Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Some bleacher and personal chair seating is available on pool deck as well as in the gymnasium. A concession stand will be available. Additional parking is available in back via a small side road to the left of the YMCA. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2. 2C4.Water depth measured 1meter to 5 meters from deep end is 6ft. Shallow end is 4ft at 1meter and 6ft at 5 meters. Use of audio or visual recording devises, including cell phones, is NOT permitted in changing areas, restrooms, or locker rooms. RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern the conduct of the meet unless otherwise noted. Safety: In the interest of safety and accident prevention, coaches and swimmers are asked to observe all posted pool rules and conduct themselves in a safe manner. Any questions or concerns should be reported to the Meet Director through the office of the Clerk of Course which is located right next to the stage area, YMCA Front Desk Staff, or any YMCA Professional Staff Member. ONLY MEET WORKERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS, AND SWIMMERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK (area will be clearly marked with signs), SPECTATORS ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THE SEATING AREA. Swimmers must enter on the shallow end side of the pool in the warmup/ warm down lanes feet first only.
Please know that in the case of inclement weather, that the East YMCA lifeguards and facility staff will clear the pool deck and ask all spectators to make their way into our gym at the front of the building. The East YMCA Aquatic Facility has strict rules prohibiting swimming while thunder and lightning storms are in the vicinity and these rules will be followed at all times. If a lightning strike is recorded within a 5-mile radius of the East YMCA Aquatics Facility, swimming will be halted and will not resume until a 30-minute period absent of local lighting strike has expired. a) The use of audio or visual recording devices, including cellphones, is not permitted in the changing areas, restrooms or locker rooms. b) All changing of clothes must be done in changing areas, restrooms or locker rooms as Deck Changes are strictly prohibited. c) Drones are prohibited over venues any time athletes, coaches, officials, and/or spectators are present. Officials must be members of USA Swimming and must present evidence of certification as required by Southeastern Swimming. Should there be any questions, meet officials will recognize only coaches or their designated representatives. ELIGIBILITY: This is an Open Meet and all coaches allowed on deck must be a coach in good standing with an invited team. All swimmers must be 2017-2018 USA Swimming Registered athletes. USA registration number must be listed on the entry form. No entry will be accepted without current registration numbers. There will be no on-deck USA Swimming membership registration. Coaches and officials must present evidence of certification as required by Southeastern Swimming. A swimmer's age on the first day of the meet will determine his or her age for the entire meet. Swimmers must be 6 years old to enter Open events. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. DISABILITIES: Swimmers with disabilities are welcome and highly encouraged. Coaches with disabled swimmers are requested to complete the attached information form for disabled swimmers and return it with the entries in order to efficiently make swimmers accommodations prior to the start of the meet. Meet Format: This is a preliminary/finals meet for all those athletes who are 12&Under for events that are less than 400 yards, except for all races that are contested on Friday evening (indicated in the order of events). All 13&Over individual events will be Timed Finals. Flyover starts will be utilized
as practical. All Events will be pre-seeded except for the events that are 400 yards and longer, which will be deck-seeded. Swimmers or coaches must sign-in with the Clerk of Course for all deck-seeded events. All deck seeded events will be swum fastest to slowest alternating girls and boys. Swimmers must be 6 years old to enter the Open events. Swimmers in the 1650-yd freestyle will be required to provide their own timers and lap counters. Relays will be Timed Finals ONLY with the 200 Free Relays swum in the Saturday morning preliminary heats and the 200 Medley Relays swum in the Sunday morning preliminary heats. There will be two (2) heats of finals for the 11-12, and 10&Under age groups with the B Final swimming first followed by the A final. MYB reserves the right to alter the number of finals heats and/or lanes for each age group. ENTRY LIMITS: Swimmers are limited to three (3) Individual events on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday 12& Under swimmers are limited to three (3) individual events per day, inclusive of time trials. 13&Over swimmers are limited to four (4) individual events per day, inclusive of time trials. All swimmers are limited to two relays for the meet. The host team reserves the right to limit the number of heats in deck-seeded events in order to run the meet in the allotted time. ENTRIES: Teams who have Hy-Tek's Meet/Team Manager should submit their entries by email. Entry forms must be completely filled out including the swimmer's best times for yards. Once the Psych sheet is posted, a swimmer entered in the maximum number of events may not scratch one event to enter another event, except in cases involving a mistaken entry in the wrong age group that may be corrected by the Meet Referee. Time Trial events count as one of the three events allowed on a given day, but do not count as one of the six individual events in the meet. Entries will not be changed because of times made after the entry deadline. Please provide a written copy of entries for verification purposes. ENTRY ERRORS: If entry error is due to MYB error, the swimmer will be deck-entered an open lane of the heat nearest his/her entry time or into a new heat if needed. The entire event will not be reseeded. Time Trials: Request for time trials will be accepted by the Clerk of Course. Payment for any requested time trial must accompany the request. Requested time trials for swimmers not already entered in the meet must be accompanied by proof of current USA Swimming registration. Swimmers not already entered in the meet must submit facility fees, SES surcharges and any other meet related fees with their request. The deadline for submitting Time Trial requests will be 11:00 AM for the preliminary session and 2:30 PM for the 13&Over session. The scheduling of the Time Trials will depend on the number of request, but they will likely be scheduled for the end of the day after all competition is complete in the prelim sessions. WARM-UP: Southeastern Swimming Meet Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect at this meet. Morning sessions will have one or two warm-ups depending on entries. Depending on size of meet, there may be designated sprint lanes at end of each morning warm-up. Afternoon sessions will be OPEN warm-ups with sprint and pace lanes to be designated the last 15 minutes at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Warm-up Lane assignments will be posted on ymcamontgomery.org and will be in coaches packet. Swimmers attending the meet without a coach must report to the Meet Director or Referee to be assigned a coach for warm-up prior to each session. Warm-up/warm-down lane(s) will be available during the meet. Lanes 7 and 8 will be designated as Warm-Up/warm-down lane(s). Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Entry Chairman on a "lane available" basis and may not appear in the heat sheet. No new heats will be formed to accommodate late entries.
COACHES: Compliance shall be the responsibility of the Host Meet Referee/director. Coaches shall display, when requested, their USAS Membership cards to be allowed on deck at any SES sanctioned meet. Compliance shall be the responsibility of the Host Meet Referee/director they may assign the responsibility to another meet personal. Therefore, all coaches are required to sign in with the Clerk of Course and/or all coaches must be prepared to show their coaching credentials at any time to the Meet Director and /or the Meet Referee. HEAT SHEETS: A heat sheet packet for the entire meet will be posted on The Montgomery YMCA Barracudas team unify site as well each night of finals. No heat sheets will be printed at the East YMCA. SCRATCH RULES FOR PRELIM/FINALS EVENTS: Swimmers qualifying for finals or consolation finals must notify the Clerk of Course within 30 minutes of the announcement of the qualifiers for each final that they do not intend to compete. They must further declare their final intention to scratch within 30 minutes of the posting of the last preliminary event of the session or they will be seeded into the event. Scratches must be given to the Clerk of Course/ Admin. Any swimmer failing to properly scratch and failing to compete in the consolation finals and finals shall be barred from the remainder of the meet unless relieved for good cause by the Referee. The penalty for failing to properly scratch and failing to compete in a Sunday evening consolation final or final event is a $25 fine. DECK ENTRIES: All deck entries should be submitted to the Clerk of Course/ Admin as soon as possible, but not later than 1 hour prior to the start of each session. No new heats will be formed to accommodate deck entries. SCRATCHES/PENALTIES: All scratches should be submitted to the Clerk of Course/ Admin as soon as possible but not later than one hour prior to the start of the session to provide lanes for possible deck entries. A swimmer may scratch a pre-seeded event on the block without penalty. Swimmers or coaches must sign-in with the Clerk of Course/ Admin for all deck-seeded events; the sign-in deadline is 1 hour prior to the start of the session. Any swimmer entered in a deck seeded event but failing to positive check in will be seeded into the event with a NO TIME. SCORING: Points for first through eight places in individual events will be awarded as follows: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11. AWARDS: 12 and Under- a High-point trophy will be awarded to the top 3 finishers for 10&U and 11-12 for both genders. 13 and Over A small gift bag will be given to each 13&Over swimmer. There will be no team scoring. COACHES' MEETING: A coaches' meeting will be held once the warmup has ended and the pool has been closed for competition on Saturday morning in the Hospitality Room and on an as-needed basis thereafter. No swimmers will be allowed in the pool during this time. OFFICIALS' MEETING: An officials' meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to each session in the Hospitality Room.
