CLUB NEWS Fort Worth Trap & Skeet June 2015 Reed wins big in Pennsylvania F ort Worth Trap & Skeet member Kendall Reed won HOA at the Beretta Cup at the Keystone Shooting Park in Dalmatia, Pennsylvania the weekend of May 2 & 3, 2015. Reed had to finish off her opponents with a shoot off and did it in fine fashion winning in the I even out shot all first box. Miss Reed is a brand new the guys. member of Team Krieghoff and a long Kendall Reed time member of USA Shootings Junior Olympic Team. Kendall, who turns 20 this month, began her shooting career at the age of 15 and swiftly switched to international skeet at sixteen. Close personal friend Vincent Hancock won this title last year, so that makes winning this event even more special. When she is in town Kendall practices every day at Fort Worth Trap & Skeet and we are very proud of her and her accomplishments. Congratulations Kendall and keep up the good work. Kendall Reed proudly displays the trophy she won at the Beretta Cup Just what are those traffic cones for? When you see the orange cones on top of the trap houses that means pay attention, there is someone inside of the trap house. The cones are a safety signal for shooters to be on the watch that someone is inside of that trap house and will be coming out. We don t want anyone being peppered and getting hurt, so we use the cones as a signal, so be sure when entering the trap houses to put that cone on top, and when exiting the trap houses, be sure to look toward the skeet fields and make sure it s safe to come out. Also, when leaving the trap houses put the cones back down so others won t think there is someone still inside.
Mid-Cities Pace-Setters hold fundraiser On April 11, 2015 the Mid Cities Pace Setters came to Fort Worth Trap & Skeet hosting a fund raiser and a good time was had by all. Teams competed in skeet trying to shoot the highest score, but the most coveted trophy of the day was the Bringing Up The Rear last place trophy. Claymores keep winning and winning and winning I know you members have been asking yourselves Who are all these kids shooting out here? Well most of them are the Fort Worth Claymores and you should be proud of them. They have come a long way in just the past year. Most of these kids have only been shooting for a little less than two years, but if you sit around and watch them practice, you would never know it. Some break the target out of the house so fast it s hard to even see the bird. In just the past two months the Claymores have won $15,000 in endowment money, and have won 26 individual trophies. So what s the secret to their success? Why practice of course. Practice, practice, practice and more practice. That is why when you come out to shoot you always see them out here shooting. They are out here shooting almost every day of the week. Just goes to show what a little hard work and dedication can do.
