Arrival / Departure All participants will travel individually to Berlin or Rostock/ Laage, Germany. The organizing committee will provide transport from Berlin Airport and Rostock/Laage Airport to Rostock will bear all cost.(one group per country). In case the arrival and departure times of team members will vary and additional transport from Berlin is needed, the respective team will bear the extra cost ( 100,- Euro). Additional arrivals and departures from Rostock/Laage are free of charge. Please note that judges should travel with their team, otherwise additional costs will occur on arrival and departure. 5. Eligibility Under consideration of the regulations for the 23rd FINA DIVING GRAND PRIX the nomination of the participants is exclusively carried out by the national federations. The national federations may either send a national team or a representative team of one of their clubs. They are not allowed to send both. The maximum number of divers who can participate in an individual DGP event is four (4) from the Host Federation and two (2) from each visiting Federation. The Host Federation may enter four (4) divers in the prelims of an individual event but only two (2) can advance to the semi-finals. The Host Federation may enter two (2) teams in the direct final of a synchro event but only the best team may go to the podium for the medals. No additional divers or teams are allowed to start in a DGP meet, which means that participation in the form of exhibition is not allowed. 6. Rules and Regulations The competitions will be conducted in accordance to the FINA Rules and Regulations. 7. First Aid and Lifeguards A safety rehearsal will take place near the swimming pool on Thursday 22nd 2018 by expert lifeguards. An emergency doctor will be available above the technical podium during all competitions. Lifeguards will be available during training sessions and competitions next to our synchro springboards. 8. 9. Accreditation card Accreditation cards will be issued upon teams arrival. The list of accredited persons is based on the final entry forms. Please send us a personal photo of the participants for the accreditation with your final announcement. 10. Awards The winner of each discipline will be awarded a special prize. All divers placed 1 to 6 will receive certificates. The winner, second and third place receive prize money. In women s and men's springboard-3m, platform diving, synchronized diving and mixed diving. Competition format The format for the individual events in the FINA DIVING GRAND PRIX is the tournament system based only on dives with unlimited degree of difficulty (men six (6) dives, women five (5) dives). The tournament consists of a preliminary competition, two (2) semi-finals with six (6) divers in each and a final with six (6) divers. Semi-final A comprises the divers ranked 12-10-8-6-4-2 and Semi-final B comprises the divers ranked 11-9-7-5-3-1 in the preliminary competition, however not more than two (2) divers from the Organising Federation may be counted among these twelve (12) divers. In the finals, the three (3) best divers from both semi-finals meet. In the semi-finals and finals, the divers start in the reverse order of their placing in the preliminary competition. The synchronised events (and the Mixed Synchro events, when applicable) are held as direct finals and are run in accordance with FINA Rule D 3.7. If the Organising Federation enters two (2) teams only the best team counts and may go to the podium for the medal.
15. Technical Meeting The technical meeting will take place at the InterCityHotel on 22 nd February 2017 at 9:30 AM. After the technical conference, the hotel hosts a cocktail reception of the Lord Mayor. After consultation with the FINA delegate judges meeting will be held immediate before or after the reception. 16. QUALIFICATION FOR FINA DIVING WORLD SERIES 2019 The named diver ranked first (1 st ) in each individual event, having completed three Grand Prix Events in any one year will be invited to the FINA Diving World Series 2019. In the event that the first (1 st ) ranked diver has already received a direct qualification to the Diving World Series at the event designated in the Rules and Regulation of the Diving World Series, the place will be offered to the next ranked diver in that event. Should the first (1 st ) second (2 nd ) and third (3 rd ) ranked diver in an individual event be qualified to the Diving World Series there will be no further invitation made by FINA If a country has already 2 qualified divers at the designated event for the Diving World Series, then there will be no further Grand Prix qualification possible for that country. If two or more divers have the same number of ranking points (three best results), the diver will be selected with the highest ranking points (all legs attended). If there is still a tie, the diver with highest total score points (all legs attended). The Grand Prix Ranking will be determined by the FINA Grand Prix ranking system: Individual Events: 35, 33, 31, 29 etc. In the case of 10 or more National Federation attending the event, 3 additional points will be given. The qualified divers of the Diving Grand Prix will receive no financial subsidy to compete at the Diving World Series, but are eligible for Local Prize Money and Overall Prize Money (if competing in all legs of the Diving World Series).
