In determining penalty Steward s took into account that Mr Purcell had previously been spoken to regarding breaches of this Rule. Race 1 Java spice F&M maiden plate - 1200 metres: Shortly after the start Chicago Chick (NZ) was hampered and lost ground when bumped by Blessings which was taken out by Purple Crown. Purple Crown over-raced in the early stages. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Moira s Charm had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 300m. Music Haus raced ungenerously throughout. Our Anna raced wide without cover throughout. Steven Arnold, rider of Sarawak, was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions, two which were in consecutive strides, in a forehand manner prior to the 100m. Reece Wheeler, rider of Chicago Chick (NZ), was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
Dean Yendall, rider of Music Haus, reported that his mount over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result failed to finish the race off as expected. Race 2 stride events c,g & E maiden plate - 1200 metres: Patrick Payne trainer of Olga s Gallery was fined the sum of $100 for the late arrival of the gelding on course. Dapper Dan which was unruly in the mounting yard, dislodging rider John Robertson, was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon upon arrival at the barrier and was passed fit to race. John Robertson was examined by the Club Doctor and was passed fit to ride. Dapper Dan and Still My Friend were both slow to begin. Aftershave began awkwardly On jumping away He s Dirt Cheap was hampered by I m Rurrbellious which was taken out by Axford, which shifted out. Approaching the 800m Hillman s Jet, which had been racing ungenerously, shifted in away from Olga s Gallery. Near the 800m Mr Untouchable shifted out abruptly. Hillman s Jet raced wide from the 800m. Passing the 700m Dapper Dan had to be checked off the heels of Narooma, when improving. Spiritual Manner layed in for the length of the straight. Hillman s Jet layed out under pressure in the straight. Linda Meech, rider of Axford, was reprimanded for using her whip on seven occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100m. Race 3 sunrise ag/case ih 0 64 HANDICAP 2100 metres: Hold That View which was fractious in the barrier was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Twin Tea Bags stood flat footed and lost ground. (2 L). Ruby Road began awkwardly. Approaching the 1600m Twin Tea Bags raced ungenerously and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Equivocation and in doing so shifted out forcing Priceless Mate wider on the track. Priceless Mate then commenced to race wide before settling outside the lead passing the 1400m. Shortly after this incident Twin Tea Bags was permitted to stride forward by its rider. Danzadoozie over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 300m Antrim Glen, which was showing a tendency to hang, in shifted in away from Leathal s Legacy resulting in Dominant Manner having to be eased off that gelding s heels before being taken in and hampering Danzadoozie. Stewards acknowledged the racing manners of Antrim Glen as a
contributing factor to this incident and as such took no direct action against any one rider other than to advise all to take care when shifting ground in future. Twin Tea Bags, which performed below market expectations, was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no abnormalities. Race 4 VOBIS GOLD BETFAIR CLASSIC - 1300 metres: Michael Walker was fined the sum of $300 for being unable to fulfil his engagement on La Cicciolina due to being overweight. Trainer Mark Ashby was fined the sum of $50 for presenting Mary The Model in the mounting yard without winkers, part of that filly s approved gear. La Cicciolina and Written Dash bumped on jumping away. First Stimulus raced ungenerously in the early stages. Devon Princess got its head up when over-racing in the early and middle stages. Mossbeat, which performed below market expectations, was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no abnormalities. Race 5 THE BOTTLE-O BM78 HANDICAP - 1300 metres: Joshua Julius, trainer of Falzzon, was severely reprimanded for failing to lodge a horse movement form. In determining penalty Stewards took into account J Julius good record. Connections of Songspur advised Stewards prior to the running of race three that it was their intentions to have the gelding ridden further forward today, compared to its most recent starts due, to today s wide barrier draw. Songspur was ridden accordingly, settling in a handy position. Prior to correct weight C Robertson, rider of Red Five, viewed the start of the race after Red Five got its head down in its barrier stall prior to the start being affected. As Stewards did not believe that Red Five was denied a fair start correct weight was declared. As the start was effected the inside barrier gate of Number One Gun s stall shifted out, hampering that gelding. Red Five commenced awkwardly. El Divine over-raced in the early stages. Curragh King raced wide without cover throughout the event. Passing the 200m Tronador was hampered when taken out off its running by Number One Gun which shifted ground. Craig Robertson reported on scales that his mount failed to handle today s track conditions. Get Pronto, which performed below market expectations, was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no abnormalities.
Jordan Childs was severely reprimanded for failing to claim his full allowance as the rider of Curragh King. In determining penalty Stewards took into account Jordan Childs excellent record under this rule. Tramuntana lost its off-fore plate during the running of the race. Subsequent to this race Jarrod Fry was examined by the Club s Doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements. Acting on a report from the Compliance Assurance team who conducted a race day inspection of trainer Ms Helen Burns stables, Stewards interviewed Ms Burns in regards to a supplement that had been given to The Long Road in its feed on the evening of Thursday June 5. Ms Burns pleaded guilty to a charge under AR175 (k) in that her actions could have led to a breach of the Rules, and was fined the sum of $300. In determining penalty Stewards took into account Ms Burns exceptional record as a trainer over twenty years. Race 6 POOLES GOLDEN TOPAZ - 1200 metres: On jumping away Alpha Proxima shifted out bumped Pampelonne. At the 1000m Lonhspresso (Ben Melham) shifted in making contact with Midnight Express unbalancing that runner and taking it in off its course. Ben Melham was advised to exercise care when shifting ground. In the home straight Blackie (NZ) layed in to the run to the finish. Steven Arnold, rider of Pampelonne which performed poorly, stated that the gelding did not feel right in its action over the concluding stages. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 7 2014 SLICKPIX/TVN SILVER BOWL SERIES HEAT 2-1300 metres: Acting on a confirmed telephone from RISA advising that Bedisguised had suffered a hoof injury and was unfit to start, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 8.37am. Trainer Peter Moody will submit a veterinary certificate in regard to this matter. On jumping away Hard As Nails was tightened for room between Bitter Dan, which shifted out, and Deny Allcharges that shifted in. Issawi over-raced in the early stages. Passing the 1000m Eumeralla Gal had to be checked, and as a result became unbalanced, when tightened for room between Tom Raks which shifted out slightly and There Are No Rules that shifted in when overracing. As a result of this incident Artie Mortie which was following was hampered. Rounding the home turn Issawi (Jordan Childs) shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with Eumeralla Gal, hampering that filly. Jordan Childs was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear. Andrew Mallyon, rider of Hard As Nails which performed below market expectations, reported that the gelding may not have appreciated today s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination of Hard As Nails revealed no abnormal findings. A post-race veterinary examination of Eumeralla Gal, which performed poorly, revealed no abnormal findings.

Newspaper lost its near-fore plate during the running of the race. Race 8 SWAN HILL AUTO GROUP SHOWCASE BM70 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Diamonds At Noon was slow to begin. On jumping way Providential shifted out and made contact with Harpsund. On jumping away Colicchio and Island Bar bumped. Providential had a tendency to hang out from the 400m. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Diamonds At Noon and Offshore Echo had difficulty in obtaining clear running. Not Too Sure layed in under pressure from the 300m. Near the 250m Harpsund shifted in away from Not Too Sure resulting in Diamonds At Noon being hampered slightly. Passing the 200m Consoling Amy had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Harpsund which shifted out. In the home straight Harpsund was inclined to lay in under pressure. Linda Meech, rider of Essie s Pride which performed below market expectations, could offer no explanation for the filly s performance. A post race veterinary revealed no abnormal findings.
