ESWG 2018 event guide February 1-4
Welcome! Athletes and Spectators, On behalf of more than 30 sponsors and more than 150 volunteers and staff, welcome to the 38th annual Empire State Winter Games. Since 1981, the Games have been a showcase for your hard work, commitment, and excellence in your sport. Each time you get off your couch, put on your jacket, hat, gloves, and boots, and walk out into the cold winter day, you commit to improving your health, your happiness, and your fun. In short, whenever you go out and play, great things happen. So, this year, the Empire State Winter Games provides more exciting things to do for you and your families than ever before. With the addition of exciting new sports and activities, live music, food, fireworks, and more, you can expect to have more winter fun than you ever thought possible. This year, we have also taken the spirit of the Games on the road with an inaugural Torch Relay to inspire everyone in our state, from Manhattan to the Adirondacks, to come out and play with us this winter. The Empire State Winter Games only happen because of you the athletes, fans, coaches, families, friends, and all-around winter sports enthusiasts that make winter great. It is up to each of us to see that greatness and come out and play. We hope you enjoy your 2018 Empire State Winter Games, and encourage you to take the spirit of the Games home with you. Good luck, play hard, and have fun! Tait Wardlaw Executive Director Empire State Winter Games come out and play! www.eswgames.com Empire State Winter Games 3
