Spring Soccer It s Different Than Fall Soccer!! No practices or fields, only Sunday games; limited by field availability Small-sided games at older ages Creative use of field space More touches on the ball Let the game be the teacher De-emphasize winning and losing Age restrictions do still apply
Starting and Ending on Time: The 5 Minute Rule All games start on the hour, run 50 minutes, 5-minute half time All games must end 5 minutes before the hour Please respect the teams that come after you by ending on time Help us make this system work; suggestions online
Refereeing Spring Soccer Games No designated, trained referees We suggest you and the other team's coach, one half each Also a parent, or a sibling who is a referee Know the basic spring rules for your age group (e.g., the offside rule begins at U10) We will use some games for referee training in conjunction with Seattle Soccer Referees Assoc.
U8 and U9 Rules No heading No offside Goalkeepers at both U8 and U9 Build Out Line (BOL) rules: -- Instructional purpose: build out play from the back -- Use mid field line as the BOL -- Defenders behind BOL when keeper has the ball -- No goal kicks; no punting -- Keepers pass, roll or throw ball out -- Play resumes once ball is out

It helps us process emails much faster!
Adding Players Registrar can add any current SYSA player to your team with first name, last name, and birth date (a current SYSA player is one who played for an SYSA club or team in Fall 2016). Please keep your rosters current, especially when adding players to your team after the season begins. Players who did not play SYSA in the fall 2016: These players must be added by the registrar once a birth certificate is presented. All rosters will be complete by Monday, March 27, 2017.
Viewing Your Roster in Affinity Follow these instructions to view your roster in the Affinity registration software. There instructions are also on the Spring Soccer web page. 1. Click this link: http://wys-sysa.affinitysoccer.com, and log in to your member account page using the user login button on the left-side menu. 2. On your member account page, hover over your profile box and click view details to access your information (this box will be outlined in red once you click). 3. Scroll down, and open the Teams tab. 4. For the Fall 2016/17 team, on the right side, click the Team Info button to open the team page. 5. Select the Team Roster tab to open the official roster and review.
Coach and Volunteer RMA All coaches and team volunteers: -must have current RMA clearance -must be listed on the team roster in Affinity Anyone listed on the team roster in Affinity has RMA clearance (since you can not add volunteers to the roster until the application is submitted and clearance received). All new team coaches and volunteers must complete their RMA application at this link (see the SYSA Spring Soccer Coaches web page): http://wys-sysa.affinitysoccer.com/reg/index.asp?sessionguid
