agreement shall lie in a Texas State Court in Harris County, Texas.
