The Vikings face Widener on Saturday at 2 p.m. Eastern time. Lawrence then takes on Randolph at noon Eastern time on Sunday. Vikings and Randolph. LAST GAME Kayla Morrissey s double-double led Grinnell to a 65-44 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence on Saturday at Alexander Gymnasium. Lawrence freshman Shonell Benjamin posted her first career doubledouble with season highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings. The Pioneers got the advantage in the second quarter and then stretched the lead in the third period. Lawrence wasn t able to mount a comeback in the second half. The Vikings hung with Grinnell early as Lawrence finished the first quarter on an 8-2 run that tied the game at 10-10 after one. After Benjamin s three-point play to start the second, Lawrence grabbed a 13-12 advantage. Grinnell took control in the final five minutes of the second quarter as 3-pointers from Ariel Keller, Sophia Gatton and Daria Guzzo staked the Pioneers to a 30-21 lead at the half. Grinnell steadily increased the advantage in the third quarter and led by as many as 19 points before settling for a 50-32 lead after three. The Pioneers would lead by as many as 24 points in the final quarter. Foul trouble plagued Lawrence lone player with size, Leah Reeves. She managed eight points on 4-of- 5 shooting to go with four rebounds in just 14 minutes before fouling out. The Vikings also were ice cold from beyond the arc, hitting just 1-of-16 from long range. VIKINGS UPDATE }The Vikings have really gone cold from distance over the past three games. After shooting 27.5 percent (11-40) from 3-point range in the first three games, Lawrence has connected on just 6-of-44 shots (13.6 percent) from long range in the last three contests. Benjamin was 4-for-8 from the floor and 7-of- 10 from the foul line on her way to 15 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, the second time she has done that this season. Benjamin is now averaging 4.5 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game. }Junior guard Olivia Hoesley (Eau Claire, Wis./North) leads a balanced attack for the Vikings. Hoesley is averaging 7.5 points per game and is one of seven players averaging at least 4.5 points per game. }Sophomore forward Leah Reeves (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) looked like she was set to have a huge game against Grinnell but foul trouble limited her to just 14 minutes before she fouled out. Reeves scored eight points on 4-of-5 shooting and grabbed four rebounds. She s now averaging 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. }Rookie guard Grace Minogue (Chicago, Ill./Jones Prep) has been a steady performer early in her first season. Minogue is third on the team in scoring at Grace Minogue 6.3 points per game while shooting 33.3 percent from the floor. Minogue is the team s top 3-point shooter at 28.6 percent. }The Vikings rank eighth in the Midwest Conference in scoring defense at 67.2 points per game. The Vikings are 10th in scoring at 44.2 points per game. }Lawrence is fourth in the league in field goal percentage defense at 37.3 percent. Lawrence is hitting 27.8 percent of its shots from the floor, and that ranks 10th in the conference. }The Vikings are second in the Midwest Conference in defending the 3-pointer at 26.8 percent. Lawrence is 10th in the conference in 3-point shooting at 20.2 percent. SCOUTING WIDENER }Widener is coming off a 93-73 loss to Rowan on Tuesday. Devan Rimmer scored 17 points and Angelica Borja added 15 in a losing effort for the Pride.

}Widener, members of the Middle Atlantic Conference, is located in Chester, Pa. Chester s most famous basketball son is former Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan. }Devan Rimmer is one of three players scoring in double figures for Widener. She is at 13.6 points per game. Madison Ireland is at 10.8 points and leads the team at 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
