Preparing for WHMIS 2015 1. Basic duties unchanged. 2. Inventory of hazardous products. 3. Discard unused products. 4. Update labels/sdss. 5. Ensure employees are trained (1988 and/or 2015). 6. Be aware of transition periods.
Preparing for WHMIS 2015 Time Period Until Nov. 30, 2018 WHMIS 1988 or 2015 Employers (Federally-Regulated) Dec. 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019 WHMIS 2015. Note: existing products in workplace that comply with WHMIS 1988 must be utilized by May 31, 2019. June 1, 2019 All products must comply with WHMIS 2015 32
